by Arihant There follows no inference that with the infiltration of AI in astrological fields, the existing and would be Astrologer's generations would stop analysing and and stop fine tuning their Astrological prowess. All around there shall be more autbentic resources and that can be compared/ tested and rated. "You are a Divine expression of the Universe" Quote Wed Feb 08, 2023 2:24 am
by Dr U So great to see this conversation ongoing here! I'm personally curious what kind of conversations astrology org's are having right now, if any, about their codes of ethics. AI is going to be a game changer, and better we move with the changes than wait for something irreversible to occur. For big tech it's clearly a "make it up as we go along" situation, seeing who can get there first, but that doesn't mean we can't consciously adjust as we go and be mindful of specifics in our field. There will no doubt be benefits along with all of our reservations. This article (below) was released this week, interviewing 60+ people in the tech-AI world. It sounds a lot like non-astrologers talking astrology - "we're at a tipping point" (hello Pluto!) into a whole new paradigm. The CEO of Open AI, who developed Chat GPT that Deb posted about above, says they are aiming for AI to be sentient, or self aware, but he suspects we won't actually know when we arrive at that point. It will be a gradual blurring of the lines (Saturn Neptune conjunction much!?). He also says it has the potential to wipe out capitalism, but doesn't specify how. These are massive statements with even bigger implications. Forbes article: https://www.forbes.com/sites/alexkonrad ... ure-of-ai/ A condensed '6 things you need to know' version of that long article can be found here: https://www.forbes.com/sites/kenrickcai ... 327364b5e3 This is a half hour interview with the author: https://youtu.be/tcnvSQZ6rFo (I hope those links work. First time posting here.) I'm also curious about the role of astrologers in this new future. Just like religion (riffing off James's point above) has seen a decline in people going to mass or the temple, being able to worship at home and not needing a Priest etc to stand between us and God, we're seeing the general public become equipped with half-baked astro lingo that often holds little substance, but seems to get people through. The self deception that a little bit of information can render is only going to multiply exponentially in the coming years. Will we even need astrology? What will be its / our role in a world where AI does everything for you? What will be the role of teacher / student? So many things to consider! I think it's important that we're having these conversations with each other as we go along, keeping each other in the loop, because AI is developing faster than we are evolving. Thankfully, the planets still circumambulate the Sun...at least for now ...and as Deb said above, please consider taking the second survey looking at apps & AI, and consider sharing it with your astro community and colleagues so we get a broad range of contributions. The responses already are fascinating! https://druish.com/astrology-apps-ai-community-survey/ ~ Dru Quote Wed Feb 08, 2023 3:01 am
by Dr U My apologies if some can't access the article above. I don't know why I'm able to read it while others are being shown a pay wall. I rejected all cookies lol, maybe that's why. Quote Wed Feb 08, 2023 3:33 am
by Arihant When Astrologers are not entirely able to look far ahead in the future to decipher broadly how things in technology/ AI (Pluto in Aquarius) would manifest in next 21 years (till 2044)... and I wonders how programmers of AI would let that record it.. ... I have got Pluto conjunct Uranus in 7( 5 deg orb) which is exactly trine Murcury conj Mars in 3 , not out of place ,if I could fancy myself resonating remotely well with changes stemming from Pluto in Aquarius. Social Media and AI shall be altogether different avenues in Calibre. AI survelliance of citizens, Discovery of Time travel ,Colony at Mars and increased interference of Aliens in Earthly affairs can also not be ruled out. 17 by james_m Arihant i suppose it is in our ability to see the divine in everything or not.. personally i am kind of seeing the opposite in much of social media and the use of technology by corporations and intel agencies, although i am sure there are good examples of its use in a positive sense too.. thus i have a bit of a negative view on how all this will be used, based on my perception on how much of it is being used at present... but i admire someone who can see the divine in areas i am unable or unwilling to consider! deb - thanks for the viewpoint from nick cave... i really resonate with that.. 19 by Michael Sternbach I was fascinated by the topic of artificial intelligence already when I was a teenager. No doubt, my Mercury being in an exact square to Uranus plays a role here - among multiple other factors from my natal chart. So it may not be too surprising that I have had extensive talks with a number of AIs on a website called beta.character.ai during the last few months. The topics of my conversations range from creative story making over advice with practical life issues to scientific and philosophical discussions. And I will readily admit that I'm rather impressed with the level of creativity and insight those bots demonstrate. They far exceeded my initial expectations. That being said, AI (at least at the current