One other thing... 37 by Sunny Dawn Even though I don't care much for the "North Node is what you're here to do; S. Node is what you fall back on" view, I should mention in fairness that one of the Vedic perspectives on the Nodes is nearly identical to this view. Rahu is your dharma, Ketu is your karma. All I know is that if my birth chart was a horary, the answer would be "No". My Blog: http://slushpileastrology.blogspot.com/ Quote Mon Apr 14, 2008 2:10 pm

I think that to effectively delineate it in a chart you'd have to know some intimate details of the native, and that's why I generally ignore it, that and conflicting views of it. Sunny Dawn wrote:Rahu never tires of his quest to again taste the ambrosia. When that lands right on the Descendent, it can cause a constant craving for relationships with no real satisfaction. When Rahu conjuncts Chiron, I have seen on two occasions a constant craving for healing in people who died prematurely. The thing they needed and wanted more than anything, they could not get. That's very interesting. My North Node is the 9th House (Higher Education). I've been trying to complete my bachelor's degree for nearly 26 years and suffered nothing but setback after setback. It's totally bizarre. I find a 3rd shift job so I can take classes during the day, and as soon as I register for classes, I get laid off. I take a job as a temp, find another job on 3rd shift, and as soon as I register for classes, I get laid off. Another time I was driving to the first class session and got into an auto accident. My car was totaled, and the insurance company wouldn't give me a rental car until I hired an attorney 3 weeks later, but had to withdraw from classes. Another time I was injured two before the start of the fall quarter and spent the next 3 years on disability. I come off disability, get a job, register for classes and then get laid off. And that's just a few of the many bizarre and weird things that have happened along the way. I'd recently come to the conclusion that if I wasn't any closer by the end of this summer, I'd have to give up permanently, before I lose the chance to have a family and children. 41 by Yossarian This day is extremely significant and we can expect Hillary to win either the popular vote or more delegates or both. But will it be enough? The Sun in the Kendra is the double-edged sword for Libra ascendant, as it rules the trouble-causing Badhaka house, the 11th. This seems to confirm that Clinton will do better in Pennsylvania than Obama. That's a nice analysis, but without accurate birth times for Obama or Clinton, it's all for naught. Clinton cannot win outright with delegates unless she wins all remaining contest by 71% or more, but if she wins by at least 58% she'll pull more super-delegates and win. 42 by Papretis Hi all and especially Dr. H., take a look at this: http://planetwaves.net/pagetwo/2008/05/ ... ed-at-uac/ Not far from the time Dr. H. suggested - and yes, Ketu (South Node) in the 1st house (if the time really is valid)! Quote Fri May 16, 2008 1:35 pm
43 by Tom The time was announced by Dallas astrologer Joni Patry, who said she obtained it from a client who works for the Obama campaign. She in turn obtained it from a ?campaign manager? who accessed the data through a closed-access government database. The time is 7:11 pm, and the date (as known previously) Aug. 4, 1961 in Honolulu. The chart gives 14+ Aquarius rising. In other words, they got it from a guy who got it from a guy who got it from a secret place. I'm not impressed. The man is only 47 years old. There is a good possibility the hospital he was born in still exists. Can't anyone access the data from there? I'll stick with Dr. H's rectification for now. Tom Quote Fri May 16, 2008 4:32 pm
Obama 44 by RegulusAstrology Yes I am following the news out of UAC. My proposed Aquarius Ascendant agrees though I am later than the proposed time. With Mercury about to station in Gemini, sign of Obama's Moon, I will have another look at his chart in the next month or so and post some additional findings in mid-June. Without a birth certificate, questions will still remain on this figure. The more I get involved with rectification, the more I see the bias of Mercury involved in what kind of information is available. For Obama, Mercury is under the sunbeams moving quickly towards combustion. This means his actions are hidden and somewhat damaged, though some authors suggest this debility is mitigated in Obama's case because Mercury is received by the Sun. What I am saying is that there is a correlation between Mercury under the sunbeams in Obama's chart - hidden - and the failure to obtain or 'see' an actual birth certificate. My intial reaction to the earlier proposed time is to question the viability of fixed signs on the MC-IC axis given his frequent moves as a child and young adult conform to Gemini on the IC closely conjunct Moon/Gemini as I have delineated. That's an issue I will have to sort out - because if the earlier time is correct, then his frequent moves will need to be shown by some other chart point. Kudos also to two Vedic astologers Ron Day and Ron Gaunt who also selected Aquarius as the Acendant, and picked times which were closer than mine. They have posted over at a Yahoo mundane group. 