No, I always take into account the positions in the radical chart for this. I've never really counted out points as such but looked at the overall situation. I do take the position of the planet in the turned chart into account on some level, however. For example, if the lord of the seventh is in the seventh then I will see that the opposition's planet is in its own first house but I would still consider the planet in the seventh house of the radical chart. It doesn't make sense to me to see it one way for one team and another for the other team. For example, if Jupiter is the primary significator of the first team and it is in the tenth house, Jupiter is in a position of strength on account of its elevated and angular position. You can't then say that, as far as the opposition is concerned, Jupiter is in the fourth house and therefore it is in a position of weakness and is not a threat.

Tom, I take your point expressed above that in sports charts each team needs to differentiate between its own houses when it comes to trophies etc. However, I agree with Deb that the radical chart needs to be the primary consideration when looking at house positions. We can still consider the planet that represents the trophy as being in the 10th house of the first team but in the fourth house of the second team without affecting the overall position and strength of the planet itself. From what I can understand of Bonatti's castle besiegement chart, which is essentially just a battle between two teams, he sticks to the radical chart when determining the position of planets in houses.

I can`t speak for Tom, but I believe he uses John Frawley method, so the favourites get the ASC, the underdogs the DSC.
