I think that we will have some surprises on early games and some big names will lose important games. Yes, I think so too and will be looking out for games where the Moon picks up Jupiter/Uranus. Some further thoughts on Moon/Sun conjunction in Cancer: the finalists might be from the same 'family' or 'clan'. This could translate to countries from the same continent (hopefully not) or who share a common language, e.g. Brazil/Portugal, Spain/Argentina or even France/Ivory Coast. It would be good to have an African team in the final. Yes, I agree this is important although it's very complicated trying to work through all the permutations. I mentioned Chile earlier but it looks likely that they will meet Brazil in the knock-out stage - a tough prospect!

28 by Andrew Bevan My careful suggestion for the first and second place: 1) Brazil 2) Portugal - Odds 100:1 On paper Brazil seems to have an easier route to the final, but may have to battle with either England or France. Nothing will be for free. Portugal, Spain and Argentina seem candidates for the other final place. But, of course, as the contest develops the course of events could be entirely different. http://www.astronor.com
29 by amandaW OK. I don't usually do football, but this year I am curiously interested. And as I had almost all the countries' charts up on my screen for other reasons, I thought I might as well....But my submission should be considered strictly amateur and experimental (both football and astro-wise) btw: So you know my bias -I'm Welsh not English and usually support NL in these competitions I did my own non astro analysis first as a control and based on that final 16 - easily : France, Argentina, NL, USA, Eng, Germany Italy, Paraguay, Brazil, Portugal, Spain marginals : SA, Nigeria, Ghana, Cameroon, and (Switzerland or Chile I am stuck on). Final 4 Brazil, Arg, Spain , US But, heck, what do I know about football? Then I looked at the country charts I had ( Fra, Ger, Arg, Mex, NL, USA, Eng, Italy, Brazil, Portugal, Spain, Japan, NK, SK, SA, Aus & switz). Based on the astrology I reckon: Germany will tough it out through most of comp but not get to final - if they do they won't win France will do well in early stages but will make a dramatic exit Italy will be boring ( more like Germany than Italy) but I don't see them winning Spain will win the competition Mexico will get knocked out in group stages but be happy about Spain winning Brazil will do ok but not make the final ( but I'm crap at forecasting Brazil at anything) Argentina has a chart with nothing going on (will do pretty much as expected - will prob come third ( they will be relatively ok about Spain win given that) would like to look at Messi chart though. USA will do well - maybe knocking out someone like France or Brazil, but won't win NL and England will both be disappointed in the end. NL might get through to final 4. Eng could even make final ,.. but...oh dear Portugal is however the team most likely to meet Spain in final, but not to win Australia will have a average tournament but not get to final 4 Something will happen that will make the Swiss behave in a most un-Swiss manner. ( Bad ref decision that gets Chile through groups and not them?) and of course NK and SK will pull out due to ... Japan - will get involved in that. Ok I'm joking - I just can't see any of them winning regardless of the astrology But, heck, what do I know about astrology either? 30 by Andrew Bevan Sticking to the horary for some sort of perspective, there is that mutual reception between Mercury and Venus. Venus could be Libra and Argentina, but she is intercepted in the 10th and indicates something exceptional and exciting. The exceptional is the state of an exalted planet, or rulership by exaltation. Venus rules Pisces by exaltation, where Jupiter and the Moon are located. Pisces could be Portugal, although Pisces does cast its antiscia to Libra - picking up on the Argentinian theme if things don't work out for my guess Portugal. I really like the thing that Ficina said about the Sun and Moon being joined in Cancer in the chart for the final, showing some sort of familarity between the two final teams! This could be a great clue! Jupiter is exalted in Cancer, and finding the Moon joined to Jupiter in Pisces in the horary chart, keeps my mind pounding on the possibilities of Portugal. Neptune is on the ascendant of the chart for the final (Portugal?), but then I lean towards Venus, Mars and Saturn all joined in Virgo (Brazil). Venus brings fortune to Virgo, but Pisces - disposed by Venus by exaltation - may fall for Virgo. I am also noting that the final chart has Scorpio on the MC, which agrees with the Sunsign of the Brazilian coach, Dunga, and Lucimar, who is the captain, has is Sun 17 Taurus and in sextile with the Luminaries in Cancer. I have looked at the charts of the coach Carlos for Portugal and their captain Ronaldo. In my opinion, Ronaldo's Mercury in Aquarius with the detrimented Sun is a possible token of the runner's up. This is still all such a long shot. The games have to be played either way and the only way about it is by examining the charts and sharing our ideas as we go along. http://www.astronor.com

32 by Ficina I've been looking at Groups G and H and (if I've worked it out correctly) it appears likely that Spain will play Portugal in the knock-out stage (final 16) IF things go according to form/odds. We'll have to wait and see but I think those two groups will be very interesting to follow.
33 by Andrew Bevan And the winner of that match could be up against Argentina. http://www.astronor.com

You are correct. I agree it is unlikely Portugal will be outright woinner of group but it is possible for it to be close and them to be top of group on goal difference. Still someone out of Spain Portugal and Brazil has to go in that 16 I did go back and see which of my other predictions wouldn't work though. Someone out of Germany, UK and USA has to go in that stage, too ....[/q "The universe is full of magical things, patiently waiting for our wits to grow sharper" Eden Phillpotts

Maradonna has the Moon in Pisces with the South Node. Could this be a soft spot? Dunga has his Moon in Aries with Jupiter and opposite Argentina Libra. This is an example of how things may be added up. Argentina should not be outruled. I notice their Captain, Javier, born 8/6-1984, has his natal Sun in the 18th degree of Gemini, which is conjunct Venus in the horary. Brazil/Argentina in the final is my 2nd option. The tournament is going to be so exciting! http://www.astronor.com
