Do you mean, Johannes, that the Part of Fortune in the event chart casts its antiscia to 22LE58 and Saturn, L1, in his exaltation is sextile this point, hence the ascendant/favourite is the winner? It is a tight aspect, I didn't see it. :'

Spain defending title: ?150 at 3,9:1
Spain/Germany in final: ?140 at 9:1
Spain/Croatia in final: ?35 at 55:1
9/1 was good odds as a Spain/Germany final was the pundits pick at the start. You may get lucky here.

That would be nice! You don't always have to predict the outsiders as long as there is some consistency. It would be nice to pick both the winner in the Eurovision and Euro 2012 in the one and same year. However, I take some pride in backing the winner in the Eurovision in 3 out of the 4 last years! 8)

However, what was passed on in the previous post has to do with that sometimes it is useful to know something about how to build up a useful betting strategy.

My dad was a bookmaker so he taught me a few things about protection, so to speak.

Looking at this thread, which seems to have been a disaster prediction wise, I do wonder about this end of the match idea. It seems logical to me to look at outcomes when they happen not an hour or two before.

Anyway good luck. The way Italy humiliated England might result in them showing up at the weekend, perhaps you should lay a bet on them to cover your back. ?

The Golden thread is who gets to raise the Trophy on Sunday. Is this shown by the Opening match, or by a chart cast for the Final or by a Horary? These are things that should be discussed. What are all the other games in between about? Is there a Golden path? It would be good if someone contributed with regular Game End charts so that the matter could be studied in a structured manner. Unfortunately, it is rather a lot of work. We have to organise our team better on a future occasion and share the tasks more around.

In the chart for the Final, Jupiter as dispositor of both the Moon and the Moon's North Node, in conjunction with the Moon's South Node, seemed to be a good token for the trophy returning to where it came from. Sagittarius is associated with Spain, and Jupiter is in a masculine sign and can show some preference in the same direction.

If my investment / bet was 10-fold I might have considered some sort of cover at this point. Spain/Germany meeting in the final is ahead of the semi's traded at about 2,1:1, which means that my wager has increased about 4 times in value. Instead of putting more money on the table by betting on Italy it would be more tidy in terms of a prediction to take a profit and sell half. At this time of the game, reduce, do not increase. I put 60% of this years winnings from the Eurovision into the Euro 2012 - so in financial terms there will be a profit either way. :)

Exactly so, Andrew, sorry for having been a little short. Thanks for clarifying!

Johannes, I hadn't noticed the aspect, so now I already owe you a beer! :'

Now I am wondering whether Saturn is aspect to POF is beneficial to the favourite. It is a sextile (is that significant?), and then cast through signs of long ascension that sometimes learn things the hard way. But then Saturn is Lord of the ascendant, so I guess you are right.

Saturn in his exaltation might represent the champion, titleholder or favourite. I had a horary client the other day asking about a relationship. The quesitive was represented by the exalted Saturn and as the consultation progressed it turned out that the person in question was a celebrity - so there is no doubt Saturn can represent someone of esteem and who has risen to considerable heights.

I actually looked at the semi-sextile between POF and dispositor Venus, LHr, and wondered whether this aspect through signs of short ascension could work like a conjunction (?) but that was rather artistic of me and I honestly don't know.

Only a brave, or foolish, soul would seek to discipline a bunch of astrologers.

I see your logic about the South Node/Jupiter. Could we suggest as Germany have won it three times and the Spanish twice it is more at 'home' with them?

The idea of country's being linked to signs comes from where? I am assuming you aren't basing this on the latest national chart for each and it is an earlier system?

Well casting the chart for 11.30pm gives 4 Pisces rising. Neptune and Chiron straddling the ascendent. So some loose symbolism which may hint at the person who switches the TV on in the 80th minute seeing a game whose result is a bit cloudy and painful. Maybe a clear penalty being disallowed, attempts rebounding of the woodwork, or unfair sending off, etc. Or even a game drifting into extra time and penalties, or is it the golden goal solution again.

Spain have the title in their hands at present. Mars has a prominent position in both Opening chart, chart for the Final and in the 'Horary'. This could a representation of the Germans.

OK. If that's the case, then what are the odds and where do you want to place your bet?

It would have to be with the biggesrt tote of all, the Anima Mundi. 145.2593/1 as a guess with the crowd here.

What are the odds that at the Euros in 3012 a bunch of astrologers will be trying to predict the outcome ?

So Mars is good for Germany, well I suppose they do have this recent Gods of War reputation.
