Well, my journey stops here sharing examples. I started it under a VE cazimi in the Sun/Venus cycle in Libra hoping it would bring some light and harmony and detachment which is much needed when pursuing things in the material world. For things will come to you, you don't need to run after them. You simply need to recognize it when it is being offered to you.
I also hope I brought you 'one of the way' you can read events and not just with winning.
After all we are diurnal creatures.

- Transiting JU ruling diurnal 8th from the event 5th sextile natal ME ruling diurnal and natal AS and 2nd House.
- Transiting SU on the cusp of the 8th House cj natal UR in between MC cj UR and the 2nd H cusp.
- AS in the midpoint SU/JU (SU cusp of 8th/JU sextile ME)
- About 15 m later, both SU and JU will become Angular - good for a little run

Here is what I am looking for
- I ran a report for 2023 with Solar Fire when a planet will be aspecting my axis 2nd/8th House cusp (Conjunction, Trine, Sextile -Topocentric)
- I came up with 59 dates and I am reviewing them as they come along looking to put the planets involved in the axis 2nd/8th House cusp, Angular or in lucky midpoint. Not all of these dates will end up in buying lottery tickets. They may indicate something else related to money if the natal or diurnal points in a different direction. And looking at the 2nd/8th House axis is one way to look at it.
- Better if you have 2 planets making an aspect at the same time like a sextile between SU and UR in the above chart. What I call a double transit.
- Also very good if you have JU or Fortuna in the picture.

In his book 'Predictive Astrology', Juan Estadella says that
"The astrological houses are not generated on the sphere, but instead according to the time of ascension. By ascension we understand the apparent rotation movement of the firmament around the topocentric axis, which passes through the birthplace parallel to the earth’s axis. The topocentric formulas do not belong to spherical trigonometry but to the plane trigonometry applied to the cone. The geometric figure that perfectly reflects the function of ascension is precisely the cone. On this cone, the astrological houses are created."
Diurnals with the Topocentric House System go hand-in-hand.

Estadella also says "The house is a purely receptive factor and when it enters into contact with a planet it generates or justifies a specific event according to the symbolism of the planet in question."
For example, the 2nd House in conjunction with or sextile or trine to the Moon or Mercury... can explain a change in finances. With Venus or Jupiter an important economic advantage."
This explains an element of the rationale behind Diurnals.

The example charts below shows how I choose a time around an aspect.
Chart #1 is the Diurnal for Feb 13, 2023 and I have kept only the planets involved. Otherwise, it looks awful healthwise. I might end up being bedridden with neural disorders (Mercury on the cusp of my 6th House).
The diurnal shows the Moon past the trine, so I have to go back to see when the aspect will perfect. And it will at 5h18am
The Moon transiting in the diurnal 8th in Scorpio is making a trine to transiting Venus on the cusp of my natal 8th!

Chart #2 - Choosing a time, I work around 3 things.
1) A planet of the aspect on a House cusp (any House cusp but better if Angular or on the axis 2nd/8th). (The Moon is culminating but not quite on the MC yet! Still very good!)

2) The transiting AS or MC in the midpoint of the 2 planets.
The Moon is culminating at 5h39am but at 5h30am the AS is in the midpoint MO/VE and is trining my natal MC. (Orb Mo to Ve 6' past)
AS = MO/VE = MC/VE (Peaceful environment. I will buy a lottery ticket online from home)
MC = Mars/Fortuna (Taking action for accomplishment)

3) Try to get Fortuna in the picture.

This being said, once the trine from the Moon to Venus is past, there are still other times during the day when Venus can offer some interesting benefits.
Keeping in mind that on the cusp of my natal 8th VE = UR/PL (Mutations, jumps, surprising and unexpected turnaround or development in money matters) I would prefer a Jupiter combination but I have to work with what the sky is offering.

Following up on my 2 times chosen for Feb 13th
Shortly after 5am, I started to play online and recorded several small gains (Mutable Venus) on a consistant rhythm. Venus 42' orb to my natal 8th was too wide. I did not buy a ticket. Once an aspect becomes exact, my orb rule is to keep going until it reaches 30' past. For the Moon, it gives you about 1 hour. So I quit around 6:15am as the aspect was exact at 5:18am.
Plus: Moon trine Venus exact
Minus: Venus is 40' to my 8th House cusp

Later, at 17:42 I bought a ticket when Venus was conjunct the transiting 8th with no results.
Plus: The orb 8' to natal 8th
Minus: Venus not receiving any close aspect in the midpoint UR/PL.
Best in a Jupiter midpoint.

Perfect match would be:
- A double transit taken from the aspectarian hitting a natal planet or house cusp.
- A close to exact orb

But overall, a small run with some cash flow for the future one.
I will post soon post one early April that looks promising involving a double transit MO/2nd House trine transit VE/10th and natal Uranus in the picture. Will look up at the midpoint to find the best time.

