13 by Martin Gansten Personally, I'm happy to see sidereal charts welcomed in all forums, so I don't think the thread needs moving. I'll see if I can figure out how to post the chart. Otherwise, Porphyry is very close to Alcabitius. james_m wrote:here is the thing for me... you wrote a book on primary directions and gave examples throughout the book, but you also said you mostly only look at conjunctions and oppositions and ignore a lot of the other passing aspects - sextiles, trines and such... I don't think I said that. Do you have a reference? I certainly do pay attention to all classical aspects (though sextiles are often rather weaker than the rest). https://astrology.martingansten.com/ Quote Thu Feb 25, 2021 8:18 pm
14 by james_m martin, i am not sure why i got that impression, but upon closer consideration, aside from not remembering you ever giving an example in the example charts, i had thought you didn't pay too much attention to the trines and sextiles... but in looking at the settings you give in the back of your book, you do include trines and sextiles, so i am wrong... either way - it is great you commented as it sheds more light on your approach which i find very useful... thanks - james regarding this topic of moving posts from here to the sidereal, i am not sure what thereses motive is! why can't it stay here therese? it is relevant to mundane astrology as i see it, so i too see no need to move it.. cheers - james Quote Thu Feb 25, 2021 8:30 pm

(And Mark has criticized me for purposely emphasizing the sidereal zodiac.) So finally Deb started a Sidereal forum. I'm as happy as anyone to see the restrictions lifted so those of us who use a sidereal zodiac can freely post anywhere! More power to open communication and learning among astrologers!! We are truly finally into the 21st century on Skyscript. http://www.snowcrest.net/sunrise/LostZodiac.htm Quote Thu Feb 25, 2021 9:50 pm
16 by Ouranos Thank you Martin for your reading and approach with the terms. Always nice to hear your voice! Therese Charts can be drawn in all House systems on astro.com https://www.astro.com/faq/fq_fh_owhouse_e.htm Agree with you, as long as we identify what system we work with, it should benefit overall knowledge for everyone. And I have noticed clearer answers with the Sidereal in Horary. I haven't reached a final statement on this but I am walking slowly in that direction (I have a Tropical cast in my brain!) James My approach in PD is not so much the aspect itself but the repetition from the natal chart. If you have a trine between Sun and Saturn in the natal, a contact (any aspect) will awaken the natal aspect). And I realized that I should have emphasized it more in the case of Harris here. The Sun in Libra in Fall is like saying 'You get to the top... almost." She needs to stay away from overt confrontations to preserve her vitality (Sun). It does suggest someone who likes well-done jobs and who is able to take responsibilities in team-work (Libra). Wise administrator looking for long-term results. Blessings! Most of us in the west (outside of India) began with a tropical cast in our brains. We had no choice as that was all that was taught as far as the zodiac was concerned. But with further research and study, especially in checking transits to older charts, we were forced to change our perspective. Name of the game, I guess!! I made the switch myself after ten years working in the tropical zodiac. http://www.snowcrest.net/sunrise/LostZodiac.htm Quote Fri Feb 26, 2021 5:42 pm
