I think you are right Andrew. We need to find races where there is a clear match between one of the horses and the astrological indications. Finding an indication of say, H5 cusp (whatever house system) applying to a close trine to Jupiter is all very well, but if there is no horse in the race that has an obvious Jupiter-like name, then we should probably skip that race and look elsewhere.

The result of the King George & Queen Elizabeth (16:35) was very close. Danedream won by a nose from Nathanial in second. Actually, watching it on TV, it was clear that the distance was only a few inches - probably about half or a quarter of a nose!

It was so easy! Using John Addey's method first aspected planet is Ve. Ve rules female gender. Guess what? Only female horse in that race was Danedream!! Colors also fits. Orange/Ge and white cap/Ve.

July 26. 14.30 BST at Sandown.

Bridgehampton won at 5:1 favourite. Using Campanus the cusp of the 5th was 17PI12 and exact on the antiscia of Mars at 12LI48. I just sat and watched this race and the horse I favoured won. Oh well! I think there is a lot to be learnt regarding house systems in this exercize.

Trending won at 9:1 favourite at Bath, 15.50 BST. Capanus has 4AR15 on the 5th trine the Sun in Leo. The 2:1 favourite was West Leake Hare. Reigiomontanus had 12AR41 on the 5th, opposite Mars in Libra. A lot of money was traded on this horse.

July 27. 17,15 BST at Ascot

Best Be Careful won at 10,5:1 favourite. According to Regiomontanus 3TA01 was on the 5th, being the exaltation degree of the Moon. The Moon is in the sign of her fall at 22 Scorpio. Uranus at 8AR27 was on the IC. Jupiter at 9GE31 was on the des. Mars at 13LI27 was culminating.

I'm not sure about the house system thing. Maybe it has to do with locating the system with the greatest and tightest activity.

Looking back over my racing records I find that sometimes the Regiomontanus 5th cusp seems to work, and sometimes it is the Campanus cusp. Often, if one of them is late in a sign and does not make any aspects until it has moved to the next sign (a sort of Void of Course cusp), then the other works well.

Here, the Campanus cusp was at 26AR10, with nothing to aspect until it moved into Taurus. The Regiomontanus cusp on the other hand, as you point out, at 3TA01 applies to square the Sun at 5LE01. Don't know about you, but I would be careful of such as powerful planet as the Sun, in his own sign, and probably being a bit grumpy at being stuck in the 8th

In addition there is a colour indication. Best be Careful carried colours of blue (Jupiter on the desc and being L1) and yellow (the Sun).

I suspect, but need to test some more, that the cusp (Regiomontanus or Campanus) that makes the closest aspect is the one that works.

Thanks, GB! I am back to investigation and gathering material at the moment, having difficulty of copying my initial results that showed 3 of 4 races right. I have even wondered whether some days were more predictable than others, i.e. I started off on a Thursday, ruled by Jupiter. It could be that some days are deeper or more obscure than others. Tracks may also perform differently. I don't want to get it complicated, but there are things we could not as we move forward. Primarily, we are looking for a method of identifiying winning horses, by name, colour, lane or other method.

Saturday July 28.

Ascot, 13.45 BST
Campanus sets the cusp of the 5th at 8PI52. This is square ruler Jupiter at 9GE40, and probably more interestingly Chiron is on the cusp at 9PI36. Richard Hughes is riding Rebel Magic at 4,7:1 favourite. I am wondering whether this could be the winning horse. Regionontanus puts the 5th at 18PI59 and Placidus at 18PI09. I can't see either of these cusps matching up with anything.

Ascot, 14.20 BST
Here Campanus has the 5th at 16PI53. This is on the antiscia of Mars at 13LI58. The question is whether Fiery Lad ridden by James Spencer at 5,2:1 favourite has a chance? The favourite is Scatter Dice at 3:1 favourite. Aries ruler Mars casting antiscia to Pisces could be a scatter head, I suppose?

The 13.45 race was won by Redressthebalance with Rebell Magic coming 2nd. I guess the name of the winning horse picks up on the theme of Chiron, Pisces (inner balance) and Jupiter well enough.

In the 14.30, Scatter Dice came 1st, ahead of Address Unknown (Pisces!) and Warlu Way (Mars!). Well, that's my contribution for today!

Sunday, July 29. at Stratford

The 14:30 BST at Stratford might be an interesting school example. According to the Bookmakers, there are only 3 horses in it: Plenty Pocket, Saute and Forty Thirty ? all priced at about 3,6:1. According to Regiomontanus and Placidus the cusp of the 5th house is 29PI29 and the horse Forty Thirty might have the split sought for with the cusp of Pisces/Aries. However, Campanus claims the 5th cusp to be 19PI32, in which case is the Moon is 19SG14 opposite Venus at 22GE24. In this case, Plenty Pocket should be favoured and maybe the outsider Kissing Clara at 20:1 favourite should be included.

At 15:00 BST Regiomontanus provides the cusp of the 5th at 5AR54, Placidus at 6AR21 trine Mercury at 5AR34 the Sun at 6AR51. The outstanding favourite is Ahyerknowyerself at the price of 2:1. I reckon the favourite will deliver, although Battlecat is 2nd in line.

At 16:00 BST we have the following scenario for the 5th cusp: Regiomonatus 18AR41, Placidus 20AR06, Campanus 10AR35. In this race there are horses like Scales (Mars in Libra?) at 5:1, Sunny Spells at 8:1, Trackmate (trine Moon) at 17:1 and Fairhaven (Moon, Venus?) at 30:1.

Forty Thirty won the 14:30, ahead of Plenty Pocket.

Ahyerknowyerself won the 15:00, ahead of Battlecat.
I have decided to back Ahyerknowyerself and doubled my money on this one. Although this was the first good win for a few runs and the key was dicipline and taking the time to sort out the best case.

Trackmate won the 16:00 at the price of 17:1 !!!

The 16:20 at Pontefract was won by Orbit the Moon at 20:1 favourite ahead of Solar Spirit, also at 20:1!! The 2,7:1 favourtie My Kingdom came 3rd. Is that Moon, Sun and Fortuna?

Majestic Moon, the 2:1 favorurite won the 14:05 at Ayr turns today. The ascendant was 3SC23 (the fall of the Moon) in sextile to the Moon at 3CP21 (in her detriment). The aspect is very accurate but there is the lack of dignity. On the Campanus 5th at 10PI15 is Chiron at 9PI31 (a higher Moon), Regiomontanus 5th 21PI52 and Placidus 5th at 21PI10. It is hard to see anything 'majestic' but is another approach as how to accurate aspects may work.

Excell Yourself 4:1 favourite won at Wolverhamptom 10:00 BST, ahead of Star Up in the Sky 3:1 favourite with exalted Saturn at 23LI47 culminating on the MC at 23LI20. According to Campanus the 5th was 7TA07 square the Sun at 7LE56.
