Vettius Valens seems to speak about some kind of navamshas too, in the Book I, chapter on the Masculine and Feminine Degrees.
"The masculine and feminine degrees are as follows: the first 2 1/2 degrees of the masculine signs are masculine, /28K/ the next 2 1/2 degrees are feminine."

The 2 1/2 degree divisions of zodiac signs are the dwadasamsas (dwads), twelve divisions per signs. The navamsas are the 3 deg 20 min divisions, nine divisions per sign.

Right. Is good to know i was wrong, after all these years when i thought there are navamshas at Valens. I wasn't able to see it myself.
