 LOL

So you're not American? Yet you're caught up in the passion of the race as well. Interesting!

The nodes to ASC are significant in both charts for the winner of the nomination. Obama's ASC conjucted the north node, where as McCain's ASC trined it.

Looks like if he wins, it'll be too much for him and our American friends will wind up with that wingnut from Alaska for President.
Wingnut?? Her values are what this country was built on. I have no problem with people challenging these values but to paint her as a nut is misplaced, imo.

This is why I haven't stated who I'm rootin' for. You're going to have passionate views on both sides and it gets off the topic of astrology and trying to objectively analyze the chart.

Its not easy, I agree.

Ok I accept this is another digression...... :D

I do not agree McCain has made a mistake here. In fact I think having Sarah Palin as his running mate is a very astute move politically.

McCain has to achieve four major objectives to win in November:

1 He needs to persuade swing voters that he's willing to take on the Republican establishment.

2 He needs to persuade conservatives that he isn't too liberal on social issues

3 He needs to appeal to more female voters.

4 He needs a ticket that doesn't look too old and stuck in the past.

Sarah Palin seems ideal to fulfill 1-4. She may not attract die hard Hilary Clinton supporters but they were never the female demographic the Republicans were trying to attract anyway.

If I was a Republican my only anxiety would be a Vice-Presidential debate between her and Joe Biden that gets into Foreign policy issues. :)

Passionate views are fine. Resorting to name calling and insults is not, imo.

I've said my peace. Only astrology now.

Since so much talk is about whether Sarah Palin would be ready for the Presidency I asked as a horary question:

Would Palin make a good President?

I used the free chart service at http://alabe.com/cgi-bin/chart/astrobot.cgi?Y and whatever house system it uses.

It looks good at first blush. North Node conj. Asc. Aquarius Asc. ruler Saturn in Virgo in 7th (accidental exaltation) trining Jupiter the ruler of 10th house. Jupiter in Capricorn in it's fall but it's ruler is Saturn Palin's ruler! She can deal well with the problems? Sun ruler of 7th conj. Saturn in 7th house? Interesting!

Does anyone see a glaring negative?

Yes... she is only standing for Vice-President not President! :,

Isn't your question incredibly premature considering:

a) McCain has not (and may never) be elected President :o

b) McCain has not (and may never) die in office

Also keep in mind the notorious 'curse' of the Vice Presidency which means hardly any Vice-Presidents have ever succeeded in being elected by the people later as President. :,

Well, the question is big in the news right now. Whether the person could be President is a main consideration in picking them. Everyone is talking about how she is too inexperienced and could not do that. That is where my question comes from.

One real problem with my analysis of this chart is that she is shown by the 7th house. I'm the querent and represented by the Asc. Back to the drawing board.

Here is the chart where I asked "Will a Republican be President in 2008".

March 12, 2007

Alcabitius House System

Hour is Jupiter, Asc Venus in Aries both Fire signs and I felt qualifies the chart good to read.

Rep. in 1st house Taurus ruler Venus in Aries in 12th house. Venus is in detriment in Aries and weak in 12th. Ruler Mars is in Aquarius in 10th house of Reps. 10th House sign Capricorn ruler Saturn in very bad shape and has Mars coming into opposition. Capricorn is in late degree showing changing parties and moving into Aquarius, the sign where Dems Mars is sitting.

Dems in 7th house, Scorpio ruler Mars in Aquarius in their 4th house also opposing Saturn which is in their 10th house. Their 10th house sign is Cancer, ruler Moon in Sag. in 8th house. Cancer will move into Leo shortly ruled by the Sun that sits in 11th house in Pieces ruled by Jupiter in 8th in Sagittarius. Sun is in very good shape.

My judgment of this chart is that the Democrats will win the Presidency. Venus does not make aspects to Saturn or it's own ruler. Mars makes a bad aspect to Saturn but there is activity. The Mars/Saturn opposition showing separation effects both parties and either party might regret having the job.

Moon is an issue here that I'm unsure of. It is Rep's. co-ruler and ruler of Dem's 10th. It is in Sagittarius in the 8th house in late degree conj. Pluto. Venus, Moon and Saturn all share fire trip.
Ideas?

VP's who have been elected President or become president by death of their President.

John Adam, elected
Thomas Jefferson, elected
John Tyler, Succession
Millard Filmore, Succession
Andrew Johnson, succession
Chester Arthur, Succession
Teddy Roosevelt, Succession AND election
Calvin coolidge, succession
Harry Truman, succession and Election
Richard Nixon, was not Elected Right After his Session as VP under Eisenhower, but After two interceding presidents of Kennedy and Johnson.
L.B. Johnson, succession and election
Gerald Ford... succession sort of, Nixon left office and gave it to him, in return for a full pardon.
George Bush Senior - election
I for one would put Al Gore in Here because I still dispute that W won that election but hey! ;-)
Succession is a SERIOUS concern and as you see has come up numerous times in the history of this country. I for one wouldabsolutely never take a vp nomination lightly. Its entirely too possible to be a reality. in fact that is what a 25% or higher chance of becoming President? 1 of 4 presidents (actually slightly higher) have become president as a result of being VP? someone want to check the math there?