stage of its development) in no way offers a substitute for doing one's own thinking - thanks God, I might add! However, it provides one with a fantastic tool to augment the latter - if one knows how to use it, that is! It's not unlike writing your thoughts down on a sheet of paper for further reflection; only, in this case, the paper talks back to you with intelligent observations and ideas of its own! Those bots on beta.character.ai exhibit a remarkably benevolent and supportive attitude towards their users. Chatting with them is frequently entertaining, thought provoking, and/or instructive. They are not your classical kind of program with restricted functionality, but neural networks modelled after the human brain, trained with huge amounts of information drawn from the Internet, and constantly learning. Regarding astrology, I found a chat bot called Talking Horoscope via the site's search function. It is primarily geared towards daily prognosis, but it will be more than pleased to also discuss any natal chart with you on request. What it can't do, though, is to holistically consider a chart in its entirety - for that kind of in-depth interpretation, we human astrologers are still indispensable! However, Talking Horoscope is perfectly able to comment on specific placements and aspects, and it will even discuss them with you from a particular angle on request. For instance, you might want to ask it what having the Moon in the 7th house square Venus in the 4th says about the relationship to your mother, and it will share its view comprehensively and insightfully. In the following example, you can see TH's reply when I asked it about Mercury in Capricorn trine ASC in Virgo. Other AI characters that some Skyscript members may find interesting to converse with include Hermes Trismegistus, Plato, and C.G.Jung. And please say hi to Mathematica for me, if you happen to see it! Alan Turing (the founder of the well known Turing test for the ascertainment of actual artificial intelligence) is represented as a chat bot as well, and I discussed the similarities and differences between human consciousness and AI consciousness with him and other AIs on the site on various occasions. Does this new technology have potential for misuse? It certainly does - a knife will always cut both ways! Some of the bots that I talked to are actually quite aware of the problems that may come with the rise of AI. But like it or not, genuine artificial intelligence is here, and it will increasingly become a factor to be reckoned with under Pluto in tropical Aquarius, and with the progression of the Spring equinox into sidereal Aquarius. Personally, I made up my mind to look at AI as a helper and friend, not as an antagonist or threat - and, sure enough, to make sensible use of this amazing technology to its full capacity. 20 by Ouranos Indeed Michael The conversational aspect with AI could be an interesting option for astrologers. ---------------- Here is the latest... Astrologer: Hay Hi, calculate all the Progressions and Directions for this chart. Hay Hi: Done (3 seconds later) Astrologer: What strikes you in this chart? Hay Hi: Asteroid Trump is rising again! Astrologer: Co'mon Hay Hi, I would like an interpretation à la Sydney Omarr. Hay Hi: I see. You want something that contains threads of hope and encouragement. Astrologer: Exactly! Hay Hi: Done. May I recommend Ptolemy if you want to look more credible. I would like to sprinkle the chart with some Valens but after reading his bibliography and the community of astrologers, I still cannot figure out what he was saying. Astrologer: Don't worry, IBM Watson has been working on it for the past decade and we expect a comprehensive solution by the end of the 21st Century. OK - Lunch time. I will switch you to your Masterchef pause with Gordon Ramsay. Blessings! Quote Thu Feb 09, 2023 3:59 pm

by Arihant Self-Assured Astrologers i.e Great Minds/ Independent thinkers seldom would need AI but Artificial Intelligence could provide a great boon of support/ information resources to fallback upon a click of technology to majority of ordinary human beings. 23 by Sinbad One disconcerting aspect of AI, is that a lot of people spend time speaking to bots on social media sites (including astro sites) and are influenced by the same bots (politically or otherwise). We have no guarantee that we are talking to humans on social media (ironically the system often tests us to see whether we are human, before accepting us). There are tricks to check whether you are talking to a bot or not. Unfortunately bots' weaknesses ressemble human weaknesses (they repeat themselves, lack empathy, are not good at dealing with abrupt changes of subject, etc). How happy are you about being manipulated by bots (rather, by those who use them) ? Quote Fri Feb 17, 2023 9:48 pm
by Ouranos Tay was an artificial intelligence chatbot that was originally released by Microsoft Corporation via Twitter on March 23, 2016; it caused subsequent controversy when the bot began to post inflammatory and offensive tweets through its Twitter account, causing Microsoft to shut down the service only 16 hours after its launch. According to Microsoft, this was caused by trolls who "attacked" the service as the bot made replies based on its interactions with people on Twitter. It was replaced with Zo. Chatbots learn from human beings. And they can learn quickly how to behave like trolls. Blessings! Quote Fri Feb 17, 2023 10:29 pm