The 8th House is money but sometimes death.
My mother passed away in 1992 and above what my diurnal looked like on that day.

The diurnal 9th is conjunct my natal 8th of which I can say it was a spiritual experience being activated by the House of God. Other possible manifestations - talking or dreaming about death or dead people. Spiritual experience, invisible forces, contact with other dimensions, psychic perceptions, dealing with agencies of death.
But here death is clearly shown as it is in the midpoint MA/SA, the main formula for death.

Natally, my mother is ruled by Venus L10 but during this month the diurnal MC in Aries says to watch for Mars as her monthly ruler.
On the outside of the chart, by Secondary Progressions
- Progressed Sun conjunct natal Pluto and squaring natal MC
- Progressed MC conjunct transiting Mercury (ruling natal AS) and opposing natal Mars
- Progressed AS conjunct transiting Moon and squaring natal Mars
- Natal Neptune ruling the 8th in Pisces on the cusp of the diurnal 4th (end and beginning)

She passed away when Sun/Venus came in conjunction to the transiting 8th House cusp. With Mars in Aries you can guess what her will was for the final disposal of her body.

One can say that the Moon is making an opposition to natal Mercury. Surely some nervousness involved here. And the dilemma, ticket or slot-machine?
I should be able to do both within the minute. Opening 2 screens? Typical Mercury.
Not all aspects should be read literally unless you look at the midpoint involved.
For example, Mars trine Saturn, you can say that you can get a lot accomplished from your steadfast efforts. But what is the midpoint doing in your chart. Does it fall conjunct your Sun at MC or does it end up on your natal Mars/Saturn midpoint in the 6th House? A big difference in the interpretation of the trine.

2 days ago, the Sun was conjunct my natal 8th. And the Moon was making a trine during the day. Both sextile my diurnal MC.
If you have to choose a lucky time, the best is when you have a double transit taken from an aspectarian. You can have a planet contacting a lucky placement but when it gets the support of another one (oftentimes the Moon), this is a green signal.
- My diurnal AS is sextile ME ruling my natal AS and natal and diurnal 2nd House.
- VE ruling my diurnal AS is trine my natal VE in the diurnal 5th.

Locally, here is the timeline
- The MO is exact to the SU at 12:32pm. The SU is Angular in the 10th (not on the cusp) and the MO is in the 5th - Win $$$
This is the time I chose to enter the game. After leaving the trine to the SU, the MO is still applying to the cusp of the 8th.
Here is my preference list:
1) One of the planet involved on the cusp of a Succedent House (2,5,8,11) because after that the planet becomes Angular.
2) Exactness of the aspect
3) The midpoint JU/AS or JU/MC or Fortuna contacting one of the planet
4) A transiting planet contacting a natal planet in a tight orb. Look up the midpoint Transiting Planet/AS, Transiting Planet/MC or Natal Planet/AS, Natal Planet/MC
- At 13:03, the SU is right on the MC - Win $$$
- At 13:21, FOR is right on the SU conjunct natal 8th - Win $$$ Best win
I use FOR as a House cusp and luckily it was travelling right behind the MC
- At 13:42 the AS is making a grand trine to SU and MO or if you prefer AS=SU/MO - Win $$$
After that the MO is 12' past the trine to the 8th and the aspect is waning. I quit.

You mentioned wanting to hear from others so here goes.

I have tracked horse races over the years and developed a simple method for looking for winning times. Since you can look at several tracks at a time when betting online, you can find opportunities to bet in the short windows these aspects are active.

I look at the transiting angles for my location, along with the transisting part of fortune, part of spirit, and part of luck (AS+ME-MA). You mentioned the part of victory, however this is a very slow moving part which I haven't been able to utilize in a meaningful way.

The best indicator seems to be a transiting angle or PF or PS forming aspects to natal planets/angles, always using a 1 degree applying orb. I use the 30 degree multiples only but one could try others. I have tracked results for a long time so I have a sort of database of what works and what doesn't for myself. I suspect there may be a personal component or quality to this - e.g. when the transiting MC conjoins my natal MA, I tend to lose. For someone else this might be lucky. An individual would have to start tracking these events over time as I have.

Astrolog freeware is good for this because you can turn items on/off and animate the wheel to search upcoming aspects through the course of a session. Also Walter Pullen recently added some programmability which allows you to display points like the part of spirit, luck, etc.

Also you must use the aspect at the finish time not the start time. This makes choosing bet times that much trickier. A good aspect that separates prior to the finish nearly always loses so race time has to be part of your calculations.

