Switzerland - Czech Republic, 0-1
Switzerland played a good game, were probably the better team, but it is the goals that count. :? Switzerland were the home team AND played in red, but it would not have been possible to have given them any mark or favouritism. For that the odds were too close.

Things that may have tipped the balance in Czech's direction could be the South node conjunct the MC (putting the North Node on the 4th), then Saturn, who disposed and trined Fortuna, was Lord of the 4th.

Astrologically, this was rather a difficult first game.

I don't know but to my mind CZE-SUI was pretty simple. Taurus is for Switzerland. Scorpio is for Poland, maybe it's also for their neighbors CZE. (it's a wild guess, of course). CZE started off as the faves (acc to my bookmaker), then the odds slowly cruised towards the SUI. Apparently, there was some big money coming in on CZE so the bookies had to do something to even the load. The bookies could not care less about the result of any game, their business is to get equal amount of money on both teams and take their juice (usually 10%).

OK SUI was wearing red kits, yet CZE 'natural' color is red, too.
Maybe it's the combination of things not unusual in the astrology. Mars (L1) is in the face of Jupiter (purple, mixture of red) and in the degree of Venus (white), while L7 is in the face of Mars (red) and in the degree of Jupiter (mixture of red). Or L7 in conjuction with the Sun (orange) while L1 close to the Moon (white) etc etc.

The color method to my mind is not so straightforward. If the The Red Devils wore white kits, would we consider them as red or white? Or what if the teams switched the kits just before the game? I was puzzled by this color question many times. Two teams playing both of them wearing red kits and one of them is Mars in Aries while other is Venus in Cancer. Both are red. Oops.

Thankfully, in the sports horary, the color method is irrelevant at all.

The match between POR and TUR did not go as planned (Draw or Turkey), yet as I said I wasn't expecting much. Moon's aspects to planets are unreliable by themselves. The Moon's placement or her aspects to PF or its antiscion is more of a testimony.

As JF puts it, if there isn't a strong testimony to favor the underdog, the faves will do their job and (usually) win.

PS It turns out according to JF, in the event chart the placement of the Nodes on the MC and even on the ASC/DSC is not important. I'm not saying he's right.

It didnt work out for the Portugal game... :-? what really went wrong? I'd just put it down that the players/officials didnt follow the script, match is fixed.. move on.

Austria vs Croatia
Asc 16 Scorpio 33
Saturn malefic close to MC (adv Dsc)
L1 Anticion sitting on L7 (adv Asc)
Croats are the favorites, possibly 1-0.

Germany vs Poland
Asc 17 Sag 37
Nothing much again, NN applying conjuct Fortuna, L7 Antiscion on Dsc cusp. Neptune separating conj with Fortuna. another 1-0 win for the favorties?

My software is saying the ASC is 16SCO29'53'' and the antiscion of L1 is at 13TAU27' while the cusp of DSC is at 16TAU29'. So it's not sitting on the cusp of DSC.

L10 is combust which is not a big deal by itself, malefic Saturn just inside the 10th house close to the MC. Well, it won't be easy for Croatia to win. At first I thought it was going to be a draw but I guess it will be a tough win for Croatia.

Firstly, congratulations to Gem for predicting Portugal.

Just to confirm that I have the Austria game as 16 Scorpio rising.

I thought I'd do an antision watch for these games, as they kick off at the same time each evening. I'm commenting on the antision positions beneath.

Austria/Croatia, comparing it to the Sw/Cz game. L1 moves from the 7th into the 6th, about 3 degrees away from the cusp-- Favours L1 . L4 is in the 1st, moving from the 6th, favouring L1.

Croatia win.

Germany/Poland. L1 moves from the 12th conjucnt the ascendant into the 12th. Favours L7. L10 moves from 7th, conjucnt 8th cusp into the 7th, favours L7. L7 moves from being in 7th, conjunct 8th cusp into 7th, favours L7.

Moves victory away from favourites-Draw.

Had a look at the Euro 2008 site. They are doing the usual fantasy football team game but they are also doing a fantasy prediction league, where you have to state the result, number of goals and first scorer. How about that for testing an astrologers predictions!!

Thank you John. Well done on Czech and Croatia :' Far from heading towards the relegation zone, you're making a flying start :) Likewise to everyone.
Interesting idea to look at the antiscia of sigs... I would have thought bodily emplacement might be more significant but if you predicted Croatia based on them, that's quite impressive.

I've reached a different conclusion reg Germany/Poland though(Germany win). If the odds are closer, a draw is more likely with no Moon aspects within the sign and the type-2 radical chart, but here again, Germany are odds on faves.

That's an interesting observation, although two teams never play wearing the same colours. And also what you said about bookies having to even the load on the Swiss-Czech match. I was wondering why Czeh weren't getting shorter odds.

It's not the case in the basement leagues. Well, maybe the kits aren't exactly of the same color but they are for example shades of red. It's crazy but trust me I've been there. Or better yet the local amateur tournaments.

I'm not saying I'm always right 'cause otherwise I probably would've changed my name to Nostradamus but for example in the sports horaries the color method doesn't work at all. It is whether "my team" (ASC) or "any old team" (DSC) the way JF wrote in his book.
And also what you said about bookies having to even the load on the Swiss-Czech match. I was wondering why Czeh weren't getting shorter odds.
In this case it is irrelevant but, yes, probably more bets (or just more money) were probably made on the Swiss team, not Czechs as I said. That's why the odds went up a bit so more people would bet on CZE or the draw. So the bookies could get an equal action (or close to that). That's about the only reason, because other than that there were no injuries, no new players etc. But anyway it's the bookie thing and unfortunately it does not help us in any way to determine the faves.

France - Romania
2008-06-09, 18:00
Zurich, SUI
ASC: 11SCO55

FRA are the faves here. L1 Mars is close to the South Node (3?27') but better still the antiscion of L1 is just inside (< 1 deg) the cusp of the 7th house. Romania wins? Any thoughts?
