the Chinese system -- as I understand it -- really doesn't use the planets, the zodiac based on the Jupiter cycle, the calendar basically lunar. There's not too much accessible on real Chinese astrology ... as astronomers, the culture excelled, but the star maps I've seen are polar in orientation, not so much attention to the equatorial and horizon focus of the occidental astrological art. And then there is the primary identity of planet Venus as a male force ... insofar as in the 5 elements (these correspond to planets) planet Venus is identified as Metal ... and by that identity associated w/male energy ...
