In Meridian the ascendant is often in a different sign from Placidus

Mars in the charts of sport champions (Gauquelin) was statistically highly significant, but was in practice unusable. Because, in reality it applied to about 1 in 200 sportsmen. Therefore, one could not predict: with Mars at the MC one will become a sportsman of high quality.

Hope you can get more data. There are plenty of criminals out there.

Hi woodwater,

"angular" simply means houses 1, 4, 7 and 10. I don't think that any planet makes anything. If a group of people has certain configuration slightly more often than what could be averagely expected, it's just that: certain people have a configuration slightly more than could be averagely expected. That group still contains a lot of people who don't have that configuration, and other people who have that configuration, don't belong into the group in question. Statistics (and especially astro-statistics!) is like that: you can never say for certainty that "here's this configuration, this person must be 100% that and period".

I've actually checked Placidus and Meridian houses in my study. In Meridian houses the Asc is still where it always is, it's just not the cusp of the 1st house.
