1755 Newmarket 14 Aug 09 RESULT

Seamus Shindig won at terrible odds.

Last Sovereign was 3rd. Royal Intruder not placed.

Seamus is Irish for James, meaning he who usurps (7th house?), and sun in leo for shindig. Obvious really! And hindsight is always 20/20 : )

Newmarket, 2009.08.15. 13:50 RESULT

Arabian Pride
Raakan
Granite Girl

Didn't see any Arabian Pride connection, can anyone else?

Granite Girl placed at 50/1 and with a pay out at 1/4 odds, well worth an each bet. (I didn't : ( )

Interestingly, Gabriel's Spirit at 100/1 was 1st out at the start and among the front runners for most of the running. Didn't place though.

Is this applying? I don't think so as antiscia degree will reduce as the cusp progresses??? Can anyone confirm that up for me please?
Yes, looks like to me it's separating.

I can't see it even now. :?

PallasAthene, could you give me the address of a good online "horse database"? I tried to google a few, but they were not too good.

Lingfield, today at 18:00. I'm trying to analyze.

5th cusp is at 23TA20. It's antiscion is at 6LE40, nothing there around.

Let's move the 5th cusp. Does a semi-sextile count? Antiscion-Pallas is at 23AR21, Mars is at 23GE32. Then, a square with Chiron at 23AQ43.

Pallas is in Virgo -> female winner? The favorite was Diggeratt, a mare, but she finished 3rd. The winner is Head Down, but I don't even know whether this horse is a he or she. :) That's why I need a database.

And one more question, sorry for my ignorance  where exactly are the races which are called (at least at my online betting service) "Festival Downs" and "Steepledowns"?

Frawley says be nice to yourself and look for major aspects and planets (but in Addey's methods anything goes). Just be aware of antiscia as they may aspect first and put you off the scent. (Are you only looking for antiscia? If so, stop!)

The closest connection to a major planet is 30 degree aspect to mars in gemini. Mars rules the HEAD. And is below the horizon? So DOWN lol

Major aspect is to chiron (but Frawley says don't bother with that. I don't think there are many horses called Wounded Healer? But if it were there, back it!) then neptune in aquarius. Nep is "not seeing clearly" ie head down, not looking where you're going? Best I can do for you.

I don't have any database details but if you google the name of the horse you'll probably find it.

Basically, don't sweat the small stuff. If you look at the chart and then the names and nothing jumps out.. move on! Goodness knows there are enough races. Look for major testimonies, ie major aspects to real planets. They do come up! I've been at looking at this method for all of 5 days now. The 1st chart I saw was a major aspect to POF in LEO and Prince Fortune came in at 14/1. Wish I'd had the courage to put my life savings on that one! (see 1st post on this thread)

Since then I've glanced at about 50 races, rejected many for no obvious (to me) connection, found about 6 winners, several places and a few red herrings. I have never ever looked at horse racing before. I know nothing about it. The winners and placed horses have come just from the charts and that's how it should be. I really do think this method has some merit and is an art. It's success is in the skill of the artist. The stars are under no obligation to reveal their secrets so I suppose that sometimes we just aren't meant to know. And just because it doesn't seem to work ALL the time, doesn't mean it doesn't work at all!

The main problem, it seems to me, is when several possible names come up. Well, you are under obligation to bet. Wait. Patience is a virtue. Eventually you WILL find a chart with uncompromising testimony and then place a bet, if you are looking for gain.

Let me know when you find one and I'll be happy to help you verify it, if you like.

Best of luck!

Best of luck!
Thx, PallasAthene! I followed your pieces of advice, and examined quite a few charts yesterday. And if the chart was unclear, I moved on. I placed very small bets in a few cases, and at the end of the day I finished with a very small profit. :) My best win was at odds of 1:11. The corresponding planet was Venus in Cancer, so - again! :) - I was looking for "something female", the horse, the jockey, anything.

BTW, I don't have the Frawley book, my source is what you wrote so far and this website: http://www.geocities.com/astrosport88/kelso.html .

Hi PallasAthene,

if you are around, would you check this one? It might be good, if my calculations are correct.

Today (08.21) Salisbury 19:30. 5th cusp is at 16GE45. The relevant significator is the Moon at 17VI32. And there is a horse named "Cry For The Moon"...

Possible problems: I'm using the coordinates of the city itself, not the racing ground; and if there's a delay of at least 4 minutes, the cusp goes over 17GE32...

20
Hope you didn't bet! Acquisition won.
Clear testimony to the moon in virgo in 7th..hmm. Would acquisition usually be a jupiter trait?

21:15 Wolverhampton

5th cusp 0944 Cap applies to antiscia of moon 1124 Aries.
Confide in Me at 10/1was a pundit's tip.

Also running is The Grey One 4/1 and Well of Echoes at 20/1

PallasAthene wrote:Hope you didn't bet! Acquisition won.
My bet was very small, that's not the problem...
PallasAthene wrote:Loosing faith in this method!
... yes, me too, that's the real problem! :( The race where Acquisition won, began in time, I checked - I watched the online coverage. So, Cry For The Moon should have won as the 5th cusp didn't move too far.

Maybe the method itself is good but it's not enough to examine the names, and you have to consider the colors, the jockeys, the trainers, etc. This would be too much for me, e.g. the topic of colors - colors associated with planets and signs - is quite a mess, at least for me.

23
Yes I agree on the astrology of colour, it's a mess. But maybe this type of observation can help to refine it? I think we also need to add accurate co-ordinates of race courses. I wonder if your own transits have an influence too? When I stated looking into this I had jupiter trine jupiter from the 8th being activated by a mars conj to natal jup. Since jupiter is Rx, that aspect will perfect again shortly and I will be looking for another planet to help activate it.

Anyway, all food for thought. We should start a thread for "lucky" transits..if there isn't one already. Then again, if your natal doesn't show money luck there may not be much point!

Sorry to hear you've lost faith with the Addey/Frawley method. Perhaps you might consider trying a different one? Lunar aspects or angular planets can often work quite well.

FYI the best racing site is probably http://www.racingpost.com/ where you can view all the racecards with jockeys' colours and if you click on a horse you will get all the info about it (including its date of birth). Alternatively you can enter the name of any horse in the Search box.

To get exact co-ordinates for racecourses, try http://www.multimap.com/ and just type in 'Salisbury Racecourse' for example.
