Lazio(U) is a nominal home team, but I assume ASC is Fav, that is ROMA (F).
Chart isn't radical. (-F)
AntisPOF square ASC (-F)
Sun L10 in strong critical degree - last degree of astrological year. (-F)

MARS L1 accidentally +3
Venus L7 accidentally +13

I may change my mind later but here's some of my current thoughts on the weekend games(yes already :P )

22/3,1245, Tottenham/Portsmouth
Moon trine POF. Spurs' win, probably.

17:15 Everton/Wigan
Moon conjunct anti-Mercury, but there're more than 5 degs between them. The Moon's next aspect is to Jupiter, again, there're more than 5 degs. Draw or Everton'win.

23/3, 13:30 Man U/Liverpool
There're a few testimonies for Man U. The strongest ones are: Liverpool's sig Saturn is just inside MC and Saturn is opposed by POF. I don't like, however, the Moon being right on IC. I'd advise Sir Alex to delay the kick-off time. In fact any footbball team who wants to be successful should employ competent astrologers like us :P Nevertherless I'd go for Man U's win(hopefully).

16:00 Chelsea/Arsenal
Mercury(Chelsea)is inside DC(about 3 degs) and anti-Jupiter(Arsenal) is near IC(7 degs). Are these too far away from the cusps to be meaningful? If they're effective at all, then Arsenal'll win but seeing that the Moon isn't making any aspects within the current sign, draw is also a strong possibility.

Mercury in Pisces in water triplicity... it is a novelty for me

Valencia vs Barsa

A Hour of Saturn.
Andrew, Is chart a radical?

Barsa=ASC Venus +12 Exalt
Valencia=DSC Mars +3 Fall

B.Brady write that benefic in good conditions and malefic in poor conditions have almost same good effect.

AntVenus conj ASC (+Barsa)
Last aspect of Moon is trine with angular Ju (+Barsa). IMHO, This aspect is hindered by mutual reception of detriment. (-/2 Barsa)
Next aspect - nothing. That is home team don't receive any help. (-Valence)
Mars aspect retrograde Saturn but, I think, it don't give points.
Saturn trine POF (0 Taurus) (-Barsa)

Very close to DRAW.

PS. Exalted Sun in first degree of Aries may give some unexpected things.

This evenings lower league matches at 19.45 GMT
Tranmere Rovers - Port Vale Odds: 1,60 3,50 5,65
Grays Athletic - Droylsden Odds: 1,45 3,60 7,00

...are both being played with the Moon, L10, being VOC.
Hands off from my part, but shall we monitor the matches for the unexpected?

The Moon is said to still function when VOC in signs of her dignity. Does her position in her own triplicity in any way improve her performance from a VOC perspective?
-----------------------------

UBER - hour of Saturn with Libra ascending is radical. Saturn rules the asc by exaltation and probably the most potent combination when considering competitions. That is my view.

Gem, I've also looked at the weekend games. Couldn't resist Grand Slam Sunday :) I'll just add some testimonies to the ones you've already mentioned.

Spurs/Portsmouth
Moon conj IC but over 1 deg away in 3rd so probably not effective. Agree Spurs win or possibly draw.

Everton/West Ham
Moon conj ant Mercury (L1) is only just over 5 degs, but POF combust is not good for faves, Everton, so I'm not sure on this one.

Sunday Grand Slam, Moon is VOC, so possibility of draws in both but I'm tempted to go for the underdogs.

ManU/Liverpool - loads of testimonies!

For ManU (faves)
Moon conj antiscion POF
Antiscion Saturn in 10th just over 3 degs so a bit wide.

For Liverpool
Moon conj IC
Anti POF conj IC (3 degs)
Moon opp antiscion Saturn (L7)

All this antiscial stuff is rather confusing. I fancy Liverpool but it could be a draw.

Chelsea/Arsenal
Mercury(Chelsea)is inside DC(about 3 degs) and anti-Jupiter(Arsenal) is near IC(7 degs). Are these too far away from the cusps to be meaningful?
I think ant Jupiter is too far but Mercury is fine - Arsenal in control. Again, we have POF combust which is bad for the faves, Chelsea. I'm going for Arsenal to win (fingers crossed).

Valencia/Barca. UBER, I agree this will probably be a draw - Moon VOC. Also there are two additional testimonies which I'm guessing will cancel each other out. Moon conj antiscion POF (faves) and POF square its dispositor Mars (underdogs).

If it's a 1-1 draw then it will have to go to extra time/penalties. I'm inclined to give Valencia the Asc on colours, so they would have the benefit of the antiscion Venus that you mentioned.

It will be very interesting to see how it turns out :)

Enjyoed reading your observations. I've never paid attention to combust POF before... You've seen it working against faves in the past? Can it be affected for being 'invisible' as it's a non-physical point, or I wonder it can be a case of being overwhelmed by the Sun(faves or teams signified by the Sun)??

33
Seeing that the weekend's matches are getting attention already, I'll join in now.

ASTROLOGICAL WEALTH WARNING -

Do not bet your shirt (whatever colour it may be) on the following predictions:

Tottenham/Portsmouth. Draw. Moon's next aspect greater than 6 degrees

Everton/WHU. Draw. Moons next aspect greater than 5 degrees.

Man U/Liverpool. Liverpool. POS square Moon on IC

Chelsea v Arsenal. Chelsea. Mercury on desc (less than 3 degrees) and also MC ruler

A slip of pen from my part, UBER. Sorry I didn't spot it before.

That should read Mars. Mercury and Mars are in the same triplicity. Mercury is in Pisces, Mars is in Cancer. Thus, they are in the same triplicity.

No, but JF mentions it in his book. So far I haven't had any charts to test it out on so it will be interesting to see how/if it works.
Can it be affected for being 'invisible' as it's a non-physical point
I wondered that too but
a case of being overwhelmed by the Sun(faves or teams signified by the Sun)??
Yes, overwhelmed or destroyed by the Sun per se I would think is the reasoning behind it.

Uber,
If Valencia were faves, then "benefit of the antiscion Venus on ASC"
Barca were the faves. When the away team are faves I look at colours to decide who gets the Asc. I didn't think ant Venus on Asc was sufficient for Valencia to win in normal time but looking at the chart again, there was no fixity or late degrees to suggest that the game would go to extra time/penalties. Hindsight is a wonderful thing :P
