Lilly used Regiomontanus; he's a "most successful" astrologer.

I've used both Placidus and Regiomontanus, and much prefer Regiomontanus, especially for questions of timing. I've timed things down to the arcminute with Regio; when I compared the same chart using Placidus, it was way off.

I think everyone can use whatever their preference is: some people actually like using Koch. Whatever floats your boat. But it seems that most of the 'old' astrologers, as well as many, if not all current astrologers, use the Regiomontanus system. There's no need to jump down someone's throat just because they've pointed this out.

I always look at Placidus, Regio & Koch and then determine which seems to be most descriptive of the question. I find it especially useful if there is an intercepted house. I also consider what the whole house system would be when dealing with intercepted houses.

I've never been taught to do this. Just seems to work out well for me.

Gunhilde,

Olivia Barclay goes on to say Lily used Regiomontanus house system. She found the house cusps very accurate with timing.

Most of us who have looked into Horary would know of Olivia Barclay - she passed on about 2 years ago now, God Bless Her.

There are numerous other succesful Astrologers I could have mentioned but it hardly seemed worth the effort to respond to the particular post.

I'm sorry. I guess people get carried away with the wrong topic of a thread sometimes.

I'll take a peak but I've never done such a question. If I have any opinion, I'll post it.

Montpellier,

I do aplogise to you. I should have kept on track no matter what.

Using Regiomontanus house system the considerations for the chart are:

Asc near Boundary Sign - 27/09 Gemini

Moon is fast.

When the rising degree is in late degrees of the Sign the chart is considered to be invalid or not radical unless the querent is around 27 years of age plus.

Your Asc is Gemini and your significator, Mercury is in the 5th House of creativity and children. Scorpio is on the 6th House Cusp and Mercury is in 5th of creativity, in Libra. Mercury and Mars are in a nice trine in air, so maybe some gossip about you- I believe they like you well enough.

Do they make fun of you behind your back? They may do this. Mercury indicates a young person and you may seen as immature by your co-workers. :sg :)
