Should I stay here or go back home?

I'm Sun, in Pisces in the 8th house, weak and peregrine, and the Moon, combust, (ouch!). Guess this weakness just reflects the quandary I'm in!

"Here" is the first house, "back home" is the seventh. Saturn, in detriment and retrograde is just inside the first house, a testimony to go back home. However, Saturn also rules the seventh house, back home, testimony to stay! The chart seems to be saying it doesn't matter much if I stay or go, I'm in a weak position either way! Any comments/observations welcome!

Hi Harlequin,

I notice the Moon is on the 9th house cusp and applying closely to the trine of Jupiter which rules the 9th. Does this suggest a possibility to move overseas?

Hi Deb,

not in the immediate future as far as I know, but the possibility is there in the longer term. "Back home" in the context of the question is just a move back to the midlands from Walden in Essex. Thanks for your reply!

Hi Harlequin,

I'm just curious, I haven't looked at the chart, but I am interested in why it is that you chose 7th cusp to find the significator of going 'back home'? I would have looked to the 4th cusp for home, past, background and roots.

Hi Draco,

Frawley in his "Horary Textbook", pages 201-203 says that such questions (Stay or Go) use the first house and Lord 1 to show things as they are and the seventh house and Lord 7 to show things as they will be if the change is made.

Hi Harlequin,

Ha ha. Now I see what you mean. I should have known this as I have the Frawley's Horary Textbook. I love Frawley's writing. :)

You are indeed correct.

On page 201 of the Horary Textbook, Frawley says:
..the first house and Lord 1 show things as they are; the 7th house and Lord 7 show things as they will become, if the change is made.
I am not in a position to argue with Frawley, but I would have imagined the 4th and 10th cusps to be significant. The 4th for where we are rooted, settled and the place of our foundation, the 10th for the future, the meeting of a challenge to attain a goal, and the going opposite to where we are rooted, taking initiative. I would feel compelled to examine the 4th and its Lord at least, as a secondary consideration.

Thanks for your information (which I should have known :? )

I will remember this in future.

Lilly, when trying to determine whether to remain in the same place or move, uses the fourth house for the current abode and the seventh for the one to move to. This leaves an 'either or' situation though, a situation that is best avoided if possible. It is best to ask about your preferred option and look at the strengths and weaknesses of this.
