'Should have' does not solve the problem, but I think you did fine today. I really appreciated you coming out into the light and airing your mind regarding the matches at hand. The information was well structured (as always) and it made it easy to examine the challange. Todays games were not the easiest ones of the pick, however, we should still try to determine why Arsenal and Liverpool won. At least that puts my mind at rest or we have got something to look for on a later occasion.

Interestingly enough, the game between Benefica and Nacional ended 0-0, which was off the favourite and gave 4.10:1 return for anyone who bet on the draw. This was probably one of the most valuable games of the day. Personally, I felt it could go either way and hadn't got the guts to do anything, but I still feel it served as a good study.

Comment: A week prior an underdog took the victory in a Norwegian ice-hockey game. This chart also had Moon opposite MC, but here the Moon was 3 degrees Scorpio in the degree of it's fall, which described the underdog as coming from the depths of disaster.

I forgot to check out potential for draw. There is one sign for draw and that is Moon applay to malefic, Ma.
Usually I like to see 2 signs for draw, but here it was one, and maybe because it was so close to angles, and because it was only and last Moon's aspect it result in draw. Nice example!

In the Liverpool and Benfica games, the odds-on home faves had no testimonies but the away underdogs did. Nacional had the number 1 testimony in the hierarchy - bodily emplacement (Moon conj L4) which was sufficient to get them a draw but not a win. Sunderland had aspectual testimonies which are lower in the hierarchy so were ineffective, as suspected beforehand.

I think these are two good examples, although we may never see exactly the same set-up again

The ManC/Arsenal result makes sense if Arsenal had got the Asc, but that's easy to say with hindsight. A one-off like this won't persuade me to change methods

Very interesting point re your draw testimony. We had the same aspect in the Liverpool game but in that chart the planets were not angular, so no draw. As you say, nice example.

I have got two matches under observation for going off the favourites today. Speculative - but they offer a fair bet.

The first match is in Holland between Ajax - Feyenoord, 11.30 GMT. These two teams are in 3rd and 4th position in their league. The Sun, L4, sits on an angle - namely the Midheaven, so I am looking for a draw at the price of 3.30:1. Comment: 3-0! It was the hr of Jupiter, who had exaltation in the ascendant, and was beneficial for the favourite.

The second match is between Newcastle-Middlesbrough, 13.30 GMT. It occurs in the hr of Jupiter with a CN asc. Jupiter is L10 and sits on the 7th together with Venus, who is exalted on the 10th. Saturn, L7, is close an angle. The Moon, L1, is detriment and cadent. This could prove useful to Middlesbrough who are only two places lower that Newcastle on the table. Uranus is in the 10th The away win is priced at 4.10:1. Comment: 1-1 No, it's the hour of Venus. Venus has the same powers as Moon, L1, but Venus is in the 7th and opposes the asc.

Rangers should be able to win away against Hibernian today, 12.00GMT, at the odds 1.65:1. Rangers are strong on any day, and Hibernian are at the other end of the table. POF at 6TA52 is trine Saturn, L10, and supports the favourite. Comments: 0-0 The hour of Jupiter has the same powers as the Gem asc. - viz. Mercury has control.

Barcelona - Osasuna is probably the default of the day with the odds 1.20 5.75 15.0. Barcelona are in 2nd position in the Spanish league, while Osasuna are struggling in the lower half. The game starts in the hour of Venus, who is L10. POF/POS is opposite Venus and trine Uranus. The favourite will be hard to topple. Comments: 1-0

Yes I should think it's generally a disadvantage, though apparently it wasn't in this case. Like Andrew I thought astrology didn't work at all here, with Liverpool, who hadn't been in a very good form winning without any testimony for them till I read:

The double whammy of being away and underdogs should be a very important factor to be considered in judgement.
I also find Moon aspects to be very unreliable, or as I said before, they are often impersonal. The testimonies for Sunderland were Moon aspects only.

On the other hand I don't see any surprise in the Man City/Arsenal result. The conjunction of the Moon and anti-Jupiter is a very powerful testimony. The afflicted state Mercury was in appeared plain to see for all, placed there on the most public part of the chart.

Now today's Newcastle/M'boro game looks interesting too(13:30; AC 6Can 1). NC are odds on faves but I don't see any testimony for NC. Their sig Moon is a bit too far down from the DC. Saturn(Mboro) is in applying sextile to the AC. A draw or Mboro's win?

Should we select the Newcastle-Middlesbrough game as our 'Match of the Day'? It is good if we can have a weekly focus, or agree on a match which deserves attention. Note, I also tried to sort my evaluations according to 'Outsiders - but a fair bet' and 'The favourites look strong'. I believe the more orderly we are according to the games and prostignation, the more useful and accurate the study becomes. It seems to be a good idea to flick through the charts to see which games are worthy of attention, or if there is a lack of testimonies - we should take a note of how that works out, too.

I puzzled long and hard over Newcastle/Boro. By the way, Gem, I have Asc 10,27 Cancer. You have to be careful with this one, as I discovered to my cost a while ago, because the default for Newcastle (in SF at least) is Newcastle under Lyme. So you have to enter Newcastle upon Tyne to get the correct coordinates.

Jupiter (L10) is exactly conj Desc. I had difficulty deciding whether this was a strong testimony for Newcastle or not, since it's neither one side nor t'other. Since the game is more likely to kick off late than early, I think it will favour Newcastle, so I've gone for a win for them. I still have some doubts though, so it will be interesting to see how it works out.

I did find some testimonies but got in a complete muddle trying to allocate the Asc. In the end I went for a 1-1 draw.
