Well, I have just joined the forum and this is my first post.

And, I hope, I will be of some value to this forum.

I practice Astrology in pure Indian traditional way and, therefore, some of my points may not appeal to some of you great people. And, I am expecting a little favor in this regard.

I have the following chart for the nice kid.



I observed following reasons behind his suffering from the disease:

Jupiter, the malefic lord of 8th and 11th house, is exalted in third house and having its malefic aspect over the Venus (lord of the Ascendant and sixth house).

Mars is placed in 8th house in Sagittarius and having its malefic aspect over the Moon (lord of the third house)

Note* - I do not find Mars in exaltation and the mutual aspect between Mars and Moon in Taurus Ascendant is not auspicious for growth of the Native. Mars is debilitated in 9th division called Navamsha in traditional Indian Astrology.

Mercury is in combustion and has got debilitated in 9th division called Navamsha in traditional Indian Astrology.

epilepsy is a disorder of the central nervous system characterized by loss of consciousness and convulsions. As per my understanding of the traditional Indian Astrology, the nervous system, as a whole, is ruled by Mercury.

Therefore, the malefic impact of Jupiter over Venus, which is the lord of Ascendant (basic nature and physique) and sixth house (health besides other things) have made the child vulnerable to diseases.

The placement of Mars in 8th house had added to the damage; and

The weakness of Mercury has triggered the condition.

Under such circumstances, strengthening of Mercury can bring profound results. And, the easiest way of doing that is wearing of an Emerald in the form of pendant.

Hello Kent, this is my first post to this forum so I realise I?m a bit late replying to the thread. Firstly, I?m sorry to hear about your concern over your grandson. As an on/off sufferer of seizures myself (about 5 in the last 8 years), reading the description of your grandson really resonates with me. As a child I was a very conscientious, hard-working student, when I wasn?t gazing off into space contemplating life and all its complexities: Sun in Pisces in 8th, Mercury in 9th, Moon opp Nept.

However, I did not experience my first seizure until I was 17 years old. To date, my episodes have been diagnosed as inconclusive, but I now consider this irrelevant. As far as I?m concerned, my seizures were caused by a large build up of mental and emotional stress and tension; i.e. I?m a serial deep-thinker who doesn?t know when to stop: Moon at 29 Gemini; 19 Mercury in Pisces in 9th (the higher mind) ruling 3rd (the lower mind); Mercury sq Uranus; Mercury semisq Jup; Mercury Sesquiquadrate Pluto. Essentially Mercury, Jupiter, Uranus and Pluto are all in exact hard aspect to each other. And for added emphasis, all of these planets tightly aspect my sun/moon midpoint at 5 Taurus.

Waybread noticed that the asteroid Pallas is close to your grandson?s sun and mercury . In my chart, Pallas is located at 2 Aries in the 9th house, exactly squaring my Moon/Neptune opposition. In my experience, some people I?ve known with Pallas aspecting the Sun tend to think in more abstract and unconventional terms. E.g. One woman I know has Pallas conjunct her sun, and despite being dyslexic, she has a Ph.D in computer programming. So, you could say that although Pallas may contribute to learning difficulties/differences, it often comes with a welcomed twist.

As regards transits and progressions occurring at the times of my seizures, many similar patterns reccured. These include conjunctions/oppositions from Mars, Saturn, Uranus and Pluto to my natal Moon and (progressed Moon); and Mercury/Mars conjunctions to my natal Uranus and/or Saturn. Typically, Mars and Saturn tend to make hard aspects with the aforementioned Merc/Jup/Uran/Pluto combo and Gemini moon.

Looking at your grandson?s chart, there certainly appears to be a number of contributors to his condition. First, he has a prominent Uranus in the 10th house also ruling the 10th; it is at a critical 0 degrees, and it is also square his lunar nodes which is suggestive of fateful events concerning this planet.

Second, his Sun in Pisces is at the apex of a t-square involving Saturn and Pluto. This puts his Sun (in the 10th house and therefore prominent) in a more stressful position. However, at risk of sounding too negative, I believe that it is these challenging aspects , when harnessed constructively, which tend to spur individuals on to achieve great things.

Third, his Mercury, although not in sharp aspect to any particular planet, is at the top of his chart in a cluster between his Sun and Uranus.

Fourth, he has a Moon/Mars opposition which is being triggered by a Pluto/node transit. Further to this, there was a lunar eclipse last June at 4 degrees Cap ? this eclipse activates his Mars in 8th (ruling the 12th (unconscious)), and moon in 2nd (general health indicator). About 3 months prior to my very first seizure, there was a solar eclipse exactly conjunct my Moon and therefore opposite my Neptune. This December there will be a lunar eclipse exactly conjunct my Moon again which is quite eerie as I had another seizure last week (the last one was over 2 years ago). Hopefully this latest seizure will be my last for at least another few years !!!

Lastly, current transits and progressions show his progressed Sun/Mercury being transited (intensified) by Jupiter/Uranus; and his progressed MC being transited by Neptune/Chiron (unconscious wounding being activated).

Best of luck to you and your grandson, and try not to worry about it too much. With suitable medication, epilepsy is a very manageable condition to control. Apart from not being allowed to bunjee jump off a bridge in South Africa last summer, it certainly hasn?t hindered my education or quality of life in any way whatsoever .
