I heard some news today about a former boss and I wanted to do a horary to see what I could glean from the sky, then I couldn't decide what house would represent a FORMER boss, not someone who would at this time or in future be likely to be that again? thoughts?

If you are asking about someone with whom you have no definable relationship, and the question is purely about their welfare or wellbeing (ie, you are not involved in any way), then you can assign that person to the ascendant and take yourself out of the question. This is where you are moved to ask the question out of concern for them so you are associating with them - if you perceive them as an enemy they go straight to the 7th house.

If the situation does or might involve you, and no other house seems appropriate, then use the 7th house. In either case check that the signification fits ? if it doesn?t describe him appropriately then something isn?t right and the chart may not be reliable.
