Will this man buy my electronic business 1 by stanstar My friend Derek asked me "Will this man buy my business" The question was asked 19 OCTOBER 2005 at 23.40 Edinburgh Scotland UK BST Derek is wanting to sell his electronics business which includes buildings and equipment and a staff of 10 or so. This man has been interested in buying it for 3 yrs and Derek gave him a call and they met last week on the premises. The chart has Leo rising at 4deg 03mins so Derek is represented by the Sun at 26deg 39 Libra in the 4th house of Regiomontanus. The person interested in buying the business is represented by Saturn ruler of the 7th house. Saturn is in the 1st house at 10degrees 17 mins Leo. so I nice right away that both Sun and Saturn are in mutual reception the Sun in Libra where Saturn is Exhaulted and Saturn is in Leo ruled by the Sun. So far so good! Well perhaps. The Sun and Saturn are very much debilitated -9 and -10 respectively. Not so good eh? Like two drunks helping each other home. I noticed also that Sun and Saturn have a square aspect applying in 13.39 deg when Sun will be in Scorpio. Is that a legitimate square I think not. I turned the chart for the buyer and house 8 his turned 2nd shows also that Saturn is not in great shape financially. Would that be correct? So to recap for a second...Neither the buyer or Derek are in a strong position in this chart. I am figuring that as the potential buyer and Derek are in mutual reception there is a willingness to buy if the price is cheap enough. I wasn't quite sure wghere to locate the business itself so I am using Derek's 2nd house ruler which is also the Sun which is weak and so Derek is also in a weak position financially. If the assets and profits or lack of same are located at house 11 the 2nd from the 10th we see that Venus rules the 11th and Venus is in better shape with a score of +7. Of course the Moon is void of course I am noting that. Just looking here I see the Sun is conjuct Jupiter which is in excellent shape thyat must be good for Derek eh? Uranus is in the buyers 2nd house which I interpret as him not knowing very much about electronics. All in all I think the buyer is very interested in buying but actually doesnt have enough money to carry out the transaction. A big No is my answer what does anyone else think? I would love to hear from you guys. Stan Quote Sun Oct 23, 2005 6:46 pm
2 by Sue Hi Stan, I agree with you on the state of play here. I don't think things look particularly good for either party. As you mentioned, the mutual reception looks promising but they are each in a weakened position themselves. Bonatti says that if a planet that has benefit confered onto it is weak, it is unable to hold on to the virtue and has to return it. Also, as you mentioned, the Moon is VOC making it very difficult for this transaction to proceed smoothly anyway. I probably would not turn the chart though as all the information you need can be found in the radical chart. I would just take the 2nd house ruler for the finances of the querent and the 8th house ruler for the quesited. They both have the same ruler for their primary significator as well as their finances. Both are weak. The asking price is signified by the ruler of the 10th house. This is Mars. It is in its detriment and retrograde. Not a good sign. It could mean that your friend will not be able to get his price. You could also look at the 9th house for the contract if the transaction proceeds that far. This is Jupiter. Unfortunately, Jupiter is combust the Sun. He may get some bad legal advice or there is a problem with the contract. Although there is the mutual reception suggesting there is a willingness for both parties to negotiate, there is no contact by aspect with any of the significators. I'd say this doesn't look too promising. Cheers Sue Quote Sun Oct 23, 2005 9:52 pm
Will this man buy my electronic business 3 by stanstar Thank you Sue for your input here I much appreciate it! Sue why would you not bother to turn the chart? Is it because all the relevant information is already here and that turning the chart would either be a waste of time or irrelevant? Why would the 10th house ruler Mars indicate the asking price? Why would the 9th house ruler indicate the contract (if ever it got to that stage) Is it because it is the 3rd house from the buyers 1st house? Is that not turning the chart? All your other points were also helpful Sue thank you again for your input and help my dear! Stan Quote Mon Oct 24, 2005 12:26 am
4 by StarsNYou Hi Stan I believe she took the 10th as the asking price because when we look at real estate charts or those buying property, we look to the 10th for the price of the property. The 9th being the contract would probably be not because it is the 3rd of the 7th, but because the 9th rules legal matters, and a contract is a legal matter. The 4th house in the chart would describe the property that the business is on I would imagine. The 11th would be the income the business generates, the 6th would be the employees he is including in the transaction. I would say it doesn't look promising that it would come to a satisfactory conclusion either. Feel free to correct me if I supposed wrong on why you took the 10th and 9th Sue Quote Tue Oct 25, 2005 6:51 am
5 by Sue Sorry, I meant to answer this earlier but got caught up in other things. No need to correct you at all StarsNYou, this was exactly my reasoning for using the 9th and 10th houses. In regard to turning the chart, I take your point about the houses used being, in a sense, turning the chart. For example, the 8th house is the other person's finances, which is effectively their 2nd house. I generally try to avoid using the turned chart unless necessary. This can happen when there is not a direct route between the querent and the quesited. For example, if you were to ask a question about your friend's mother, you would look at the 10th from the 11th, the 11th being your friend and the 10th from there being her house. The reason you would turn the chart is because you do not have a direct route to your friend's mother. Of course, if he was asking the question, he would simply use the 10th for his mother. 6 by stanstar Thank you so much StarsNyou and Sue! Your comments were most helpfull and encouraging too! Derek is closing the offer on Friday I think so I will report back and tell you about what happens. Horary is such a wonderfull pastime isn't it. I have been studying astrology for 16yrs and only just recently came interested. Why it took me so long I don't know but at least I'm thoroughly enjoying myself. I have many clients and horary is now becoming my favourite tool. Stan Quote Tue Oct 25, 2005 5:13 pm
