Day Venus, Hour Venus - radical
Image
Janis already presented the main features of this chart, which is radical. But the Lady of the Hour beholds the ascendant with an inconjunct aspect, Uranus is square the Midheaven, the degree of the Fall of the Sun is on the ascendant and Fortuna is conjunct the Moon's South nodes. So this could be the first suprize of the tournement. Radicality could save the favourites, but the specifics of the chart hint the underdog - keep an eye on Cameroon.

Andrew,

I allocate the favourites L1 and L10, the underdogs L4 and L7. Mercury as L10 and L7 and retrograde in 7 and Neptune on the 4th. the Ant of Fortuna is also on L4 (almost) and along with that tricky aspect that the Moon applies to make to L4 too - that's why i originally thought that Croatia would concede the own goal. I've seen something similar to that many Moons ago - where L7 and L10 had the same ruler and Mercury was retro in the favourites house. It might well have been an Arsenal vs. Blackburn game (possibly) where The Glorious Arsenal had something like 34 shots on goal to Blackburn's NIL, and still lost 0-2! I'll try and dig that one out.

For Mexico v Cameroon

Could be a draw (2-2)? - But interesting that you are keeping an eye on Cameroon - so am I. Uranus on 7th cusp, L7 applying to oppo in the 12th - I fancy them for a red card 5/1 or 11/4 for either and 25/1 for both teams to get red carded.

Half Time Edit: Cameroon certainly seem to be benefitting from Fortuna!

For the records I posted a ?21 loss today from going for a draw about 5 minutes into the 2nd half. But this still leaves me ?19 up from yesterday, so that's alright.

Fortuna conjunct SN in the 7th house made Cameroon's goal unneccesary small, and there is no doubt Mexico has two goals incorrectly disallowed in the 1st half. But the best team won and I am content with that. It is difficult to know how the chart you have been 'weighed up' differently. Venus, L1+LHr, inconjunct the ascendant from her sign of essential dignity, Taurus, got there in the end. The goal also came roughly 15 minutes after the Moon entered Capricorn - no more than that.

As it happens i placed this small bet:

I am happy that Mexico won - i thought they had played positive attacking football with lots of angled through balls that everyone likes to see.
Bit disappointed with the ref again though - i thought he let a few bad tackles go unpunished, plus the dubious disallowed goals - hence my half time edit!

When I judge my charts i keep in mind the fact that FIFA are one of the most corrupt organisations on earth ! Call me cynical if you like!

EDIT: Still, Mexico vs Brazil looks like a bit of a contest! A month of football for 6 hours every day! Bliss!

Janis was on the right side again. :'

In the Spain - Netherlands game later this evening he is pointing out radicality by triplicity, which appears to like to share things around and is sympathetic with draws. This is a good start. However, Moon in Capricorn may weigh down the Netherlands, the Cancer ruled sign. Mercury, L7, is in Cancer and retrograde.
------------------------------
I bucked Spain and exited when they scored their first goal.
?12 up. Now at half time it's 1-1, so it's back where it started.
But I'm safe and home. :)

What about longer term trends like Jupiter through the signs? For example, have the Netherlands performed any better in Tournaments when Jupiter was going through their sign of Cancer like in this Tournament? If this traditional association has any worth it should surely be a boost for them.
Nobody picked up my question here. I think I can answer it for myself now!

Spain v Netherlands, what did I miss? The draw was tempting, particularly with the shared triplicity mentioned above, but I can't see 1 - 5 for Netherlands in the chart.

I think this is exactly the sort of result we need to find a good explanation for.

Like Amelia I tend to look at national charts. I think there is a bigger picture than just charts for individual games. Using the 1813 chart for the Netherlands Jupiter (exalted in Cancer) is in the Dutch 1st house (Whole sign) trining the Sun and Mercury.

But that pattern doesn't follow in 2002 (they didn't qualify) nor 1990 (went out in the last 16).

Dare I say it, three predictions and three correct outcomes!!!

Spain v Netherlands:

Chart radical by triplicity only
Lord of the Hour not active:
Result moves away from favourite.

Moon not separating from anything- no strength.
In Capricorn- weak- moves away from favourite.

Aspect to retrograde planet-strong impact as partile. Retrograde in sign of Moons rulership- moves result away from favourite.

Enough testimonies for me to say underdog rather than favourite.
