Re: How is this death shown? 25 by AquaStelLea I didn't read all the comments, but in hindsight I might assign the 9th house of in-laws to the brother in law. Then he might be signified by Venus which is under the Sunbeams (in great fear) and going into combustion (worst affliction). Sun in the 9th rules the 12th house, the turned 4th from the 9th. H4 stands for endings and the grave. Sun is also the exaltation ruler of the 8th house. Jupiter rules the chart's 4th house, the turned 8th from the 9th, which is inside the 9th house too. Moon's last aspect will be a square to Jupiter. Jupiter rules both the blood and the disease. Moon is a co-significatior of the quesited and the exaltation ruler of the 9th house. It first applies sextile to Mercury in the 8th of surgeries. Mercury is the general ruler of medical doctors. It then applies square Jupiter. I don't think I could be brave enough to cast such a horary in the first place. Quote Sun May 05, 2024 5:44 pm
Re: How is this death shown? 26 by Georgius AquaStelLea, this looks very accurate! But I would never had the idea to give the 9th to a brother-in-law. AquaStelLea wrote: Sun May 05, 2024 5:44 pmI don't think I could be brave enough to cast such a horary in the first place. I didn’t want to tell my delineation to my sister-in-law or her sick partner. I did it only for myself. But as I thought everything will be alright for now I told my wife about it and she told her sister without asking me. Her sister was given solace and maybe this was the only sense of this horary. Never heard of this! Fits snugly in this case. Do you remember a source for this attribution? By pure luck, I've just found it again in the book "Horary Astrology Plain and Simple, by Anthony Louis. Table 2: Some matters Ruled by the houses. Page 17. "3rd House: ...close kin or relations, cousins (generically)..." "9th House: ...in-laws..." Anyway, this 9th house attribution worked well and gave correct (and straightforward) results in other horaries I've seen in the past, not only for the brother/sister in-law, but also for the mother/father in-law Quote Mon May 06, 2024 11:18 am

I comprehend that the 9th are the partners of the 3th-people, the siblings and relatives of the querent. But in my understanding I would have to turn the chart because it’s not about the partner of my sibling but that of my wife. So we end up with the question: „Turning or not turning?” It looks like half-turning. Last edited by Georgius on Mon May 06, 2024 3:44 pm, edited 1 time in total. Quote Mon May 06, 2024 2:09 pm

I see it more like people who are your relatives through your marriage to your wife (or your sibling's partners and their families?). H9 is also "the law" and "in-laws" are sort of related to you "legally". You could say they are close relatives of your wife (3rd from 7th), bur then, for your wife's "in-laws" you wouldn't have to turn the chart again to come into the 3rd, 9th from the 7th, because they are already your in-laws, as well. In your question you referred to the quesited as "my brother-in-law", not as "my wife's brother in law", so why over-complicate things when you already have "one ring to rule them all"...oops ..."one house to signify them all" ? The probem is that I didn’t not know the correct terms in English. From my postings you might have noticed that the dead person was not the brother of my wife (3rd house from the 7th, thus the 9th) but the partner of the sister of my wife, that is the partner of my sister-in-law. In German we have two different terms for this kind of family relationship (”Schwager“ and ”Schwippschwager“). So I took the 7th – partner – of the 3rd – sister – of the 7th – wife –, thus the ruler of the 3rd house. That was totally logic for me. I did not hesitate a single second. And now I see that your 9th works and my 3rd doesn’t. It seems in astrology sometimes one has to be very precise and sometimes sketchy, almost sloopy. To decide how to act when sometimes I find complicated. Maybe I am too much of a Virgo. But I will remember this classification (in-laws is 9th) because this time it worked fairly well and maybe the next time too. Again thank you for this interesting perspective! Re: How is this death shown? 36 by Jason No worries, Georgius! While I have always really liked the song I linked to there, I think my point was more about doing something that helps to take you out of the anxiety of a confused state - not necessarily needing to feel like you have to have all of the answers to everything all of the time. Like I stated earlier: just go easy on yourself! :) thoughts are just thoughts Quote Wed May 08, 2024 9:24 am
