In my opinion there is no question that is too inferior to be asked. If I’m not mistaken William Lilly himself reports that he used horary for fun to find things his servent had to hide first. And also I agree that there should be some respect for astrology! Long range weather forecasting gives me more empathy to understand astrology, to become familiar with the traditional world outlook before the so called Enlightenment and to get to know the ways of the heavens in another way. One more testimony to realize that everything including me is connected with each other. And that is a good reason to study astrology. Quote Wed Dec 04, 2024 12:57 pm
Why Does Overindulging in Astrology Lead to Mental Fatigue and Inaccurate Predictions? 26 by Wei Why Does Overindulging in Astrology Lead to Mental Fatigue and Inaccurate Predictions? Becoming overly immersed in astrology can sometimes lead to mental fatigue and impact the accuracy of your predictions. Here are some possible reasons: 1. Excessive Psychological Pressure When you focus too much on achieving accurate results, you may inadvertently put a lot of pressure on yourself. This pressure can interfere with your intuition and judgment, making it harder to interpret charts clearly. 2. Loss of Objectivity Being overly absorbed in astrology can lead to projecting your emotions or personal expectations onto the chart, which can result in biased or one-sided interpretations. 3. Information Overload Astrology involves analyzing a wealth of information, such as planets, houses, and aspects. Overindulging may overwhelm your mental capacity, making it challenging to focus on the most relevant details, leading to confusion and less accurate readings. 4. Energy Depletion Interpreting astrological charts requires significant mental energy, including focus, analytical skills, and intuition. Without adequate rest, you may experience mental exhaustion, reducing your ability to think intuitively and clearly. 5. Detachment from Reality Relying too heavily on astrology without grounding yourself in real-life experiences can lead to a disconnect between theory and practice. This disconnect may result in predictions that lack relevance or accuracy in real-world contexts. Tips for Improvement 1. Take Regular Breaks Step away from astrology periodically to rest and recharge your mental energy. 2. Maintain Neutrality When interpreting charts, strive to stay neutral and avoid rushing to conclusions. This helps minimize emotional interference. 3. Combine Astrology with Real-Life Observations Balance your interpretations by integrating them with real-world observations and experiences. 4. Set Clear Boundaries Limit the time you spend on astrology to maintain a healthy balance between study and other aspects of life. 5. Reflect and Learn If a prediction feels off, take time to analyze potential reasons, such as overanalyzing or overlooking key details. This process can help refine your skills. Astrology is both an art and a practice that thrives on balance between logic and intuition. By giving yourself the space to recharge and step back when needed, you can restore your clarity and improve the precision of your predictions. The above is ChatGPT’s response, which I found quite interesting, so I thought I’d share it with you. I’m increasingly feeling that, apart from seriously studying the techniques and accumulating experience, paying attention to one’s mental state and maintaining balance and positive thinking also seem to be key factors for making accurate predictions. Sometimes, when I’m deeply focused and in a relaxed state of mind, I can truly perceive how things will unfold. Back when I was a student, I often had a sense of what my teacher was going to say next. I believe many people in this forum have had similar experiences and feelings. Quote Mon Dec 16, 2024 4:52 pm
Re: What is the true purpose of studying astrology? 27 by Ouranos Thanks for sharing Wei, ChatGPT is becoming wiser quickly. I have recently seen some of his answers as good if not better than real astrologers. It will my turn soon to take a break. Regarding predictions, I can share with you something that happened to me a long time ago. I was a participant at an Occult Science Fair and with a group of astrologers, we were taking 1 hour turns doing quick readings (15 minutes each) for clients. I used the chart of the moment (Horary) and after a while I realized that the people sitting down with me had the same recurring problems. I was almost doing a cut and paste. That's when I thought that it was not so much people coming to me but me attracting a specific type of persons. Depending on your chart, you can be wired at a moment in time to solve a specific problem and sometimes no matter what, you are not geared to provide a solution. Call it that the intuition is not to the rendez-vous. And for some astrologers, with too much intuition, it can also be a disaster because they are living what they see and it can be too much of a load, like get me out of here. That's when it's time to take a break. Ouranos Blessings! Quote Mon Dec 16, 2024 6:00 pm
Re: What is the true purpose of studying astrology? 28 by Yfke Hi Wei, I agree with james_m. It's natural to feel wary and question something's purpose. Not to mention, it is healthy. I waver too—especially when spending a lot of time looking at the planets. To answer your question (from my perspective), if one has the aptitude, I think it is a useful compass to help one navigate life, and it is an interesting and stimulating subject to study. What matters most is whether you enjoy studying and practicing astrology. If it brings you joy, then that's a good enough purpose, in my opinion. Sidenote: Pop astrology makes me want to give it all up. Take care, Yfke Quote Sun Dec 22, 2024 6:10 pm

Not always... but it's also because some "astrologers" seem to be in need of serious treatment themselves. Just kidding. I guess this "lofty esotericness" is because us modern-day astrologers tend to look at planets & stars only as abstract symbols on paper/screen. We rarely go outside stargazing at night and thus lost touch with the real stars. Many of us can't even distinguish between a planet or fixed star when they look up at the sky without a guide. Re: What is the true purpose of studying astrology? 33 by Fidibus Today I asked my 36 year old daughter: Why do you believe that the things can be explained with a Why? She said: Because there is a reason for everything. She had asked me before why I love Eminem. And I had a problem to ask. Last edited by Fidibus on Thu Jan 30, 2025 7:57 pm, edited 1 time in total.
