25 by damon You realize that it only takes an error of a few minutes by the nurse who wrote down his birthtime for him to have Libra ASC? Quote Sun Mar 10, 2013 11:34 pm
26 by james_m thanks everyone who participated here... like i said before - it is a way for us to learn astrology better and benefit from each others willingness to share. if anyone wants to comment more on the chart after the fact, i think that is great too, as there may be more valuable insights to be shared here.. 27 by MorningSun Good one James!! After the list of doctors I next had sports announcer, sports broadcaster, pretty cool!! Although when I read Marks post including HOCKEY, a lightbulb went off and I thought that was right on!! Hit me as being right and making sense. I assumed if I did his chart in a different house system, his sun would be in 7th, so I was looking at it from that perspective, and with Sun ruling 10th, he would rise to the top in his profession. Moon conjunct Neptune, on the Asc, would bring public fame in movies/TV (Neptune ruler of films, movies). I again assumed or considered, not only the Sun angular in the 7th, (other people), Then both lights would be in sect. Mars and Mercury in 5th, gave the Sports, trining Neptune and Moon, in film/TV, mass public notariety. All makes sense now!! Very Cool!! Thanks James!! Quote Mon Mar 11, 2013 1:20 am

I am spectacularly sport averse for a guy so maybe that is a blind spot of mine. I gave all my focus to Mars but rather neglected the importance of that oriental Mercury in the 5th. Looking at it now though both were disposited by Jupiter which is Lord 3 (communication). Also Jupiter is sextile the Moon (popularity). Mercury was Lord 11 and NN in 11th (acquisition from others). The Moon has a good plactic trine to Mercury too. Another example of how the difficulties of a planet in detriment/fall can be seriously overemphasized. This example does seem to support the modern notion that Neptune is linked to Cinema/TV media. 29 by damon From what I see Jupiter is lord of 2nd not 3??Which house system did you use Mark and Morning Sun? For me Uranus MC is more typical of a broadcaster than the confusing Neptune. I actually thought of a third house occupation because Saturn is the final dispositor of the chart, but something more introvert like writing Quote Mon Mar 11, 2013 3:02 am
30 by MorningSun Hi Damon, I didn't really use any house system, but I was thinking, that if the chart had been Placidus, the sun probably would be angular and in 7th. Generally there are more than one indicator in the chart, that substantiate each other for a trait and the Sun ruling the 10th was it for me, indicating for me His sun was probably angular and in the 7th, rather than 6th. But I have not pulled up his chart in Placidus to see for sure with his birth info that James posted. I think Mark meant Jupiter was in the 3rd. I also considered that Libra could very well be the Asc, as I noticed you mentioned that also. Quote Mon Mar 11, 2013 3:23 am
31 by pankajdubey I got black ink and publishing. It should be sportscasting. Looks like refereeing is a saturnine job too. Quote Mon Mar 11, 2013 4:45 am

But I have not pulled up his chart in Placidus to see for sure with his birth info that James posted. Your obviously unfamiliar with Equal houses. They are quite common here in the UK but maybe less so over the pond. The ASC-DESC axis degree defines the cusps of the 1st-7th just as with any quadrant houses (e.g. Placidus). The Sun would be in the 6th in every quadrant system as it has sunk well below the horizon line. Its over 8 degrees below the DESC degree. So even using the common medieval-renaissance 5 degree applying orb to the following house the Sun would still be in the 6th with Placidus. Unlike any quadrant system though Equal houses do not define the 4th/10th house cusps from the IC/MC but rather the degree of the ASC/DESC axis is used to derive the degree of every other house cusp. As this is a night chart the Moon is the sect light and is angular. So my focus would be more here than the Sun to explain his success. Mars is a triplicity ruler in the water element along with the Moon and Venus. 33 by damon Mark You must have used quadrant system thats the only way Jupiter can be lord of 3rd?! Quote Mon Mar 11, 2013 12:59 pm
House Systems 34 by MorningSun Mark wrote: Your obviously unfamiliar with Equal houses. Mark Hello Mark, As the birth time is A, I still suspect the Sun to be Angular, however the doctor professions I read as the chart was with a 6th house Sun. Then went with that little voice that says something is wrong with this, and feeling it was a 7th hse sun. Everything you read and process gets into your subconscious, and inevitably you can read symbols. Sometimes the rational brain can take you all over the place. Had I just left my initial impression of only a few minutes it was correct. The more I thought about it and used my rational brain fully, I edited it and came up with many more possibilities of a profession. Regarding House Systems, you are so right, that is a big hole in my astrological education! I was introduced to astrology at about 10 yrs old, with American Astrology and Horoscope magazines. Then in late 70's/early 80's did a few hand charts, then got on with life. Still read occassionally, until about 13/14 yrs ago got back into it and by then of course we have astrology programs. I was more intent on learning the delineations and predictions. As I mentioned before, I just never gave other house systems a thought. I did a few Koch and Regiomontanus, but they were not much different so I stayed with Placidus and was very fine with that, until all the discussions here regarding House Systems. One day, when I have the time, I do need to bone up on the houses systems and go back and construct some charts by hand. But alas, Life has many more pressing things at the moment. So I do enjoy the discussions regarding the house systems as they have been very enlightening to me. Quote Mon Mar 11, 2013 2:10 pm
35 by james_m one of the aspects that i found interesting to the chart was something that pankajdubey touched on and to which we all had a conversation on in the 'overcoming' thread.. the pronounced sun square saturn puts saturn in the dominant position here in the sign capricorn and 3rd house. i thought it was interesting that his life seems more focused on 3rd house type matters then they do on 6th, but perhaps i am discounting the presence of jupiter when i say this. that is one thought that struck me looking at his chart. this idea of 'overcoming' is much like the idea of solar or derivative houses expect the focus is not just on the sun, but can be on any planet position. But ultimately, without AA data we can both cling to our conflicting views without any resolution. Thats why I dont think we should be using anything other than AA data for these exercises. I think Mark meant Jupiter was in the 3rd. Clearly yes! Interesting Jupiter is the dispositor of Mars and Mercury while Saturn is bound ruler of the MC and also located in the 3rd. Both Jupiter/Saturn (3rd WSH) are in the 10th place from the Lot of Fortune. A very powerful placement for both planets. Ahh astrological hindsight is so easy!
