None of the forums regulars seem to have been in this evening. Probably not watching football
I watched the Everton match on TV. Everton(Saturn) managed to win despite the presence of a few testimonies for AZ, so it seems all right now to bet on teams represented by Saturn, though it's still slow.

I earned a bit from Aberdeen's win :D

Goca:
Andrew, thanks for detailed data.
My astro program calculate these value for this point:
05 TAU 41 P/DEATH-trad.
18 SAG 14 Point of DEATH
Which house system are you using? I'm on Regiomontanus.
If the calculation of the part of death is based upon the cusp of the 8th - then the result will vary according to the house system.

I can't remember the odds here. Who were favourites? PoS(n) was conjunct Jupiter.

I'm on two Russian Icehockey games this afternoon.
Omsk-Torp 13.00 GMT
Odds 1,40 5,00 5,10
I've gone for the favourite here seeing PoS(n) sextile Neptune.
Salavat-St. Petersburg 13.30 GMT
Odds: 1,60 4,50 3,80
Seeing that PoS(n) was square Uranus, and Uranus in no way relating to the 7th, I have gone for the underdog at 3,8:1

Gem and Andrew,
The Aberdeen and AZ charts look exactly the same to me, so how come the home team won one and the away team the other? Both home teams were favourites BTW.

PS Thanks for birthday wishes, Andrew :)

Great question, Ficina.
In the Aberdeen game PoS(n) was conjunct Jupiter (a fortune)
In the Alkmaar game PoS(n) was closest opposite Mars. Mars has dignities in the place of PoS(n) by exaltation. I have several cases where Mercury is dispositor of PoF or PoS(n) and opposite that point, and that has done nothing but confirm the success of the favourite, but Mars is of a different quality, viz an infortune. I have a number of cases on file where an infortune is conjunct PoF or PoS(n) and that destroys it for the favourite, too.

These observations work fine when the planets involved do not rule important places like the asc.,des or 4th.

I had looked for Rennes to win their match yesterday with PoS(n) conjunct the Sun, but the Sun seems to be acting as an infortune while it is joined to Pluto. I will go back and check with other charts when I have got time.

Manisa-Besiktas 18.00 GMT
Odds: 3,50 3,20 2,00
This should go Besiktas way. They are favourites, but I am not sure whether to give them the Asc or Des. PoS(n) in CP is trine Saturn (a testimony for the favourites) who is lord of 7th - a testimony for the descendant. I'm giving it a try anyhow! :'

Thanks for the explanation, Andrew. I think I'm beginning to get the hang of your new method but I have a couple of questions. Is it the type of aspect that's significant or the nature of the planet? For example, you said
PoS(n) in CP is trine Saturn (a testimony for the favourites)
Although Saturn is a malefic, does the trine make it OK? Or is it the fact that PoS is in Saturn's sign? If the latter is the case, then wouldn't it be the same in the AZ Alkmaar game? You pointed out that Mars, although a malefic and opp PoS, has dignity by exaltation. Yet the favourites lost :?

I put my money on Aberdeen because their antiscion is exactly conjunct the Part of Spirit, the Moon was in the 10th, and its anticsion was right on the AC. Aberdeen were faves but I think they were not odds on.

I wasn't sure about the Everton match because there were testimonies for both sides.
Testimonies for Az : Moon in 10th and L4 in opposition to the POS.
Testimonies for Everton: Lord 10 in 4 and Saturn being the dispositor of the POS.

I've found sig being the dispositor of either POF/POS quite a positive testimony.

It seems Andrew is developing his own unique method.

Anyone, any thoughts on the Arsenal-Spurs match at 12:45 tomorrow? I'd say Spurs will do fine if it's not Arsenal they are playing but it is, I don't know!

Thanks, Gem. I see you are now heavily into antiscia :brows I guess when there are testimonies for both sides, like the Everton game, then it's best to keep your money in your pocket!
I'd say Spurs will do fine if it's not Arsenal they are playing but it is, I don't know!
I'd just been looking at that chart, and my thoughts were exactly the same! North London derby though, so anything could happen.

Well, I take note of them now but I'd strongly advise caution with their use! Like you said they're often red herrings.

I have gone for Arsenal this afternoon. Odds: 1,53:1 I have the ascendant 27AR07. Venus, who is lady of the 7th is an the antiscia of Neptune. Mars, lord of the 1st, is in opposition to Mercury, but Mars is in the closest contact with the PoF - by a square through signs of long ascension.

I have backed Chesterfield at 13.00 GMT seeing that PoF is trine the Moon. Odds: 1,58:1 I suppose that this match could end a draw, really, seeing that PoF is in Libra and the Moon is lady of the 4th. :-S

Hi, the more details we can provide on the matches, ie Asc. MC, Moon, details and odds - the easier it is to evaluate our technique. I don't think we have to be afraid of 'giving the secret away' at present.

I got problems sorting out the asc and des, home team, away team, favourite and underdog. My sports predictions are in a jumble at the moment. It could be I am battling with different strictures. I always found ways around the strictures in other approaches to astrology - they provided information to the interpretation. In competitions it is not so. The strictures really do seem to affect either judgement or the outfall of the result.

The moon was VOC yesterday - and almost all the outsiders got their shot against the favourites. The 4 games I was trying to combine will give well over 100:1 when Brighton have played theirs. This game was postponed!

My idea is that Fortuna (or Spirit by night) describes the favourite, and by observing this alone it should be able to determine who wins the match. Does the favourite win or not? In regard to the Part of Fortune (or PoS) the planets perform as fortunes and infortunes according to their natural powers and qualities. But secondly, the interpretation takes a different turn as soon as the planet involved is either ruler of asc or Des, or dispositor of Fortuna. The trouble is that the strictures are absolute. And then of course, there is the 4th house... :-S

But I'm not there, yet. Probably the VOC Moon and flipping combust planets
