Although we got the result wrong, I think a couple of our observations were descriptive of the game. I said it was a "nothingy chart" and (up until the 93rd minute!) it was a nothingy game with a nothingy scoreline. You mentioned an indication of "something exceptional" which certainly describes Fernando Torres' last-minute goal, winning the game for his team and setting a personal record for reaching 50 goals for Liverpool in the fewest appearances. That's definitely "something exceptional"

Perhaps it was Jupiter crossing the Desc that brought good fortune to the two away sides, Liverpool and Hull, although from a timing point of view it was useless since it crossed during the 1st half.

I want to do a belated post-mortem on Monday's 3pm games.

Blackburn/Sunderland 2-2
Stoke/Birmingham 0-1

These two games had the same significators, Jupiter/Mars and Mars/Jupiter respectively. This rather defeats the object of my alternative method which was to avoid having the same sigs in games starting at the same time. So it's perhaps not surprising that the results were different.

With Jupiter above horizon and Mars below, I went for the two Jupiter teams - Blackburn to win since they were home faves and Birmingham to draw since they were away underdogs. I got both wrong! John went for two draws because of the mutual reception so at least he got one right - well done!

Beforehand I suggested that the red teams (Sunderland and Stoke) would score first because Mars crossed an angle before Jupiter. Sunderland, the least likely, did so (just!), but Stoke, the more likely, didn't. They didn't score at all!

Chelsea/Fulham 2-1
Everton/Burnley 2-0

Again, the same significators, Jupiter/Moon but this time the same result. Perhaps easier to understand with the home teams being such strong, odds-on faves, but I still think it might be better to avoid games with the same sigs or at least be extra cautious.

It's interesting that the blue (Jupiter) teams won three out of the four games. Jupiter was above the horizon in 10th. 75% is not bad, especially as one of the teams was an away underdog.

I've been trying to ponder on the Monday games, with out a great deal of success.

I'm quite happy to consider games with the same significators. I would expect different scores, that much seems to be of interest.

What do we have so far.

It was Jupiters day. 4 Jupiter teams and 3 wins and a draw. Why?

All Jupiter goals came from the 50th minute onwards, with a winner in extra time!

Interesting points about colours.

Should white be Moon or Venus. Does this influence the thinking on Fulham and Burnley.

There seems to be an uneven spread of colour symbolism for teams. Is it colour for the game , or season. I'd have thought game, but I just raise it as a thought. There aren't many sun teams-do Blackpool, Hull and Wolves have similar results when they play at home?? ( assuming they all play a team in blue, etc) I'd say no. This is why I'm interested in the games with the same significators having different results, because there are still patterns.

Hopefully all these issues will become clearer with practice. There is another opportunity to test out same significators in tonight's games. Assuming the away teams turn up in their usual colours, we have Mars (red) and Jupiter (blue) again!

Portsmouth (blue)/Arsenal (red) 7.45pm GMT, Asc 20?45' Leo
Man Utd (red)/Wigan (blue) 8pm GMT, Asc 23?49' Leo

Not surprisingly, Arsenal and ManU are odds-on faves. I checked the Portsmouth chart first and thought it looked really interesting. Then I realised that all my observations applied equally to the ManU chart! From experience, it's very unlikely the games will unfold in the same way, even if the final results are the same.

Anyway, for what it's worth, Mars and Jupiter are both above the horizon but Jupiter (in 7th) slips below during the 1st half. Mars might be disadvantaged in 12th but at least it remains above horizon throughout the game. Do the blues begin well (possibly scoring), then the reds dominate and win? Moon trine Jupiter plus Jupiter crossing an angle sounds like a double-whammie for scoring, but is the same scenario likely to play out in both games? I doubt it.

What's also interesting is that the Moon/Jupiter aspect perfects during the games at 8.30, after which the Moon is VOC.

The more I think about it, the more I reckon I should just sit back and observe. Does anybody else have any views, using either this method or any other method?

I haven't looked at tonights games yet. Possibly it may be better to look back in hindsight.

I looked at the Monday games again, particularly around the 50th minute of the games. This was about the time that the sun set and accordingly the triplicities changes.
Mars was in the triplicity of the sun and then into Jupiter.
(Similarly the venus triplicity went to the moon and the saturn triplicity went to mercury.)
About this time the moon applying aspect to jupiter went within 1 degree of orb

From about the 50 minute of the game onwards, the mars team fell under the triplicity of the jupiter team and the jupiter aspect became within one degree of perfection. Possibly a case for favouring the jupiter teams?

I would assign Mercury to Wigan, instead of Jupiter. I understand that dress is mainly blue, but contains a fair amount of white as well. We will see! Mercury is firmly below the line.

But, if Jupiter is the sig, as you said, it slips below the horizon, so again the guess is the fave-win. Should either of the faves fail to win, we're going to have to analyze afterwards.

Seems it was a case of the blue teams just managing to hold out against the reds until Jupiter crossed the Desc, and then the goals came. Arsenal scored exactly as Jupiter crossed, although the ball was deflected off a Portsmouth player! Then ManU scored. Then both Arsenal and ManU scored at the same time just as the Moon trine Jupiter perfected

On the basis that Moon trine Jupiter produces lots of goals, I've done a double on both Arsenal and ManU scoring 3+ goals. One more each, please!

Plenty of goals! I did a scoreline bet on Arsenal to win 3-1. They got one too many but at least Portsmouth did manage to score.

Yes, I agree there is a lot of white so I think your choice of Mercury makes sense here, especially as Wigan didn't manage to score (as I thought they would do if they were Jupiter).

Just a comment on the Portsmouth goal.

I have Jupiter conjunct the Part of Fortune and the planetary hour had just changed from Moon to Saturn.

The only other thing was that the Ascendant and MC signs had changed since kick off time

Not bad at all, Ficina. Terrific odds! This is comparable to my 0-4, 1-4 and 0-5 prediction for Stockport-Leeds. With the game ending 2-4 I still got it wrong.

It doesn't take a lot of imagination to 'think' Portsmouth - Arsenal 1-4, nor ManU beating Wigan 5-0. Nor putting the two in a combination. But you do have to close your eyes and flip a coin before let your imagination flow and take you where it wants. At least from where we are at the moment. There were 5 goals in both matches. There are a lot of goals about a present. In the Scotish Premier' Rangers beat Dundee U with a whopping 7-1. Maybe we can start some new threads in 2010, one that covers 0-0 draws and another that covers extreme numbers of goals.

I am sure I am running a profit this year, but mainly due to my ?1500 scoop on the Eurovision Song contest. With football games I have to think about the rational of it all - particularly when the players are fighting a snow storm, splashing around in half a foot of water - or a game comes to life and is decided in extended time. But there is something with the sporting, gaming and mental exercise that is positive and we should continue to examine the variables from different angles.

The double I mentioned on Arsenal and ManU both to score 3+ goals gave a return of 6.20 which more than covered my other two incorrect bets and produced a small profit, so I'm happy with that This kind of bet is safer than trying to predict the exact scoreline. Total number of goals scored in the game is another option.

As I said, no goals were scored until Jupiter crossed the Desc. A 'time of first goal' bet is generally rather risky but would have worked out correctly in the Portsmouth/Arsenal game.

It has been said to me that if you look hard enough you can make anything fit in astrology.
