James, I suppose one can argue whether Linchi's work with the nodes can be called 'definitive', but due to my work with transits I'm convinced that the Mean Node is more precise. It's simple mathematics. So I no longer work with the 'true' node. Of course the zodiac issue is relevant here as tropical and sidereal transits over time will give different values for the nodes when compared to natal positions.

I didn't want to convince you with my work, but I am very curious to know how and when you can be convinced, James ?

What do you think is the definitive answer to this problem that has not been solved for so many years? Do you think that the astrology schools, no matter which one, can solve this problem definitively?

Feels good to see the Mean Node perform well here, since I have used mean node in my charts last year or so. Based on my intuitive sense only.
Which may be wrong however.

(But also I remember reading *Regulus Astrology volume about the rectification of presidents charts. And there he tells that he did an extensive study of directing the nodes to the angles and similar tests. His experience was the the Mean Node performed best.)

Now for the subject Ron Desantis. I looked at his chart and did see a pattern of very positive secondary progressions involving the two benefices, lasting a couple of years. Looks good for his future quest for presidency and popularity maybe. But without a birthtime it is still uncertain.

its a good question.. i don't know the answer.. sorry for the delay in a response to you, as for some reason i didn't see your response to me.. i don't know.. i think it is important to figure out what the meaning of the nodal axis is and this could be thought of in various symbolic ways.. i used to use the mean node all the time, and was encouraged to reconsider via my friendship with aj.. since this time of my immersion into indian astrology, i have also explored the idea of the relevance of parashari aspects and how this would play out differently then say using all aspects equally... there are so many different methods for use in astrology, i believe coming to hard conclusions is very tricky, perhaps impossible.. ultimately i remain open minded to all this..

i was examining zelenskys chart the past day or two, as i was curious about the solar return for him here, as it was his birthday a few days ago... he is in the 10th house profection - aquarius, with saturn taking on greater significance in the solar return chart... as it happens saturn is in a pretty exact 135 to the mean node in his natal chart, while being in a conjunction with transiting venus, also in aquarius in opposition to his natal saturn.. i was trying to figure out what it all might imply... one interesting observation i hadn't really made was how in the sidereal chart for zelensky so many planets are in detriment or fall - mercury, jupiter, mars and saturn to be exact... i believe this isn't considered great in my reading of indian astrology literature on the subject of planets.. his 2023 solar return is close to the mercury return for his chart, although i haven't looked at the mercury return chart... at any rate - more astrological ideas to ponder.. there are so many ideas to ponder!
