True, this isn't an ordinary 10th house matter, especially when you don't much care for the job. It is the 9th house.

But I think the Sun is very descriptive of your teacher. This sun rules and combusts the mercury (your 9th). His approach is fiery, he is aloof (exalted), he is private and not doing this for money or career advancement or publicity (the 4th, as opposed to the 10th), he has a certain kind of authority over you (Sun), and you are so in awe you are willing to turn your life upside down to study with him (Sun combusting both your 9th and your 10th).

But it is your call and I will respect any planet you choose.

My hunch is that although it would be difficult to be geographically quite close to him (for reasons other and I suggested), you will still be able to learn from him. This Sun-Mars-Jupiter interplay means more than I thought. I think the angular Mars has lots to do with the total and intellectual nature of your proposed move.

I think that's definitely wise. Besides what's already been mentioned pointing to a 'no' in this chart, the biggest thing that stood out as a red flag to me was Venus about to square Pluto, i.e., the job would have a very stressful and challenging effect on your friendship and hopes & wishes in general (Pluto being the 2nd ruler of 11th).

And with Sun and Moon also about to square Pluto and both coming from your 8th, it seems like the whole situation would be like the proverbial 'going the wrong way on a 1-way street' type scenario.
