My reaction #3: I misunderstood what you were getting at. But it does make life simpler.

Thank you very much for your enlightening post. Now it makes so much sense It's a great help in interpreting the lots.

I feel so much better I've finally understood your point and will gratefully accept your offer of a drink, recalling a radio presenter at the Rosenburg match the other day was complaining that a pint cost as much as ?3 in Norway!

Spirit party at Andrew?s house! He?s in Norway, so there?s gonna be fish. ... ? ...
No problem. I?m ? Norwegian so I think I?ll manage just fine. I am a little worried about my 50% Ukrainian portion. Those Slavs at a party, you know...Wild times and desperation for everyone! Hurray!

That must have been non-alcoholic then. A pint will cost you ?6,- with ease. Fortunately I brew my own beer, so that won't offer any problem. Yeah - we can have fish! :lala

And bring a shovel in case of snow!

How can you afford to live there? It's bound to require a lot of Spirit... and Fortune. No wonder my ancestors left and found the good life in Minnesota! (On second thought, It's better in Minnesota, the state that often has the lowest continental US temperatures?)

Gem and I will be at your doorstep shortly. Please let us in. It's cold out there.

Looks like you live in a beautiful fairyland, Andrew, with home-made beer and fish plentiful.
Yes Kirk and I are already there in Spirit, but physically we have to organise a Skyscript tour bus first.

Because the Sun comes first during day and the Moon comes first during night.
I'm not sure this solves the problem. The part of fortune is also called the part of the Moon and it is the part of the Moon in a day chart. In fact the part of fortune is the position where the Moon would be if the Sun were on the ASC, and this is in a day chart. I do not understand given these definitions why sect is so important in the formula.
The arbians must have had a reason for this division - or were they simply at err and trying to make things difficult.
If reversal originated with the Arabs I would agree that they complicated a nice simple system. Unfortunately Paulus, a fourth century Greek calls for reversal despite Ptolemy not doing so. But all of this begs the question: if there is a reason for reversal, what is it? If we grant priority in a day chart to the Sun, why call the part or lot the part (or lot) of the Moon, and then reverse it in a night chart so that we get the day time part of the Sun? I don't think there is any logic to this at all, but it definitely does have authority on its side.

I have entered the nocturnal Part of Spirit in over a decade of clients charts and will go through my notes and see if I can come up with some examples. Does anyone else have any experience from using the Part of Spirit?

Can we legitimate changing the dispositions (rulerships) of the triplicities by day and night?
