85 by Jupiterhead Hey, looks like Argentina are the favs - ok then, they get the Asc. Fav = Sag in my Sidereal chart. Dutch are Gemini - lol, "Dutch" can mean "2". Mercury is Lord 10 and Jupiter Lord 4 so we'll ignore them. -No direct Lord placements on cusps and no antiscion hits either. -Moon doesn't seem to be doing much, nor its antiscion. -POF antiscion hanging about nowhere. -Moon squares POF antiscion within 5 degrees - nice for the underdogs? -Lord 1 (Jupiter) sextile's POF within 6 degrees, but we don't like that runty sextile, so minor for the Fav's. -Pluto on Fav's cusp - Ouch!!! So, Holland win then? 2-1, maybe? Quote Wed Jul 09, 2014 7:47 pm

87 by GP I was hoping to see some theories on Brazil's thrashing here, in retrospect if nothing else - any thoughts anyone? Or was it all down to Pluto (above)? (And if that was the case, why was Argentina -Netherlands such a turgid bore-draw?) Quote Sun Jul 13, 2014 2:14 pm
88 by SIDERUM In a difficult and complicated game, Argentina will win a surprise. Mars / NN trine to the Seleccion MH (AFA), Jupiter conjunct the progressed ASC AFA (Argentine Football Association). AFA: 10? Sun in Scorpio Sabella DT: Sun in Scorpio 12? Bund Deutscher Football: Sun in Aquarius 8? DT Low: 13 ? Aquarius Sun The match will be vs Scorpio. 89 by Mark I agree with Siderum about the 'surprise factor for Argentina. But good or bad? Its still 0-0 second half so a quick post. The Cancer ingress for Buenos Aires is what made me plump for Argentina when the last 16 were first selected. Uranus on the MC points to something dramatic and surprising. Moon in the 10th or 11th depending on house system. However, the MC ruler (Mars) is in detriment and on the IC in the ingress. Plus the Moon in Aries is disposited by that Mars:???: Looking at other testimony the lunar eclipse in April 2014 at 25 Libra was also close to the ASC degree most Argentinian astrologers use for their national chart (1816). Transiting Mars in Libra is close to the Argentinian ASC. But do you want a planet in detriment on the ASC? Does having Lord 7 there favour you or opponents? Germany though was the other country in the last 16 to have a prominent angular planet in its ingress. However, the Moon in the 8th and a Rx MC ruler makes we wonder. Traditionally, retrogrades are seen as rather negative association but they also have a reputation of something sudden or unexpected. Its noteable that while Rx the ASC and MC ruler for Germany (Mercury) is in its sign of rulership, angular and in the 10th. Although it is squaring the ASC. Anyway, I put my bet on Argentina winning ages ago so fingers crossed! 90 by amandaW So Germany won, though Argentina had the most chances. I don't know whether to be miserable as my astrological prediction was wrong or ridiculously pleased that my pre-astrological analysis football insight was spot on!!! 92 by Andrew Bevan Argentina lost the World Cup final and have not won since 1986. I wonder whether this defeat should be termed 'The Hand of God' or 'Curse of Maradonna'. Maradonna has been hallowed at one of the most perfect and complete footballers of all time, but there is no doubt that Argentina knocked England out of the World Cup Quarter final by unfairl means in 1986, when Maradonna used his hand to guide the ball into the goal and eliminate the English team. I note that Messi seems to have raised his head after returning to Argentina, and now says that they have reason to be proud for coming 2nd in the contest. I agree and think that there is greater pride to be gained in loosing the final and having played a good game, than having played a lousy game and going home as the winner. This is not my opinion of the German team, who I think delivered a strong tournement. The English team were knocked out in the early rounds, but also here I think they delivered a game their country can be proud of. And these things count! http://www.astronor.com Quote Tue Jul 15, 2014 10:43 am