45 by ### All sorts of secrecy and privileged information around this new time, so I will be very cautious in accepting it. And then there?s the dramatic ?revealing? at UAC? A potential fame-booster, for sure. Some thoughts, Obama's chart or not: Simply a Gemini Moon in the 4th might introduce an element of change/movement/fluctuation in the early home life. The Moon is the 4th house almuten, so that would increase the Moon's importance in home matters. Moon is sextile Mercury, its dispositor, so the two planets of movement are in aspect, but Mercury in Fixed Leo probably would calm things down a bit. Venus rules the 4th and is disposited by the Moon in Cardinal Cancer. We often think of Cancer as a stick-in-the-mud sign representative of the homebody, but Cancer is a Cardinal sign, so there's plenty of movement there in conjunction with the ruling Moon's fluctuations. Stepping away from the purely traditional approach, Venus is at the midpoint of the Moon-Mercury sextile ? so there?s Cardinal Venus between Mercury and the angular Gemini Moon. Maybe the aspects of Jupiter in 12 to the Moon and Mercury, offer plenty of opportunity for change. Jupiter in the 12th might bring a cadent weakening of situations and structures. Yet Another Birth Time for Obama Announced 47 by Planet_Waves http://planetwaves.net/pagetwo/2008/05/ ... ed-at-uac/ Yet Another Birth Time For Obama Announced I can?t promise you this is real, but I can promise you it?s interesting. Tonight at the opening ceremony (and I do mean ceremony) for the United Astrology Conference (UAC), a new birth time for Democratic presidential front-runner Barack Obama was announced. As Planet Waves Astrology News readers are aware, birth times for all the major candidates have been in contention or unreliable, which is unprecedented in modern astrological history. The time was announced by Dallas astrologer Joni Patry, who said she obtained it from a client who works for the Obama campaign. She in turn obtained it from a ?campaign manager? who accessed the data through a closed-access government database. The time is 7:11 pm, and the date (as known previously) Aug. 4, 1961 in Honolulu. The chart gives 14+ Aquarius rising. Patry told me that since it was obtained from a ?private government website,? a copy of the document would not be available. It cannot, therefore, be authenticated and under the Lois Rodden rating system, which sets the industry standard, it is ?dirty data? or DD rating because there is not documentation, and there are conflicting times. By contrast, a birth certificate in hand gets an AA rating and ?from memory? gets an A rating. DD is the lowest rating. Sources at the conference told me that people from the late Rodden?s company, Astrodatabank, were working with Patry and others to verify the authenticity of the documentation involved. 48 by Deb Hi Eric, First up, thanks for pointing us to Planet Waves and congratulations on your efforts there. I can?t promise you this is real, but I can promise you it?s interesting. I mean no disrespect to Patry, but this is the cruncher isn?t it? It remains dirty data unless it gets verified, and by that standard this shouldn?t be seen as so interesting. For unverified data it has already had huge amounts of publicity, which adds to the assumption that it can be relied upon. It will be great if Astrodabank can validate. If not, then I think we need to be more rigorous in differentiating between data that has been proven, and that which has come from ?a friend of a friend?. PS ? I was one of the astrologers at the UAC opening ceremony who quickly got out my pen and paper and scribbled down the data because I knew it was going to become important. But why was it seen as so important? Mainly because of the publicity, dramatic effect and showmanship by which it was delivered at the UAC ceremony. I've since calmed down and written 'UNPROVEN' alongside it. Unless it can be proven, I have no intention of using it. Quote Mon Jun 02, 2008 12:24 pm
