13 by Dima Gur Mark, Thank you for your thoughtful reply. I was able to note that astrologers who use the 1801 chart use a Libra ASC, which is usually pinned to a midnight time (or around that). Probably when the act of union came into effect. Can you confirm this as accurate? -- Late addition: Found this webpage which cites the 1801 chart, with source notes to one of Campion's mundane books: http://www.dominantstar.com/a_uk1801.htm -- On a sidenote: I prefer the skyscript forum as well by a longshot, over FB groups. Participation has dwindled a bit, but it seems to me that people in here are way more respectful and courteous. https://www.gurastro.com Quote Sat Sep 17, 2022 9:20 am

I've browsed through this discussion and wasn't able to decidedly tell, whether it's more 'consensus' to use the 1927 or the 1801 chart. Seems to me that the 1927 chart is more relevant since Ireland succeeded. I have never supported the 'Highlander'' view of national charts ie ''there can only be one!''. As Nicholas Campion has pointed out in his book of World Horoscopes a country can resonate with several seed moments throughout its history. Nevertheless, there is really no question that the UK 1801 chart is overwhelmingly the most popular chart for Britain amongst UK astrologers. And its certainly still is a radical chart for British affairs. Its popularity has been tested in praxis and noteable astrologers such as Charles Carter and Nicholas Campion have given it the nod of approval as the most radical chart. The only rival charts usually discussed are the charts for 1066 (England only) , 1707, or 1922. Some astrologers have experimented with these other charts. I do think the 1066 chart still has a lot of merit. However, like most astrologers I have found the 1707 and 1922 charts unsatisfactory. It can be argued though that the 1707 chart has particular relevance for English-Scottish affairs. However, the 1927 chart option was unknown until Maurice McCann's article in 2000. Very few UK astrologers have picked it up and seriously worked with it like myself. Even now I often get the argument this represented just a name change not a fundamental event. However, I would argue the modern United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern is quite a different state from that that came into being in 1801 when the whole of the Ireland of Ireland joined the United Kingdom. So while I wouldn't dispense with the 1801 chart I think the 1927 chart is the most appropriate for modern Britain. Actually, comparing the two charts is interesting as they show the faces of old and modern Britain. I intend to do some proselytising for this chart and am currently working on an article I hope to submit to either the UK Astrological Journal or ISAR. I will show there how this chart helped me predict the UK Brexit in 2016, Dima Gur wrote: Also, weirdly enough, astrodatabank doesn't have a page for the UK: https://www.astro.com/astro-databank/Ca ... or_Country Thanks for pointing that out. I will seek to address that omission by contacting them. Dima Gur wrote: And about the 1927 chart, it seems that the proper details are 12.4.1927 midnight, London. As this is the time the act came into effect Yes. Initially Maurice McCann's data can seem contradictory as he labels his proposed chart for 11pm GMT on April 11th but he states the act came into force at midnight. This is explained by the fact that British Summer Time was already in operation by then. So 11pm GMT=Midnight BST. Mark Hi Mark, Being an Archaeoastronomer, i look for intentional alignments, but i could be wrong, but my research is interesting, so i will go through the UK charts. The 1927 UK and Northern Ireland Data i will go through today, i'll start with the Chart at 23:00 on 11 April 1927. You will find one of the Stars i look for Sirius was setting, graph below:- https://i.imgur.com/Dz4XsYA.png It's not unusual for a chart to be marked twice, and we find that Egyptian day marker being sunrise on 12 April 1927 was marked, with Sirius on Nadir, graph below:- https://i.imgur.com/EXj4PlB.png Spinal injury gives lots of time for research. Sorry but the correct time for the chart is 11.00pm GMT or midnight BST. You seem to have used 11pm BST in your first link. I previously clarified this point at the very end of my last post to Dima Gur. I assume this means the in mundo setting star will not be Sirius at that time. However, presumably the Egyptian day marker star is still Sirius. Can I also comment it would be helpful to not just have data on a prominent fixed star for the day but also your astrological take on what you think this actually signifies here. 16 by Archaeoastronomer Hi Mark, My thoughts on this is that the ptb feel these are god stars therefore align them on important occasions, probably beliefs by hermetic mystics, with Isis being Sirius and Alnilam being Osiris. I thought i would continue with 1st May 1707, which would interest you. Obviously 1st May 1707 would be Walpurgis Night. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walpurgis_Night The Illuminati used this night in Symbolism:- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Illuminati If it was used with the joining of Scotland to England, i dont know, but it looks suspicious. But there is an adjustment to be made as England was following the Julian Calendar in 1707, and our astrology programs are following the Gregorian Calendar from 1582, England didn't change calendars till 1752. So 11 days have to be added to 1st May, so we have to tap in 12th May, there isn't an alignment in London, but it was the last day of the Edinburgh Parliament, and here we see the Sun going down on the Scottish parliament with Alnilam, belt of Orion and Osiris star, which is very symbolic. 17 by Archaeoastronomer Hi Mark, Obviously you are aware of nearly 300 years before there was the next Scottish Parliament, the official opening was on 1st July 1999, link below:- https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-scotland-48828730 However it is marked at midnight where the transfer of power came from, being London, with Alnilam on the Nadir, graph below:- https://i.imgur.com/O08ivVX.png Next i will look at Wales Last edited by Archaeoastronomer on Thu Sep 22, 2022 8:43 am, edited 1 time in total. 18 by Mark Archaeoastronomer, Can I ask you to try you stay on focus in terms of the thread topic please? We are primarily discussing the UK 1927 chart here. Your welcome to open your own separate thread if you like on other UK charts. But as you have mentioned several charts I am already very familiar with I will briefly comment that I tend to cast the 1707 chart for both London and Edinburgh. I also have data for the last sitting of the old Scottish Parliament in 1707. The Scottish Parliament chart (1999) is a very interesting and useful. Intriguingly ,the Sun in the old Scottish Parliament final sitting is the same degree in Aquarius as the Moon in the 1999 chart. This is the same degree as the Moon of Nicola Sturgeon and the Sun of the Scottish Parliament Conservative leader Douglas Ross. Note: I am sorry but I had to delete the book link you gave above for the opening of the Scottish Parliament as it was massively distorting the size of the forum page.
