Brown's 2010 Solar Return

13
We all have our different systems for forecasting the future for a native. My priority system is with Precessed Solar & Lunar Returns.
??the Solar Return is the basis of the most powerful forecasting system presently known to astrological technology.? James A. Eshelman, ?Interpreting Solar Returns,? Chapter Seven-?Timing?,
pg. 103.
Eshelman teaches that angular planets in Return Charts are the ?theme setters? for the time period designated by the Return Chart. Using the Birth Time (8:40 GMT) or Isaac?s rectified Birth Time (8:32:10 GMT) for Gordon Brown, we see the benefic influence of Jupiter & Venus in the tenth house for Brown?s 2010 Precessed Solar Return. Also Brown?s Sun is in the tenth house. These three planetary placements in the tenth house, un?afflicted from the two malefics of Mars & Saturn, tells us with high probability using Solar Return analysis-- Brown will again be elected/appointed to a position of leadership. The tenth house pertains to goals, objectives, and careers with native?s scopes.

India astrologers teachs the ?raja-yoga,? par excellence of kingship or the like-- are configurations of the Sun and Jupiter pertaining to the angles. Sun & Jupiter are conjunct in Brown?s 2010 Solar Return 10th House, the position of maximum power. Seeing this very potent ?raja-yoga? of Sun-Jupiter dominating Brown?s Solar Return 10th House, it would be very difficult for any astrologer, regardless of their astrological disciplines, to bet against Brown losing his leadership. Do the UK bookies put out betting odds for this Election? If so- I would place a token wager if I had reliable betting connections.

As Issac has pointed out, there is 3 very strong Lunar Return symbolisms with Brown?s angular Jupiter?s, particularly with Brown?s first harmonic Lunar Return on April 22nd 2010 which covers the time period for election day of May 6th. This April 22nd Precessed Lunar Return features angular Jupiter on/in the 7th House. The 7TH House has much to do with ?other people? relating to the native. It is obvious these 7th House ?other people? has very high probability of being the voters and the other people who will again elevate Brown to leadership status.
??Lunar Returns, while more powerful in immediate effect than a Solar Return, are subservient to the preceding Solar Return.? ?Solar and Lunar Returns,? Donald Bradley, pg. 26.
Bradley is telling us that Brown?s April 22nd Lunar Return is ?subservient? to Brown?s preceding 2010 Solar Return with his outstanding Solar Return Sun-Jupiter ?raja-yoga? in the 10th House. In other words, Brown?s April 22nd angular 7th House Jupiter and Isaac?s other two noted Jupiter Lunars are narrowing down the time frame when Brown?s 2010 Solar Return Sun-Jupiter ?raja-yoga? will manifest. This is outstanding and beautiful Lunar Return symbolism with the main ?theme setters? of angular Lunar Jupiter?s. I have seen many times when a particular Lunar Return will TIME the manifestations of important Solar Return symbolism.

Isaac has also pointed out a very important transit effect with Brown?s Natal Chart. Transiting Jupiter is partile (less than one degree) conjunct Brown?s Natal Venus on ELECTION DAY! ?Partile Aspects Reign Supreme? with any chart and are potent astrological indicators, relative to the native?s immediate environment.

There is somewhat a puzzling (from a geo-political standpoint) potent astrological effect with Brown?s 2010 Solar Return. Neptune is the closest angular planet (MC) in Brown?s 2010 Solar Return and will be exerting a potent Neptunian effect. I don?t understand the details of Britain?s political/election processes but do note that Neptune from a geo-political standpoint symbolizes liberal persuasions. It also has to do with ?deceptions?. ?Labor organizations aligned to socialism fall under Neptune?s influence pertaining to geo-political situations. Maybe someone who is much closer than me to Britain?s politics could better understand what this potent Neptune influence is symbolizing with Brown?s 2010 Solar Return?

Remember, with astrological analysis pertaining to an individual, we always have to scrutinize the immediate environment that the native is place in with the native's priorities. I am lacking in certain details with Britain's political processes.

Hello All

I dont want to overwhelm you all with charts but as the Aries Ingress thread has got rather generalised in tone I thought it would be more appropriate to post up the UK Aries Ingress Chart for 2010 here.

I will post up Matt's analysis of this from the previous thread below this.

Hello all,

I will first admit that I am a dabbler when it comes to mundane, and it's isn't something I've much dabbled with! But here is my pathetic stab at it.

Looking at the Aries Ingress, I'd take Labour as Mercury and Jupiter for the Tories.
Mercury is in the 8th sign from the Ascendant, not in any of its chariots and under the beams.
Jupiter is in the 7th sign (Pisces), in his own confines, though under the horizon.
The last planet aspected by the Moon was Jupiter and the Moon will next aspect the Sun when it enters Gemini.

So I'd say that the Tories will win, not by a landslide, but enough to hold the Parliament.

Now I must read Matt's analysis, who I'd imagine gave it a bit more thought then I.

Gabe

Here are Matt's posts and my replies:

Matt wrote:
The London Ingress should cover the General Election in the UK. The incumbent ruler is represented by L10 with 21 Gem on MC. Mercury is in the 7th but in Aries whilst the cusp is Pisces so not really angular. Fast in motion but only in the 7th degree from the Sun.

The opposition therefore is L4. IC is 21st degree of Sag. and Jupiter is closer to DSC than Mercury. The DSC is the Derived MC of the 10th so its place here has an advantage over Mercury and is essentially well dignified. Not quite close enough to guarantee outright victory.

Capricorn occupies much of the 4th house so Saturn is co-ruler. He is in the first, retro and opposing mercury and the Sun, natural significator of rulers.

