Hi Everyone,
I'm glad I sparked some debate regarding precession corrected charts vs. non-precessed ones. As I mentioned before, when I celebrated my birthday in San Diego last year (my aunt and grandparents live there), in my non-precessed chart I had a grand trine with Jupiter in the 2nd trining Moon in the 5th, which was trining Mars in the 9th conjunct the midheaven. Yet the past year was absolutely terrible (as it was for many other people as well due to the economic collapse). I can say that I went 7 months without any acting/modeling jobs and my monthly income also dropped from the English teaching I do here in Tokyo.

My birthday was exactly one month ago on July 26th and in focusing on a precession corrected solar return, I went to Istanbul, Turkey. The results so far are as follows:

The evening I came back to Tokyo (on Tuesday July 28th) I got a call from my agency and the following Monday I had a photo shoot for $1,000.

The next two and a half weeks following my photo shoot were a bit slow because of the Japanese national holidays (called "Obon").

Today I passed an audition for the Italian Opera "AIDA" which will be on tour here in Tokyo. Not only that, but I also received more good news from my agency that an commercial I did for NTT Docomo (a mobile service provider here in Japan) wants to extend my contract for another year and I'll get a free $3,000 which I'll receive in 2 weeks!

Tomorrow I'll be auditioning for another Italian Opera "DON CARLO" after my rehearsal and fitting for "AIDA". If I pass the DON CARLO audition I'll be netting another $2,500 and will be terribly busy with back to back rehearsals and performances until mid-September. Also, both operas are being produced by Teatro alla Scala, which is a famous opera house in Milan, Italy (home to such greats like Pavarotti and Tuscanini).

It's only been one month after I celebrated my precession corrected birthday in Istanbul and these are my results so far. All I can say that these results are way better than my non-precessed birthday in San Diego last year when everything dried up on me.

I think Steve may have a point because people like Bob Marks feel that precessing your solar return birthday chart is better on forecasting events. Another Australian astrologer, Dymock Brose, had this to say on his website:

"Precession does not apply to charts in the Sidereal Zodiac. If a chart in the Tropical Zodiac is precession-corrected, allowance is made for the slow backward movement of the Equinoxes. This means that the ? ' " of the Sun increase slightly every year in accordance with the Precession (which is about one degree in 71 years). By using precession-correction you maintain the true position of the Sun in the Heavens but its reading in ? ' " is always slightly ahead of the Natal reading.

If you want the ? ' " of the Sun in Solar Returns (whether Monthly or Yearly) to remain the same as the Natal reading don't use precession-correction. I have tried both methods over a long period and find that the precession-corrected Charts are much more indicative of events. (The same applies to Lunar Returns.)"

I'm no expert on astrology and I'm not necessarily singing the praises about precessed solar returns, but all I can say is that I'm liking the results ;-)

JulieYvonne - if you tell me your birth information as well as where you spent your past 2 birthdays I'll try to use my Janus software to calculate your precessed solar returns. I know that most people use Astro.com because it is free but it doesn't have a function for precessing solar return charts........

I have a long day tomorrow......AIDA rehearsals from 10:30am until 6pm and then the audition for DON CARLO from 6:15pm until 8pm. I'm off to bed!!

Exactly! If the astrologer is interesting in seeing possible events, accounting for Precession in a Solar Return is critical!

Without accounting for Precession for a Solar Return one does not get an accurate timed Solar Return. Without an accurate timed Solar Return, possible important events cannot be seen, regardless of the techniques used to analysis a Solar Return. It is critical to get the correct positions of the solar angles and the solar moon. The link below may help explain this factor of Precession.

Hi Steve,

You completely overlooked my idea that a radix chart sets its own framework of time and space as a lasting reference point. It doesn't need to be corrected to account for a consensus view established by the local physics department. I think that the astrologer who honors that and works with it does just fine. Fine, indeed, as the astrologer enters into the chart's particular enduring stamp of blended images which stands apart from yet crosses into our meat-and-potatoes-at-6:00pm world. In that sense radix charts can be compared to mythology ? but I'm cautious about going overboard with that idea.

Hi Steve,
I just checked out your link and thought it was an interesting read to say the least. I was wondering based on your expertise and the charts I posted (especially in reference to my precessed solar return in Istanbul), would you mind sharing your thoughts as to what events might possibly occur during the upcoming year? If so, would greatly appreciate it! ;-)

Hi,

I am a newbie this being my first post. This topic interests me.
There seems to be some controversy in how many
days are necessary to remain at the travel destination. Bob
Marks says 36 hours. But another astrologer who has been
travelling for years says you must stay for 8 days so that it
gels. This astrologer claims that it does change events
for the better if it is accessed correctly.

I am not an astrologer. I have Matrix software and can easily do
the Precession Corrected Solar Return, but have not idea
what I am doing in order to turn the wheel where I want it.
I also don't really know how to accurately look at a map and
locate the area I need to travel to. Is there any easy way of
calculating the degrees? Can this all be done with software?
Any feedback would be welcome.
