And that highlights one of the major difficulties with astrology in general (as far as I understand it), namely the question of manifestation. In this match, Portugal (the underdog) was indicated as having better chances overall. But while many things could be indicated at any one moment in time, only certain things will materialize. Perhaps that's where intuition comes in, but I'm not an astrologer so I wouldn't know from experience.

The third-place playoff sees the hosts (favourite) playing against Portugal (underdog) in Stuttgart, Germany, at 9:00 pm CEDT (Asc is 10Cap52).

The first part of the first half are variably favourable to both sides, but from that point on the square between Uranus and the Part of Fortune is decreasing in strength while Fortuna's conjunction to Venus and trine to Neptune are increasing, giving a formidable advantage to Germany for the rest of the first period. At the start of the second half, placement and aspects of the Moon (ruler for underdog) are hindering Portugal, and this state of affairs is continuing even when the horizon changes signs. The last fifteen minutes should be more balanced due to placement of Fortuna's antiscion and ruler of the 2nd house, but Germany will still hold a slight advantage.

Overall, Germany should fairly easily overcome Portugal, perhaps even by two goals.

P.S. I should also note that the kick-off chart favours Germany to a small extent, which is more or less in agreement with the above.

Although it's difficult to envisage Portugal beating Germany, the chart seems to show that they will. Saturn, Mars and antiscion Venus are all in 7th (Portugal). Saturn has previously only won one out of three games and that was by a penalty goal and the Moon was in Scorpio.

Antiscion Moon is just inside 1st which is the only factor I can see in Germany's favour. That could swing it but nevertheless I'm going for Portugal to win 2-1.

For the record, Germany won 3-1 in regulation time. I would like to think that looking at the event in more detail (i.e. for the entire duration and not just at kick-off) makes a big difference. There is nothing physical being born at kick-off (unlike with a human being), so the "birth chart" analogy may not be as strong as we wish it to be.

Onwards and upwards, I am having trouble calling the final. My vote was for Italy previously, but looking at the match in more detail doesn't support this strongly. Astrological factors are very balanced through-out the game, and neither side receives significant support. Towards the very end (i.e. second half of extra time and penalties) Italy is favoured marginally, so they may succeed in the end unless France manages to tilt the balance prior to that (the start of the second half and extra time would be opportunities for them).

By the looks of it, the final may be decided on penalties.

In which case I'll go for Italy; Buffon is a brilliant keeper. (Then again, his Venus sits on my Ascendant, so I -would- think so... )

benefic represent you. You can't help but notice my elevated

in the house of my prize. What's more the Moon in Sag loves me and

sitting right there on the Asc. We both cross the angles in real
time
during the course of the match so there's a couple of goals for me.

may be moving a tad slowly having recently stationed but hey! at

I'm moving in the right direction, unlike someone else I could

Yeah, yeah, OK I'm retro but I'm in my own house and although I'm not
up to full speed yet, I'm moving faster than you. The Moon may love
you to start off with but you failed to mention she goes into Cap
midway through the first half of the game. And as we all know, when
the Moon is in detriment in Cap, the favourite very rarely wins.
Before she leaves Sag my antiscion receive a quirky little quincunx from her and
then I get the same once she arrives in Capricorn. Two
goals for me.

Fairly evenly balanced testimonies here so.....I've decided to ignore
the real time stuff and go for the fundamental premise that unless
the
favourite is in a really bad state (it isn't) or the underdog is in
an
amazingly good state (it isn't) then the favourite prevails.

Normal time, extra time or penalties?
When the Moon is VOC the result is usually a draw. Things don't move
handsomely forward, i.e. we don't get a result. So extra time or
penalties? The chart indicates lateness and slowness. The Moon in a
very late degree, Jupiter and Mercury both in fixed signs and moving
very sluggishly. We will have to wait for penalties to decide this.

Final score before penalties?
Void Moon doesn't necessarily mean no goals, just no goal
difference.
Are the teams capable of scoring or not? They are not in such a bad
state that they can't score even though it might be a struggle so I
reckon they'll manage one each.

Well since Italy hasn't seemed to win much of anything since Rome fell, I dont think I'll begrudge them a win in football.

Not if I can help it. One of my colleagues came in yesterday moring and the first thing he said (even before 'hello' ) was 'only four years to go.' This has been the main topic of conversation for weeks (well, that and the excitment of two contestants being thrown out of the Big Brother house for sexual assault). Problem is, in four years time my goal is to be living in England where soccer (football) is far more prominent than in Australia. I was there during the 2002 World Cup. At least I could get a seat on the tube during the times when England was playing.
