I am not Russian, I am Polish. My grandfather was Russian. I don't know which chart most Russian astrologers use, when I was reading Russian websites and forums two days ago had an impression that would be 12/06/1990 1:45pm chart. Well known astrologer Mikhail Levin uses chart for begining of Rurik's reign in Novgorod - July 6, 862 but I also found this date is criticized by other astrologers.
I think the best you can do is to do some research on your own and decide if that chart would be most useful for forecasts. Obviously 12 June 1990 chart was useful for Irina Senina that I quoted who converted her cash savings into dollars. I am quite certain there must be Leo rising in the chart of Russia and Moon (people) should be in Aquarius. Russians are Aquarius type people, the same as Polish and Ukrainians and probably some other Slavic nations.
I see no points in multiplying nation charts, I usually use the most recent one. Would 862 year chart work for Russia? Perhaps, maybe, possibly but over the centuries it was overlain by other horoscopes. Also the 1990 chart could be outdated in few hundred years or maybe not, we will see.

I value the work and input of Nicholas Campion but I don't rely on his charts in 100%. What he published is only a draft that should be discussed by astrologers in countries described in the book. As I said the chart he proposed for Poland was quite random and it just doesn't work. Also the chart for Israel (Ascendant 0 Scorpio) should be at least discussed. Ben-Gurion could declare anything at 4pm but the British Mandate of Palestine hasn't expired yet at that time. Even the Wikipedia says: "At midnight the British Mandate of Palestine is officially terminated and the State of Israel comes into being."
You can know that for sure only of you dig deeper, you read documents in the local language or speak with people from that nation.

thanks wojtek,

i appreciate the additional comments.. as for the women astrologer who made a good guess on the currency dynamic - that is not enough reason to use her recommendation for me... i think your suggestion to work it out by using any of these charts is a good way to go and generally what i do.. as i said earlier in the thread - i haven't spent any real time on a chart for russia... however i think it is rather simplistic to think of russia or russians as leo rising with moon in aquarius... i don't think that is a good way of getting at a valid chart for russia...

i like michael lutin, but don't know of mikhail levin! i looked him up and see there are a few links where he is directly or indirectly involved in..

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w5pAn38BYHE

this is him talking on mundane astrology and it has a part 2.. however, it is in russian so inaccessible to me..

his approach of using the oldest chart for russia has a lot of merit... all the rest of the historical data is stacked up onto this... i know other mundane astrologers who share a similar attitude about using older dates for countries, so he falls into this category too... with this in mind, i am sharing the chart that mikhail levin uses here for further consideration... thanks again - james
