William Lilly. 1 by traditionalastrologystude Hi there! I was wondering if anyone here would like to maintain a website about the medieval astrologer William Lilly. I have a domain but I have to give up taking care of the site as I'm too busy for it. It's williamlilly.org. I'm not selling the domain name. I just want someone with experience in websites or blogging to take it. There'd be no cost to you other than what your own domain/web host would charge you. I would like the domain to be used to share information about Lilly's work for the benefit of serious students. I've let go of domains before (let them expire) and they just ended up with people who buy and park them but don't use them. So if you want it, please let me know. Thanks and have a bright day. 3 by Deb Thanks for letting us know. So it looks like that URL already has some content dedicated to William Lilly and horary works, and you are saying that you can no longer maintain it and want to know if someone is interested in taking it over and developing it? http://www.williamlilly.org This sounds like a very good opportunity for someone who has the time and inclination - I would have the inclination, but not the time unfortunately. I can understand your concern that your past effort doesn't go completely to waste. I have no idea what would happen to Skyscript if something happens to me, and eventually I am going to pop my clogs, so it often crosses my mind that I should have some kind of plan for that. It would probably start with a post like this. Hope this leads to a useful connection for you. Quote Tue Jul 30, 2013 8:56 am
4 by traditionalastrologystude Dear Deb, First, thank you for helping me activate my account. If anyone is interested in the site, they can just take the domain and disregard the content. That's just a rough I put there, some literature to look into until I had real content posted. But I've never found the time. The new owner would, of course, use their own book lists/product links or whatever so long as it's related to the subject. I've also thought about what happens to websites when their owners pass on. I think websites should be treated like any other property. There must be laws to protect them and to allow people to designate others to inherit them. I'm not aware of any such law but there needs to be. In the meantime maybe each owner can discuss sharing an account with a trusted person with the web host's approval. Thanks for the reply.
