by skyrack I actually queried Llewellyn's weight with the Racing Post and got this reply: Thank you for your email. You're correct in that the weight shown in the Racing Post results is the actual weight carried, although a jockey's allowance is able to reduce the horses weight below the 'minimum weight' stipulated in the race conditions. So in the example you have given, 8-6 was the correct and actual weight carried for Llewellyn. We hope this helps. Skyrack Quote Fri Jan 22, 2016 3:38 pm
by GB Thanks for checking about the weight. I have learnt something today! I do keep forgetting the converse rule with the Sepharial method G. Quote Fri Jan 22, 2016 4:32 pm
by ModWasp 3pm Ascot Any suggestions? I've had a small forecast bet based on Saturn's ant. and angular Uranus (equal house) today. 1st)Un De Sceaux 2nd)Vibrato Valtat Edit: Having said that, there are cases for Sire De Grugy (1st aspect, Campanus), Simply Ned (LotH - Mars - red silks) and - my fav - Traffic Fluide (1st aspect from 5th to ant of Neptune, equal house). 17 by skyrack In the absence of weight differentials in this race, using Sepharial's Eclipse method but with Official Ratings setting the scale (I doubt these were available in his time, or he may have used them in preference to weights?), SIRE DE GRUGY is indicated. Quote Sat Jan 23, 2016 11:40 am
by ModWasp I also had a look at Blacklister - but i've backed Sea Of Flames instead. Edit: I have it in an e/w treble with Theos Charm and Elusive Ellen. I think there's also some handicap races today that i'm going to have a quick look at too Verum e Quote Sat Jan 23, 2016 12:15 pm
by ModWasp Three winners for you today Saturnhead - well done mate. Had 2 out of three myself - but Theo's Charm let me down for nearly 5 bag on my treble. Verum e Quote Sat Jan 23, 2016 5:54 pm
by Jupiterhead Not happy with that, AG - you had bigger priced winners. Coming back tomorrow, like a boss, lol. Looks like I'll be up all night... If it's not astronomically true, it's not astrologically true. Quote Sat Jan 23, 2016 6:39 pm
by ModWasp I'll be looking at the racing tomorrow morning - but all my attention will be focused on the Arsenal vs. Evil Empire game. But there's 2 interesting cards tomorrow at Chelmsford and Leopards Town - lets start a new thread. And my favourite is running - Faugheen - i love that horse! It's pity he's such a small price though! 4/11! Verum e Quote Sat Jan 23, 2016 6:54 pm
