Hi Gunhilde and Granny - I also want to say that I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to bow out of forum discussions for a few days as there has been a death in the family and I'm tied up with the funeral and other arrangements (this concerns an elderly family member to whom I was never especially close, and her death came as a relief to her family, so I'm not especially upset).

But I also wanted to add that I missed the house debate within this thread and never knew about it until tonight. There are some points that I would be very pleased to respond to when I get more time, but I'll place them in another thread rather than disrupt this one further.

(In the meantime can I just say - "orbs and houses cusps - too good to miss!" :D )

Hello Deb,

When its a more appropriate time for you I would be very interested in hearing your views on this horary. I found it quite a tricky one to read even with Regio house cusps and traditional orbs!

Plus I would love to see the 'Whole sign houses in horary' discussion moved to a separate thread on the traditional forum. I totally missed the fact Chris had replied! I do think his contribution got rather buried here and as a result this important issue didn't get the readers or responses it deserved.

This is a long, loaded thread, and I?ve only had time to quickly catch up with the first page ? so I?m still on the first chart! To be honest, this sort of horary is not my thing, especially because I get more than my fair share of ?affair? charts from clients :)
It is a complicated horary and I think the way to crack it is by building up a good understanding of how the significators describe and relate to the persons involved. Obviously only GH can do that, but briefly, I would take the 7th and its ruler to describe the person of interest and the prospects of the relationship; but I would also look at the 10th house and its ruler to see how that helps to describe this work-place attraction and the professional reputations involved. The first thing I noticed was the South Node on the MC. With that, and with the natural symbolism of the Sun applying closely to the conjunction of Saturn in the 10th, I think I would have advised your friend that work-place attractions look fraught with problems. My advice would have been to stop thinking of the boss as someone who was open to the prospect of an affair ? either he is not in a position to develop that; or it could be very seriously detrimental to him, or your friend.

It is hard for me to look at this question now without the knowledge of what has since happened, but doesn?t it seem fitting that the Moon applies to the conjunction of Venus over a sign boundary, which usually represents a barrier or obstacle that needs to be crossed for the union to occur? The position of the main significators, and the whole collection of applications in the 11th house ? and involving the 11th house ruler- really seem to point to a developing friendship, rather than a sexual affair ? which is what seems to have happened so far. But Venus and Mars are within orb and they do come together, so maybe the relationship will take off if the work obstacles are removed. With him leaving soon for another job, this does seem a good time to ask a further question.

Hi all,

Yes, it does seem like the 11th house emphasis is certainly being played out in their developing relationship. My friend was well aware that crossing professional boundaries is a minefield, and so has maintained a certain distance and formal decorum with her boss, at least in the presence of other coworkers. She stressed that the rapport is quite genuine, however; hence her second question about whether it would or could continue after he leaves.

As to the second chart, what I find most interesting is the lopsided receptions between the Sun and Saturn. If we use Lilly's method of taking Venus for the woman as well as the main significators, it does seem like the Sun is quite keen on her from every aspect (in domicile of Venus and exaltation of Saturn), while the Moon and Saturn as the querent show strong reception (Moon to Sun) and no reception (Saturn to Sun). This intrigues me.

Saturn's placement in the 7th house but not in the quesited's sign has led me to wonder about my friend's motives (I shall question her on this later)...is she interested in this man for himself, or simply as a means to an end? Saturn is disposed by Mercury, 5th ruler, so it seems she has more of an eye to a fling or something not serious (knowing her, this is probably the case :) ).

I have to do some 'work' now, but will try to delineate further, later on.

Can Jupiter be said to be collecting or translating light from the Sun to Saturn? The Sun separates from Jupiter but Jupiter applies to Saturn, albeit very slowly right now. Surely this is a translation? But in what context, being that Jupiter is 10th/11th/12th ruler? The secrecy implied by being placed in the 12th house would suggest some sort of 'covert' activity, although again the emphasis doesn't seem to be on love affairs; otherwise I would expect to see Mercury there rather than Jupiter.