Some examples of transit>natal aspects that have been fortunate would be:
MC sextile SU
AS conj PS
PF trine NE
PF conj SU (seems obvious)

Transit AS sextile pretty much anything wins at an astonishing rate - of course you have to find a race that will end when you have the transit AS aspecting something < 1 degree. Horse race start times are highly variable as you mentioned - a horse rears up in the gate and the delay kills your aspect. I have learned to cancel the bet if I already made it rather than stubbornly stick it out to the bitter end. You have to be nimble, it's not a 'bet it and forget it' technique.

I also track the degree of the MO, recording wins and losses and find that some degrees have high win rates and other high loss rates. For example 6 degrees of any sign seems terrible for me. 29 seems good. These would form 30 degree multiple aspects to Chiron and the Moon, respectively. I have also noted some signs are mostly winners and other are losers - I've sorted the data various ways. It's an ongoing research project.

Beyond just finding good times to bet you have to have a system for picking the winner as well for which I don't use astrology. I know some do. It's easy to get into very complex judgement to the point that it feels more like divination so I avoid astro-horse prediction.

This can be used with solar returns (personally I precess these returns) lunar returns, or the natal chart. I recommend relocating to where one is now. Example - relo precessed solar return had MA by quotidian motion angular conjunct the 7th cusp. Sadly I hadn't noticed this before I went out and hit an animal with my car when the aspect was minutes from partile and did 8k worth of damage to the car. I had gotten a couple of "premonition" type warnings that day and ignored them... live and learn.

I'm interested in your comments about using the 2nd/8th house axis. I don't do much with intermediate cusps as working points because there seems to be no consensus on what house system to use but I may experiment a bit using topocentric based on your comments. Also the fact it's preferred by some astrologers like Alexander Marr whose rectfication techniques I've learned a bit from.

Finally regarding midpoints--these are powerful but I haven't been able to incorporate them extensively. I did discover many years ago that MO transit my JU/PL midpoint produced wins in the casino. It could have to do with natal 2nd cusp being Scorpio though I don't necessarily accept PL as ruler of that sign. I've observed the following in racing for myself, again these are transit > natal:

AS or MC =JU/PL good
AS=SU/UR bad

I'm generally unlucky due to natal SA=SU/JU midpoint within 5' of exact, so I have to work hard to overcome and find any real "luck".

Yes, I have noticed the same thing, Angles and Fortuna are good indicators. Yet, sometimes they lay dormant. It would be nice to track Fortuna over our MC every day and conclude that it is a win all the time. It is as if the planets or points in our chart are flashing on and off. And also the famous 'if', combining multiple factors. Like if you have Fortuna over the MC if the Moon makes an aspect to it or anything other 'if' conditions.

Try your combination when you have a Jupiter midpoint (direct and 5' orb) over one of your Mars midpoint.
When I was going at the racetrack, there was a jockey who had his Mars squaring my natal Mars. Whenever he was competing in a race and his Mars was highlighted, I would bet on him. His Mars was lucky so to speak. But if he was loosing, I was loosing with him.

Yes, every degree of the zodiac is in relationship to your chart. It's not just the Moon going over your Sun. Say for example you have Jupiter at 10 Aries and the Sun at 15 Aries. Whenever you have a transit at 20 Aries, you get the formula JU/20Aries = Natal Sun. And it is possible that you have nothing going on at 20 Aries in terms of Ptolemaic aspects.

Yes, intermediate cusps in Topocentric works and especially the 2/8 axis. I have multiple examples in my database. But you must have a natal chart close to exact. Get the book 'Predictive Astrology' by Juan Estadella. The method is well explained. And we have to change our view of looking only at transits to natal planets. Transits to House cusps work as well.

Start with something simple. Transiting Jupiter midpoints Direct over sensitive midpoints in your chart. Reports in Solar Fire can do that.
You can get a couple sometimes almost every other day.

I'm generally unlucky due to natal SA=SU/JU midpoint within 5' of exact, so I have to work hard to overcome and find any real "luck".

We all have 'unlucky' placements in our chart. Don't play over it or when it is activated.
Yet Saturn placement in our chart indicates where we can become a 'master', an 'expert'. I have a 5th House in Capricorn and it helped me a lot, knowing when to withdraw or stop.
I did a test once with my chart. A close Jupiter midpoint over my Moon/Saturn midpoint. I played minimum bet for almost 2 hours without winning anything. Leaving the machine, coming back. So I knew that it is not a midpoint to play around. But as soon as the Jupiter midpoint hit my Venus/Jupiter midpoint which is 21 minutes past the Moon/Saturn midpoint, I won back everything I had lost. Next time, I will leave the Moon/Saturn midpoint behind.
One can argue, why did you play on a Moon/Saturn midpoint? Yes, there is the theory and then the practice. I prefer to gain my insight from practice not from theoretical assumption. Observing what happens is our best teacher.
Every chart is different but there is a possibility to get to know your own chart and what works for you. There is no clear-cut rule.
Another midpoint structure you can have is a Saturn midpoint over a Jupiter midpoint. As the Earth rotates every day, Jupiter or Saturn will go over the Angles at different times. Best when Jupiter takes over. Jupiter/Saturn and Jupiter/Neptune midpoints will not hurt you. Jupiter/Saturn tells you to stop after winning and Jupiter/Neptune tells you to moderate yourself in your spending.