I interpret this as the Conservatives have most votes but not enough MP's for a majority. The Liberals are conservative Saturn in Libra so they go against ther natural instincts to support Labour. So the next government is a Lib-Con coalition.

Hi Matt,

Yes quite a few political pundits are predicting this. Considering the dire state of the UK economy it does seem appropriate to have more than one party directing public policy. Although its up to the bizarre vagaries of the UK electoral system.

I will not have time to check the chart myself until Friday. Hopefully we can chat further on this.

I had been thinking of looking at the UK election with a variety of charts including the Aries Ingress.

Thanks for your prediction

Hi Mark,

Thank you for reply. At first glance there are only four realistic outcomes of the UK election: Outright Labour win; outright Tory win; Lib Lab coalition or Lib Con coalition but given the vagaries of our system, as you mention there could be subtleties for example it has been suggested that even if Labour lose they stay in power in order to show some stability to the finanacial markets. If we had a position where someone lost or had less votes and still "won" it interesting to interpret it from a chart.

As the rising sign is common we may have to come back in six months time as well. In the terms of my prediction that means Cameron calls an autumn election in the hope of having an overall majority so he no longer has to rely on Liberal votes.

Looking forward to your take on this.

I am curious. Who/What/How determines the Date for UK?s general election?

Thanks Matthew for the info. I assume PM Brown set an early election date. Is there any particular reason the PM has set an early election date?

Hello Steve,

Its not early. If anything its a last gasp election. The last General Election was May 5th 2005. The Labour government had to hold a General Election in May as its maximum 5 year term is up. Generally UK governments tend to call an election much earlier than this. Four years is a common term before elections are called. May or June are historically favoured times to hold UK elections. The weather is better so polling turnout is higher and the UK summer holidays have not begun.

In regards the UK Ingress chart's relevance to the UK election I am finding it difficult to add much of value to what has already been stated by Matt and Gabe in their posts. Interesting they both reach a conclusion that the Conservatives will be the largest pary. Although Matt states specifically a coaltion with the Conservatives is the final outcome. Gabe comes out for the Conservatives narrowly having enough seats to govern on their own. A large reason for their different delineation was the kind of house system used. Jupiter is clearly a lot weaker by sign division (6th) than by whole sign (7th).

While its generally recognised the 4th house ruler represents the opposition how do you reflect individual parties in a multi-party system? Matt found an elegant solution by suggesting the domicile ruler (Jupiter) represents the Conservatives while the intercepted ruiler (Saturn) represents the Liberal Democrats. Alternatively though one could seek to assign these parties by their political hue. For example, it could be argued Saturn better reflects the centre-right stance of the Conservatives while Jupiter more accurately reflects the centre-left position of the Liberal Democrats.

However, what if you want to assign parties based on dignities rather than by intercepted houses? What if one opposition party does extremely well and another poorly? How can we identify that using dignities alone? One solution is to suggest the larger party is represented by the domicile ruler and the smaller opposition party (or parties) by the exaltation ruler. The problem is that the sign on the 4th house cusp here (Sagittarius) has no exaltation ruler! So where do we go from here? Clearly Triplicity rulers are an option. Using the Dorothean or Ptolemaic system of triplicity rulers we have the Sun as the day time ruler and Saturn as the participating ruler of Sagittarius. One could assign the first triplicity ruler to the major opposition party and the participating triplicity ruler to the smaller party. However, I am more inclined to use the domicile ruler (Jupiter) and the main daytime triplicity ruler. So this would mean the conservatives would be represented by Jupiter and the Liberal Democrats by the Sun.

I am quite intrigued by this latter approach. Clearly the Conservatives ( represented by Jupiter) are in a strong position in terms of seats and share of the vote. However, despite its inherent strength by dignity Jupiter does not get the opportunity to act here. By sign division Jupiter is in the cadent 6th house. The Liberal democrats are represented by the Sun in the 7th house conjunct Mercury. The Sun is the the natural significator of the King. In this instance the party is the king maker. Well represented by the Sun's exaltation here. Labour are very weakened as shown by the combust ruler of the 10th. However, this position of being under the beams means that deals can be completed in secret. The essence of coalition politics. Both planets are in the derived 10th house from the MC. The Liberal Democrats 'time in the Sun' may be quite short lived though as demonstrated by the applying opposition to retrograde Saturn. So I predict a Liberal Democrat-Labour coalition government will be formed after the election.

If this prediction is wrong I will need to revisit how I delineate Ingress charts. For example, an outright Conservative majority or a minority government by them would favour the whole sign analysis by Gabe. I have certainly not studied any other ingress charts to see what works so this will be an instructive exercise. I may post up a few results of older elections in various countries. This will assist us see how well Ingress charts actually reflected the outcome.

The Moon (symbolising the public) is the dispositor of the 11th house (representing Parliament). To me this means the Parliament will more accurately reflect the plurality of public opinion in a coalition government. However, The Moon is in the cadent 9th house. Its in a sextile to Uranus and a square to Neptune. Its likely it will take some time for a government coalition to form. There is also likely to be confusion on policy due to the different stances of the parties on some issues. Just across the sign boundary the Moon applies by sextile to the Sun, Mars and then to Saturn by trine. I take the first aspect to the Sun as an indication of both public opinion and later Parliament favouring the Liberal Democrats.

Those of you who have read through the thread will realise I came out for a Con-Lib coalition based on the end of poll chart! However, I dont inherently trust such charts. There has been the suggestion open of poll charts are more relevant so I will take a look at that chart too. Fundamentally, the Aries Ingress chart is the flagship of traditional mundane astrology. So if I am going to get a prediction wrong I would rather go down using a tried and tested method. :D
