below is an overlapped chart with libra ingress... the libra ingress and the 2015 cancer ingress which i had discussed on some of the other mundane threads both highlight a square involving saturn.. the cancer ingress had moon at 29 leo square saturn at 29 leo.. this one has mars at 29 leo squaring onto saturn at 0 sag.. i don't know what the deal is other then to note the planets mars and saturn rule the 12th and 2/3rd in this chart.. in the event chart they rule the 1st and 3/4th..

thanks for commenting on this with a different astro twist that i wouldn't have thought of without your input - sidereal..

according to the history and use of ingress charts as i understand them, one will only consider the cancer, libra or capricorn ingress when the aries ingress doesn't have a fixed sign on the ascendant.. if a fixed sign on the aries ascendant, the aries ingress is considered valid for a year.. 2015 aries ingress chart to mecca using sidereal gives 17 taurus using my software... this would complicate the use of the cancer or libra ingress charts, or perhaps they would be used in a more secondary way that i don't fully understand..

i am exploring traditional mundane as much as i can.. this is as much as i know at this point.. i doubt it matters what zodiac one uses... the folks using these rules would have included masha'allah, and sahl who could have been working with a sidereal zodiac, but they still would be following the basic rules i have outlined in the previous paragraph.

but, leaving all that aside there are the same and more interesting tie in's between the event charts and the 2015 sidereal cancer ingress chart to mecca..

i view your comment here as subjective.. i don't think i share it.. i see events like these - the bangkok bombing, mh 370 disappearance or the mh 17 crash - as 'accidents' of some type or another.. i suppose if one could show they are all motivated by religious fanaticism then perhaps one could put it under an astro header 'pluto in sag', or even saturn in sag, but frankly i don't see it that way.. the crane disaster wasn't based on religious belief.. it happened in a religious center, but i don't see it being driven by religious fanaticism..

that both the crane disaster and the mina stampede - events/accidents involve those who are a part of a religious pilgrimage would suggest an emphasis on the 3rd/9th/6th/12th houses/signs in some context for me.. perhaps this ongoing jupiter/neptune opposition speaks into this focus on the pilgrimage and on refugees more too.... i think the crane disaster was an accident that doesn't have anything to do with religion or only in so far as it happened in a religious center...

the different zodiac viewpoint is going to complicate things, but probably both have merit.. i'm going to stick with the idea of fixed on the ascendant being the chart to use for the year regardless of the zodiac one uses.. this lessens the relevance of your 2015 sidereal cancer ingress chart as i see it.

one interesting astro feature of either zodiac chart is the close conjunction of the sun and north node. i am not sure what to make of that.. this conjunction is on the cusp of the 12th too.. the solar eclipse to mina has essentially the same angles as the mina stampede chart..
