Yes, I know what equation of time is: it is precisely the difference between LAT and LMT. So you think the problem with Morinus is that it calculates LAT incorrectly? That's a possibility that didn't occur to me; thanks for the suggestion.

I don't know if Morinus calculates the LAT correctly or not. I have never checked this setting carefully, also because it is always possible to use the LMT. However, by wasting a few time, it is possible to do the verification.

Hi Martin,

I checked in Morinus the calculation of the charts with the LAT. IT IS OK !!!
There is a difference of a few seconds.

Alas, not so with the version I use (traditional, v. 5.9): for 16:48:00 LAT I get a tropical Asc of 1Vi16; for 16:59:11 LMT I get 5Vi20. I know there are later versions of Morinus (perhaps even of the traditional variant); do you suppose that is where the problem lies?

I use the modern version (v810) and on this the LMT to LAT are applied correctly. The download is available at the link below:

The last traditional version is v620, released by Robert Nagy:

Even if I don't know in detail the codes of this part of the programs, in particular those of the traditional version, I seem to remember that in the two versions they were identical. Are you sure you have entered the correct data? In doing the verification on the modern version, I was wrong twice ...

I can't check now. I'll try within this week.

Yes, I entered first 16:48:00 LAT and then 16:59:11 LMT (the latter as specified by you; I didn't double-check it). I'll have to check the later versions of Morinus when time permits. If you find any other clues, do let me know, and thank you.
