by Andrew Bevan I sat watching the final minutes of the game between Brazil and Egypt on Norwegian television. It made me realize what a gamble and close shave any game of football is. The result was 3-3 when the Egyptian defender fouled on the goal-line by using his shoulder and upper arm to leaver the ball off the line. The referee sent him of for hands and judged a penalty. Kaka scored off the spot for Brazil. 4-3 on overtime, but the goal keeper went the right way. I was not impressed with Kaka's shot and the keeper was probably no further than a few inches away from the ball. Brazil were favourites 1,25:1. It makes me think how everything would have been turned upside down with odds, combinations and all if the game had ended 3-3 !! http://www.astronor.com Quote Mon Jun 15, 2009 4:48 pm
by Ficina I see from Oddschecker that Breidablik's odds are shortening and some of the bookies have made them favourites The best price for Valur is now 2.88. It does seem to make more sense, given that only 2 points separate the two teams in their league table. Hopefully Valur can still prevail.... Quote Mon Jun 15, 2009 6:00 pm
by Andrew Bevan Hopefully Valur can still prevail.... Thank you, Ficina! My pennies are on Valur (Value=Venus/Taurus) There is the question of the lack of radicality, ie the Lord of the Hour, Jupiter, does neither agree with Scorpio or it's rule, Mars. However, Jupiter is more amicable with Venus, L7, upon sharing the same powers. I think that in the hierachy of testimonies I would like to put any exact aspect between L10, or a planet within the 10th, and its aspect with the cusp of the 1st or 7th, their rulers, or planets within those houses, as a first consideration. Together with exact configurations involving POF as of equal importance. Then if there are no particular significations, or there is doubt, then the question of radicality may indicate the sway. However, I think there may be variations within the question of radicality that lead either preference to the team ruled by the 1st or 7th house, or the favourite or the underdog. An interesting draw in the Norwegian tippeliga this evening: Start - Molde 2-2 The draw was exactly what I felt, but didn't feel like betting on. Asc 9SC22 MC 29VI58 Moon 21PI40 POF 6LE31 Day Moon Hour Saturn - not radical Venus, L7, opposes the ascendant. The MC is void. Jupiter takes over the rulership of the 4th and is st. conj Neptune. POF is unaspected. http://www.astronor.com Quote Mon Jun 15, 2009 7:36 pm
by taurean Valur has won, congrats! Spain has won 5:0 against New Zealand. Of course the Spanish team were strong favorites. But I was wondering, does the chart indicate this somehow? Data is 2009.06.14. 20:30 Rustenburg, South Africa. And a few hours ago Italy-USA, has a very similar chart as well - 2009.06.15. 20:30 Pretoria, South Africa. (I even dared to put money on the Italians, being favourites, wearing darker colors under the similar chart, just like the Spanish a day ago. USA scored first, but eventually Italy won 3:1.) So what's on the charts. North node close to the ascendant; Jupiter, Neptune and Chiron roaming in the 1st house, 7th house empty. Maybe aspects of L1 (Saturn) were the main testimony: Italian match, trine L10 (Mars), not partile, around 4 and a half degrees / Spain match, trine POF around 2 and a half degrees. L7 - the Sun - wasn't aspected by these. Quote Mon Jun 15, 2009 10:27 pm
by Andrew Bevan Brei?ablik - Valur 0-1 ! Thank you, Taurean! How I may grow to love Icelandic football. The goal was scored by Baldur Bett. In Norse mythology Baldur was the son of Odin (Mercury) and Frigg (Venus). How delightful! The best matches for using astrology, at least in my opinion, most often collect an odds of about 2,00-2,80. This price reflects a rather open game. It is not like betting on a crazy underdog, nor like putting money on a default favourite. How many times haven't I included a favourite in a combination without refering to astrology just to see THAT game did not work out! I am ashamed to say I included Brazil's victory over Egypt yesterday as a default in a multiple bet. Wow - was that close! Taurean, I am so glad that you are involving yourself - and particularly for drawing our attention to the astrology of the Confederations Cup. too. I look forward to joining you on these details as the tournement develops. http://www.astronor.com Quote Tue Jun 16, 2009 5:52 am