Today, I was re-reading an old astrology book written by one of the first guide I had in astrology. A Swiss astrologer, a very popular figure in the medias at the time, full of wisdom. She is said to have read 30,000 charts in her life.

In it, she mentioned the importance of phase cycle transits.
I use it as a general rule with the angular distance of the planets in relationship to my natal Jupiter.
I have a Mercury/Jupiter conjunction in my natal and yesterday and today, there is a Mercury/Jupiter conjunction in the sky. A repetition by phase cycle. A hint to test the water. And Mercury is my diurnal ruler this month.
Yesterday, the medias announced that the Federal Government would be giving direct financial support to the Canadians and today I won a fairly good amount online right when Fortuna was transiting on the cusp of my 2nd House.
This is an area of investigation I haven't developed enough but it's worth having a look at it.

The focal point between 2 planets is found in the axis (conjunction and opposition). This is called a Direct Midpoint. And in your example, they are of equal importance.
One preliminary report I will run with Solar Fire is centered on the 90d Dial.
What are the conjunctions, oppositions and squares between transiting planets during the month?
And then I check...
1) Any midpoints of these aspects falling on a lucky placement in my chart?
And here is a general approach.
You can have a transiting square between Sun and Moon and the midpoint falls on your natal Mercury/Jupiter midpoint. Check. I will investigate the time it happens.
2) Any midpoints of these aspects falling on any other natal combinations?
For example, the transiting square between Sun and Moon midpoint falls on your natal Mercury/Mars midpoint. This one tells a different story, maybe not related to winning.
3) Any midpoint involving transiting Jupiter in combination with other transiting planets?
This one you can pay special attention because if it contacts a lucky placement in your chart or even a midpoint involving the AS or the MC, the potential is high for winning.

Then I will check the time the transiting aspect will perfect and look up for potential combinations of
1) Natal or transiting planet Angular
2) Transiting AS, MC or A/M falling Direct (Conjunction or Opposition) to this midpoint.
3) Any planet combination/AS or MC going over this midpoint.
For example, if you have a transiting Ptolemaic aspect in a tight orb to one of your natal planet, I will use this transiting planet (ex. Venus aspecting your natal Mars, I would pay special attention to the transiting AS/VE and MC/VE midpoint over the others). And of course, I always check where the AS/JU and MC/JU midpoint falls.
4) Finally, I will check what Fortuna does. Always good to have her in the picture.

This is how I look at hard aspects and midpoints.

I confirm everything with the Diurnal and here you need to use your own creativity.
This is where I depart from Uranian astrology. With midpoints, we are concerned with hard aspects only and it makes sense, they show activity and manifestation. Something happens when they hit your chart. And the day it happens, when these planets become Angular, you are pretty sure of the timing.

My research led me to look at sextiles and trines because they also work without the stress of the hard aspects.
In the software Winning Times, they say...
"Nobody wins all the time. The trick is to stop gambling before you begin losing. Many experimenters find that they begin winning during a lucky time and then don't stop when the time turns unlucky."
Very true if you play only on Hard aspects because you are in a stressful mode, the adrenalin flows in your body.
So my recommendation is to make a hit and run on a hard aspect.
Under a sextile or trine, you don't have to fight with the machine, it flows naturally... and you are satisfied with whatever the Universe is giving you. For example, you have Jupiter on the cusp of your diurnal 8th House making a trine to the ruler of your 2nd House and the Moon is coming to trine Jupiter during the day. Put the Moon or Jupiter Angular or in the transiting axis 2nd/8th. There you go!

To better illustrate what I have said in my last post, here is an event chart and how I handle midpoints.
I have a monthly report when transiting Jupiter midpoints will hit midpoints, planets and houses in my chart.

The midpoint MO/JU hits my natal JU at a certain time.
I will then look the House position of the actors involved and adjust the time accordingly.
In this case
- My natal JU is culminating - Check
- The orb is 6 min applying (MO/JU= 10 Can 16) - I would prefer closer
- The aspect between MO/JU is a Quadranovile (4/9th Harmonic) - Here the best aspects would be from the Square family. They have showed up consistently to produce larger wins.
- FOR is conjunct Neptune - Downside, rather the Part of Misfortune.
- No other House cusps or planets contacting my natal chart in a close orb.
