Degree Rising Matches Natal ASC` 1 by MarkF Everyone, It seems that I remember Lilly saying that if a horary chart's ASC is in the same degree as the querant's rising that this is a good sign. But I can't find the reference to it. In his example on whether he was going to buy Master B's house, on page 220 of CA, Lilly says that it is a good sign that the chart's degree of rising matches Lilly's own natal Jupiter. That's as close as I could find. Does anyone know of any other examples from Lilly where he links a horary's ASC to the querant's natal ASC? I have a horary chart where the degree of the ASC is the same degree as the querant's natal chart, but in a different sign. Is that meaningful at all? Mark F Quote Sat Dec 31, 2005 5:30 am
rising sign degree matches natal planet 2 by voyagergirl Barbara Watters notes in her book, "Horary Astrology and the Judgment of Events" that when the horary chart's rising degree exactly matches a natal planet degree it gives extra importance to the question. For example, she notes that if someone's natal Saturn exactly rises in the horary chart, it means the person is terribly worried about something other than the question being asked. I wish I could remember more, but I'm not at home, so I can't refer to the book and other information she gave about this. Quote Sun Jan 01, 2006 4:36 am
3 by MarkF What you quoted from Barbara Watters matches the example that Lilly gave in his chart for Master B's house. I don't know if what is in the chart in front of me is that important. The horary's ASC is 12 Virgo, while the querant's natal is 12 Aries. The aspect between Aries and Virgo is an inconjunct, so maybe this doesn't really mean much. Or at most, it's another sign that the chart is radical. The planetery hour does match, and the Moon was cazimi, which always also put the Fortune on the ASC. Taken together, I thought these (especially the cazimi Moon) gave the querant's case a boost. Mark F Quote Sun Jan 01, 2006 5:42 am
