FYI, the London Financial Times magazine of 27 August carried an article on the discovery (author stephen.pincock@journalist.co.uk) which concludes as follows:

"...the rules of naming things in space dictate that, if 2003 UB313 is designated a planet, it should be named after a Graeco-Roman god. Sci-fi writers seem to fancy Persephone as the best name for the 10th planet. Anything, frankly, would cause fewer classroom sniggers than Uranus".

So, apart from how you pronounce mine or his or hers, "Persephone" could be now be worth a punt for the non-risk-averse. It should be possible to get odds at least 50-1 right now. As for "Xena", about 100000:1 I should think.

why not name it Artemis, a pofile similar to Xena ?

Clemence; I call you old fashioned. I'm all in favour of this warrior princess, I dont really know enough to give an informed opinion on this subject, but my gut reaction is hurray...!
