Hi Hangala,

The two houses of primary concern in a job horary are the ascendant and the 10th house. So have a look at the panet that rules the ascendant in your chart and the planet that rules the 10th house. See if they are in an applying aspect and what sort of aspect that would be. An applying aspect between the two significators that is positive, i.e. trine, sextile or conjunction generally means a positive answer. Also look at the Moon. Have a look at the two main significators, along with the Moon and see whether there is any mutual reception between the planets involved. If you look at this information and explain what you think then I can let you know if you're on the right track.

Hi Hangala,

This is a great effort. You have taken notice of most of the important issues. It really does get easier the more you practise. As you said, your significator, Venus, and the significator of the job, the Sun, are both in the 9th house, which is relevant for a job involving tourism. Mercury is applying to the Sun but is currently combust the Sun and therefore in a weakened state. As you pointed out, the Sun and the Moon (your co-significator) are in an applying square. The Moon is in the 6th house too. This may mean that there will be difficulties with the job or that it is not what you thought it will be. However, a positive sign is that there is strong mutual reception between your co-significator, the Moon, and the significator of the job, the Sun. Sometimes strong mutual reception between the significators is enough to turn a difficult situation into a more positive one.

There is nothing better than to practise if you want to improve. What I would do under these circumstances is draw up a chart for the time of your interview. This is an event chart but it can be read in the same way as a horary chart. So if your interview is for 10am on Thursday, for example, then draw up a chart for that time and then use the same significators that you did this time. What you would hope to see would be the significator of the 1st house or the Moon, or preferably both, in an applying aspect to the ruler of the 10th house. Or perhaps it could be the other way around with the ruler of the 10th applying to the 1st. This would indicate the job coming to you.

Good luck with the interview.

Hangala, I won't add to the confusion on this thread by giving an interpretation because I am also new. I just wanted to encourage you and tell you not to be intimidated by your lack of knowledge. The experts on this site have been doing it a long time, and/or have strong backgrounds in astrology. Just keep trying. You and I will both learn. :D
