I've been meaning to come around to this and discuss it further with you, James but I haven't had time. One thing I'd point you toward though is the escalating conflicts in the Sahel region of Africa (yes, Africa). There is a long history of France having exploited this region and the past few years have seen the expulsion of French power in the area, and an influx of Russian mercenaries. Point being, this isn't specifically a NATO thing but probably due, at least in part, to direct tensions between France and Russia taking place on African soil. I don't disagree that members of NATO have a united concern about Russia, but there are other proxy wars occurring (besides Ukraine) that make for a bigger picture.

I'll try to say more this weekend if I can find some time. If you're interested though, you can look into the history of French colonial empire in Africa, the unrest in the Sahel region in the 2020s, and Russia's "Africa Corp" (aka: Wagner Group)

yes, absolutely... the geo politics is much more complicated then just the nato-russia conflict... in fact, i have commented on some of the dynamics in africa over the past year, but generally these posts generate no interest at skyscript!!

the reality is, i have an interest in international geopolitics... i want to be able to understand how all the pieces interlock - not that i ever will.. but i feel the level of propaganda in the world today - maybe it has always been this way - is off the charts.. there is no fighting it, but as i see it the truth will eventually come out.. at the same time i think i am a bit of an economic determinist and believe money is very central to the reason for why many events happen - especially wars... we get told it is for ideological reasons, but i think money is very primary to all this... who gets to control and dominate who? money and power go hand in hand.. a big problem is the ownership of the media by corporations... news is no longer just news.. maybe it never was...

when trying to understand astrology, it is helpful to get as many sides or angles to it as possible - even if they don't conform to your own particular approach... when getting information about world events - it is the same thing, but my observation is most people aren't curious and even worse - they have their minds made up about what is or isn't happening.. i wonder what george orwell would say if he were alive today..
