by Dave of Maryland Can I just add that it's your square between Mercury and Mars that can't stand the lies? At least that's what I've noticed in myself and others. Good observation. Mercury/Mars square (from Aquarius to Scorpio, two strong placements) can make one rather demanding. Dave www.AstroAmerica.com Better books make better astrologers. Treat yourself! Obama 15 by SGFoxe Well, he's certainly the most engaging of actors on the candidate trail. Like they said of John Lindsay millions of years ago when he was campaigning for the NYC mayoral -- "He's fresh when all the rest are tired." It may prove that he's Gore's stalking horse functionally neutralizing Hillary. Whatever the time Barack was born -- I'll go with the 1:06 pm, trusting to McEvoy's sound political instincts -- in any event, he was conceived November 1960, hypothetically the first Tuesday after the first Monday, November 8th -- the Ju/Sa conjunction that killed JFK coming to exactitude when he was emwombed -- and at birth, both retrograde, out of sign w/in a 5 degree orb. His secondary lunar progessions should bring these energies front burner (dare I whisper Tecumseh's Curse) ... some 5 & 10 months down the line. Sonja of the 48th Ward Quote Sun Mar 04, 2007 5:53 pm
by granny_skot There is a lot about Barack Obama that reminds me of JFK, JFK wrote two books, both best sellers, Obama currently has two books on the market both doing quite well. he is one of the younger people we've had attempt the presidency in a while. There are a lot of people who are sick of the old school politicians, so he just may be the dark horse ticket holder. Relatively little large government experience. There is something about Obama's wifes' behavior and demeanor that reminds me of Jackie. I think if we do have a surprise winner, he has a strong contention. I think I'd rather like to see him and John Edwards run together. I'm rather heartily sick of the current snake pit myself. His wife made a comment that I rather liked. When asked about being afraid for him running for president she replied. "My husband is a black man, his life is in danger just waiting for a bus." then said that danger is no reason to not do a thing. interesting and well composed woman. When JFK ran for president his religion was a contention, Barack has the same issue, different religion. I think in his case he could really do a similar run. hopefully with a better outcome. In anycase an Edwards /Obama ticket would be refreshing. I like Al Gore, but I really dont think his heart is in it. Hillery has some strong alignments for the next election, so she just might pull something out of this race. Her natal chart however is one huge square. Al Gore, Hillery, Obama and edwards all have strong presidential alignments in their charts, but none of them has a good 13 cancer alignment, and while I've been looking at presidential elections that seems to trump darn near everything, so I think I"ll just wait a bit and see what pops up. I keep hoping Barack has one in his angles since he doesn't have one in his planets... although that North Node Aligned with Regulus may be the telling point here. Obama does have some good alignments! You will find many singers with an strong Algol placement in their chart so it maybe that the moon aligned with Algol, if indeed it is, may be his compassionate speaking voice... 17 by Gunhilde Obama declared on a void of course Scorpio moon, Granny. I doubt he'll make it through the primaries. I didn't know Al Gore declared! When was this? He was just on the Oscars saying he wasn't going to do it. Quote Mon Mar 05, 2007 7:45 pm
by 1000Camels I know that Obama formally declared his candidacy on a difficult day astrologically, but has the forum considered that he formed his exploratory committee on Tues January 16, 2007? Reportedly, Obama hand delivered the paperwork to the Federal Election Commission in Washington, DC first thing that morning (Washington Post). I put up a chart for 9:30 am (7 PIS 10), as good a time as any for handing in official papers; the ASC ruler and the Moon are much more favorable with a nice presidental looking trine between Jupiter and Saturn. A 9am chart isn't bad either. It's widely accepted that though candidates declare formally with a big speech and cheering crowds, the actual campaign begins as soon as they are able to begin rasing money. A candidate cannot legally commence to raise funds--in other words, campaign--until the moment he files with the FEC. Just a thought. Quote Tue Mar 06, 2007 3:37 pm
by Lainie It was said: "Well, he's certainly the most engaging of actors on the candidate trail. Like they said of John Lindsay millions of years ago when he was campaigning for the NYC mayoral " etc.... For those who weren't around then or not in the NY area, Lindsay WASN'T a great mayor. Charm can carry a person far, but experience (and talent for the job) is much better. Lainie Lainie Quote Thu Mar 15, 2007 11:37 pm
by SGFoxe I was pretty young at the time, but I thought Lindsay more competent than Abe Beame, his successor .... And when it comes to grabbing the attention of America -- a charismatic personality will do it more than competence The fault lines w/Obama are the people he's endorsed -- Al Sharpton has taken umbrage at Obama endorsing Lieberman, and I think his endorsement here locally of Todd Stroger is pretty smelly, especially since it was gratuitous -- eg he didn't have to do it -- except for some back office deal -- Also, no real legislation, either in DC or locally in Illinois when he was a state legislator But he is charismatic and therefor a political phenomenon ... I believe he's a stalking horse for a late (November/December) entry by Gore -- but that of course remains to be seen. Sonja from the 48th Ward Quote Fri Mar 16, 2007 5:53 pm
by granny_skot Obama is definitely a product of the illinois political machine, which along with Louisiana are contenders for the smelliest political arena's in the US. So yeah, he's probably got some less than sterling recommendations in his background. will be interesting to see what they are when they come up. Granny Quote Fri Mar 16, 2007 8:06 pm

Don't forget New Jersey. These three states, Louisiana, Illinois and New Jersey are generally acknowledged to be the most corrupt states in the Union. Arkansas used to be, but when Bill Clinton became President, and his corruption made manifest, Arkansas cleaned up their act a bit and fell out of the top spot. Now what do all of these staes have in common. Think a minute. It will come. Tom Quote Fri Mar 16, 2007 11:16 pm
