by Wisdom Joy Thank you so much for your analysis. A couple points of clarification. 1. It’s not that she relies on his referral specifically, she has a number of referrals to the firm, she just chose him since they both worked at the same firm before. Not together, just same company. 2. It doesn’t matter who the referral is coming from, as long as you have one then you should likely get an interview. For example, she also has a referral from someone in HR and other more senior consultants. She knows about 5-6 people at the firm. 3. She’s won three awards at her current job in the last year and she’s up for promotion at the end of this year. High performer is an understatement. 4. You are right, he can’t help her- they might not even cross paths again on a project when she joins the firm. It’s project based and you get staffed based on the needs of the work. 5. The firm is very difficult, the majority of people who go there have issues. It’s more can she overcome the issues? My assumption is yes, but she needs a clear path forward if she's going to leave and go somewhere else. It would make no sense to go to another firm and just drown, basically. 14 by Ouranos Wisdom Joy, I think MA (the firm) being in the 3rd House means also that the decisions like promotions are taken 'remotely', not close enough to the employees thus a potential for lack of transparency, fairness and justice for the employees. Blessings! Quote Sun Mar 05, 2023 2:40 pm
by Wisdom Joy I agrée with this and i think it’s super similar to our firm also. Like so much of these promotions decisions are quite subjective but firms really present them as objective- if that makes sense. It will come down to if people are receptive to her and willing to advance her more than her actual work. Thank you! WJ Quote Sun Mar 05, 2023 3:32 pm

Let me please explain some points for a better understanding of my judgement: 1. The question has been asked about the application based on the referral of this specific consultant, 2. and so not on the referral of any other or one of the 5-6 people at the firm she knows. 3. The querent is certainly that award winner and high performer, as you say, in her current firm. I never would doubt your words. But in this question, in the context of her actual question now, she does not perform as this person you discribe: The small dignity of her significator (Mars) does not correspond to her true qualities, and this is why his position in the 8th testifies her problems and difficulties she would have with this application. 4. The point is not if he could help her in the new firm, but if he would help her to get there (into the firm) at all. 5. The question has not been if she could overcome the issues there, but if she could get a job there, i.e. if her application would even be accepted. And even though the constellation is promising (because of the translation of light) I thought the success of this application could be questionable because of the dignitiy of her Mars and missing receptions in general. 18 by Wisdom Joy Update: I think I figured out the cadent house, apparently the firm has been giving everyone interviews, declining them- and keeping them in a pool. I know that cadet often represents months and delays. L1 is still submitting their referral on schedule but will likely talk to the recruiters about holding off on interviewing for round 1 and 2, until the market conditions shift and the process isn't so strenuous. I did the same thing for the firm that I'm connecting with- and they were more than willing to accommodate. my assumption is that L1 will be required to wait at least 3 months before being able to interview- which I think is in line with timing of the chart. Fingers crossed still, tbh she doesn't need to be the best person in the pack, she just needs to gain an offer and then we can run a chart asking about her success at the firm. Thank you! 19 by johannes susato WJ, to understand your update correctly: Is the current referral that of the junior consultat you mentioned in your first post? Quote Tue Mar 21, 2023 3:57 pm
by Wisdom Joy Yea, same referral! L1 could look for a newer referral but I advised against it given the updated circumstances. Thank you! WJ Quote Tue Mar 21, 2023 4:11 pm
by Wisdom Joy Update: Referral has been submitted for the firm. L1 noted two service lines of interest and the general consultant position. More to come on the conversation they will be having with the recruiting team. Thanks all. Thank you! WJ Quote Sun Mar 26, 2023 9:02 pm
by Wisdom Joy Update: still waiting to hear back from recruiting. Apparently there are delaying start dates for MBA applicants that have been given offers and they are slowing hiring completely. As long as L1 can secure an interview they should be good and can wait on the right timing. Last edited by Wisdom Joy on Fri Apr 28, 2023 2:34 pm, edited 1 time in total. Thank you!