by Ficina Excellent result One other thing we didn't mention was Venus being L7 and L10. In previous games where Mercury has been L7 and L10, the away teams have won. 'Down south' we will never see Venus ruling both angles but in more nothern latitudes I guess it is quite common. Do you think it might be less significant for this reason, Andrew, or would you still consider it as an important testimony? Quote Tue Jun 16, 2009 8:57 am

Do you think it might be less significant for this reason, Andrew, or would you still consider it as an important testimony? I did notice Taurus on the Des and Libra on the MC and remember that you had mentioned this a possible testimony for the away team previously, Ficina. However, it is as you say, the more commonplace any astrological condition is, the less useful it may be in sorting out the particulars. In comparison we do seem to be monitoring Mercury ruling both MC and Des for the same effect. It might be a minor testinomy used to balance out and understand what is going on. Is the away team the favourite? Are there other testimonies point towards the Descendant? Does the Descendant represent the guests, the challenger or is the match being played on a neutral ground? The contests vary and we have to be able to understand the nature the contest to be able to determine the outfall. The Norwegain Cup is underway and in the initial rounds the elite teams come up against the amateur teams of lower leagues. You know how it is. But the problem is, even if you back 5 obvious favourites as a default - then the collected odds are noe more than 1,8:1 - so what is the point? It only distorts prediction and if just one elite team has a hiccup, then it spoils everything else. So I am weary towards including obvious favourites as default at a poor price in multiple combinations. So for these reasons I find myself more comfortable using astrology for predicting the outcome of open games at a decent price. Two or three of these games put in combination is really quite respectable. That is my thoughts at the moment. http://www.astronor.com Quote Tue Jun 16, 2009 9:13 am
by taurean Sorry for the amateur questions, I have two... What does the 10th house and its ruler shows us? (In a meaning, that 1st and 7th house (thus L1 and L7) show the opponents, e.g. the two teams.) I?ve read somewhere that the 4th and the 10th house represent how the corresponding teams are playing, the way they are playing (aggressive like Mars, etc.). But, this definition hasn?t helped me too much... About planetary days and hours... What?s your experience with these data, did they help you somehow? For the record, in case of the two Confederations cup matches we talked about yesterday, days and hours were the same, respectively. I know it?s confusing, so let?s be clearer: Spain-NZ, day Sun, hour Sun / Italy-USA, day Moon, hour Moon. It might be irrelevant, but I wanted to mention, hoping that my memory is not failing me, as I don?t have the charts here in the workplace. And now I see, in the CC topic, that tomorrow night's game has day Mars hour Mars. Quote Tue Jun 16, 2009 1:46 pm
by Andrew Bevan I think you spotted one of my mistakes, Taurian. Tomorrow is Wednesday ruled by Mercury, not Mars. I got muddled up on a few clip and paste details. I think it is important to quote the match details so everyone can view the details, but it is quite a bit of work. I'm still trying to figure out how the Lord of the Day is significant. The Lord of the Day is a bit like the Sun, I believe - holds things in place and describes the big picture in the background. We just have to keep collecting observations. http://www.astronor.com Quote Tue Jun 16, 2009 2:01 pm
by Andrew Bevan I want to enter this one for the record: Molde 2 - Steinkjer, 17.30 CST 62N44 7E11 Odds: 1,50 5,00 4,40 Asc 2SC05 MC 22LE21 Moon 4AR04 POF 10LE33 Day Mars, Hour Sun - shares powers with Lord of Asc. Radical This is a hard one to judge. Venus, L7, appears to be closest to asepct of POF by square, but then I noticed that the Sun, L10 & Lhr, was in an exact semi-square with POF. The Sun is already relating to Mars, L1, by powers and the Sun is L10. Mars is also Lord of the Day. It looked like a possible underdog, but I jugde that from the question of radicality being settled and the Sun's relation and role to POF - the favourite gets it. http://www.astronor.com Quote Tue Jun 16, 2009 3:24 pm

I understand that it's a lot of work, but your giving the match details is a big help for me (maybe to others as well): I'm inexperienced and tend to mess the time zones, thus the whole chart. With your data, I can verify my chart. Quote Tue Jun 16, 2009 9:15 pm
