In the 2009 competition the Sun was conjunct Algol. In the winning entry 'Fairytale' we found the following lyrics: "I don't care if I loose my mind, I am already cursed!"

This year the Sun is unaspected at 8GE18 and conjunct the Northern Eye of the Bull. The question is whether the Sun is like a 'Satellite' that is apart of the World and watching ('Like a satellite I'm in orbit all the way around you'), or the unaspected Sun is suffering communication problems and in fact weeping, 'Drip, Drop'.

On 27. May there is the preceeding syzygy, being the full Moon at 6SG33. The Moon is culminating in Oslo at that time (23.08 GMT) with the MC 4SG49. The syzygy is sextile Meyer-Landrut's Saturn at 6AQ48 opposite the Jupiter at 7LE46. This is leaning back toward the importance of the Jupiter/Saturn opposition.

The event chart: Saturn, Lord of the 3rd, beholding the Ascendant by sextile aspect is the Satellite. Saturn in Pisces may have been drip-drop, but Virgo is singular and dry.

More about the fixed star the Sun is joined to - the Northern and Left Eye of the Bull, also called Ain Hyades. It is only a small 3,5 magnitude star in comparison with the bright Southern Eye of the Bull, namely Aldebaran, who is a bright 1 magnitude star and the Watcher of the East. Aldebaran means 'the follower'. Ain Hyades does directly translate into the Bull's Eye. Maybe that means something being close to the core of the matter. It is also known by another traditional name 'Coronis', meaning 'crow' or 'raven'. According to mythology Coronis was one of Apollo's lovers. Then Coronis fell in love with someone else and that made Apollo furious.

I wish I knew more about the astrological effect of this star. Being the smaller eye of Taurus, it makes me think about the game 'I Spy with my little Eye'. Satellites do spy - in the same way as the crow in the mythology was the 'tell-tail'. One version of the myth says that Artimetis changed Coronis into a crow, another that Apollo was responsible for turning the color of the Raven into black.

Just before last years final the odds on Norway winning krept down to 2,00:1. The price on Azerbaijan is creeping down to 2,5:1. I don't feel any comparison between 'Drip, Drop' and 'Fairytale'. It appears that the Azerbaijan entry has been marketed aggressively through the internet, chat forums and the like. Also supported in the betting market. However, when it comes to various presentations and commentaries it appears that Azerbaijan is considered about midstream.

Transit Saturn is retrograding in on that natal Sun of Safura - but maybe Saturn's lack of dignity and second station will cause a frustration and the rally to fall short. My shirt is still on Germany. Azerbaijan have to qualify in the first semi-final, while Germany are automatically qualified to the final. There will be a change to get a measure of the actual sentiment before the big night.

The odds on Germany were over 7:1 at Betfair yesterday, but dropped down to 5:1 after the Google announcement. Unibet has Azerbaijan at 2,60:1, Germany at 4,85:1 and Israel down on a 3rd place at 5:1.

The main battle seems to be between Azerbaijan (peregrine Saturn stationary in Virgo) and Germany (Mars in Leo in face and terms). The thing with Azerbaijan is that it is too orchestrated. There is an industry behind with a large scale budget focusing on demo, remixes and internet promotion. Saturn might tend to do something like this - stiffle, stiffen and act in overcompensation. Safura is truely beautiful, but will the viewers feels compelled to vote for the babe and topless torso of her impeccable male dancer. The industry naturally wants to see their own production win and they will be supporting it - but will their campaign succeeed? Azerbaijan are receiving a mixed reception among the audience. A Swedish panel didn't even have them qualifying to the final. It is going to be very exciting to see how this works out.

I wanted to check out a theory that says that the planet with the highest elevation in a chart is raised above his opponents. The question looks at the difference between the South point and the nonagesimal.

As the snapshot from WinStars shows, Mars on the nonagesimal is higher in the sky than Saturn at the moment the Eurovision 2010 final starts. This is in addition to Mars being in his own essential dignities, while Saturn has none.

I am not sure whether Saturn should be reckoned as peregrine in Virgo - probably not since he shares the same powers as the sign, both are cold and dry. Mars is in Leo, a sign that agrees with his natural powers, and he is in his own face and terms.

Excellent idea! If that appear to be true we could use this method in another contests!!

We also have to give some thought to the implications of such a thesis. The South lifts a planet to it's higher elevation, but could the nonagesimal stille retain a competitive advantage? There is the need to think out what this means in terms of combining or choosing between quadrant and equal house systems.
