Roy Alexander in 'The Astrology of Choice' p. 174 said
"You should only present it to a client (your delineations) as a point for discussion, not as an established fact."

Which is not easy to do in a forum. Lacking information, missing analysis and... missing the person.
This is something I struggled with when I started doing consultations. I was so eager to share the knowledge I had acquired with astrology until I realized that the person in front of me had the answer (should I say his answer) and opening up the discussion is more important than being a demiurge.
And Alexander reminds us of 3 things:
1) Give up your need to be right.
2) Always be where the client is.
3) Listen
And for all 3, you don't need to be an astrologer.

Just red the new book by Alexey Borealis (markrusborn) ”Mysteries of Medieval Astrology—Part 1” and on page 45 he too mentions in-laws as signification of the 9th house.
